what about... giving away mc's in your subs squids? just a little cheaper than the normal give away bike... maybe?
In your article you say Harley use depleted uranium in their K48 Sportster. Can yo expand further where and why. john
Mate, sometimes you do talk compleate bollocks......I've got a 98 bandit 1200, it's proper brutal and fast, and I spend my time intimidating millennials on new so called modern bikes......so stop it you silly boy!
I prefer analog spedometer and tachometer over flickering digital numbers. It is just much easier and faster to assess speed and rev without actually reading the digits. So the Kawasaki Thruxton solutions is perfect in my book.
Really agree about gauges.
Exactly, this is supposed to be a list of "classic " style bikes.
2021 Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Not a powerhouse, but at under $4500 its way less expensive than the bikes you reviewed, and it still has a great ride and vintage great looks. Terrific cruiser.
I bought an XSR back in November and I have never been in love with a bike this much
Got my Xsr700 for 5400 euros with an updated suspension. After one year of riding it it has never let me down and it's even an ok bike to go to the racetrack with because it loves corners. The power may not be enough for some ppl but pulling power-wheelies is super easy and the power is just perfect for riding in the city and on country roads.
Or “we made this because we didn’t tried speed twin yet, so we try the speed twin and make another video with it on first place “
I own a Z900rs, it feels a lot more substantial then the Z900 (had this as a replacement bike for a week) due to the different frame, more metal parts and more upright seating position. The low down torque makes it feel very snappy/sporty. So looks retro but rides very aggressive, like a 'sleeper'. Also take the Triumph Speed Twin over the Thruxton (best of both worlds between Bonnneville and Thruxton).
I THINK THE KAWASAKI Z900RS IS THE MOST AWESOME BIKE ON THIS LIST BY A LOT, IM REGRETING NOT BUYING ONE YET AS SUMMER APPROCHES, BUT IM SO DAMN CURIOUS AS TO WHAT ESTHETICS MIGHT CHANGE, MAYBE AN ADDITIONAL COLOR SCHEME, OR MAYBE SOME GOLD, OR BLUE ANODIZED FORKS.
Caballero Fantic, Kawasaki w800 and the continental GT´s are also great additions to this list
For me, nothing still beats the CB650R. 1. Honda CB650R 2. BMW R NineT 3. Yamaha XSR
Spite! Now that's how you start a Saturday!
""Despite some wonky build quality" this one is number 1 ... don't worry it being our number 1 has nothing to do with us giving it away and needing you to come to our site and spend your money for entries to win it"
hahahah... OK
Honest analysis, fair & unbiased. I am impressed and I don't impress easily. THOROUGH and well-researched.
OUTSTANDING overall : )
Nothing can beat the looks of the Indian FTR 1200 though!
Where’s the BMW R9T? You should have mentioned those before the R18. Those are actually on the road and have several models. They’re actually the heritage series... instead of the cruiser series!
YESSSSSS. Major miss. 110 HP, 84 footpounds of torque...
Crazy high build quality, look and feel!
Rninet /5 is amazing
best bike out there and always gets overlooked
The Kawi 900 and 1000 back then were the bomb. Nothing could touch them.
Really? Really?
What about the Moto Guzzi V7 iii ?
You’ll get a lot of spaghetti in your mail!
Shaft drive Italian bargain Moto Guzzi V7 absolutely lovely 🇮🇹.
Did you purposefully leave out the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and GT 650? cause they are cost effective, beginner friendly, fun to ride and both of them are classic motorcycles.
They brake easily
@@Wuschi2001 fair point, but still....
Started on a 1200 cruiser. Finishing my busa build, and before the handling was vaguely similar(not the speed). Theyre both fun bikes and cruisers are great first bikes no matter the cc
You guys clearly haven't tried the Triumph Speed Twin yet.
this.
Or in reality literally ANY Triumph modern classic. Best middleweight cruisers? Speedmaster and Bobber. Best cafe racer? Thruxton R/RS, best standard? Speed Twin.
I for the life of me don't understand how someone can have a hot boner for the 675/765 Triples and then literally have zero love for any of the rest of the lineup, or actually know anything about them.
Angelo the only argunent I have against you is that you should have bought a garage metal xsr
So much this.
Thankyou for noticing that.
Finally someone mentioned the Thruxton lol, I feel like not many people talk about it. Also I think the Husqvarna Vitpilen and Svartpilen range should have had a mention too.
Goddamnit you just mentioned my 3 fav motorcycles. I am getting Svartpilen soon btw :D That Truxton is a bit out of my range economically.
Based on HP and Torque, XSR700 is greater than Scrambler 😭 and its cheaper too! But i still want the scrambler DS!
don`t....i just rode a scrambler for a test drive...like 20 years ago on my Monster I could not find the neutral at all...cold or warm engine...really ennoying...Yamaha is the way for me as an ex-Ducatista...not impressed by it...but try it to see for yourself :-)
I agree with you, Spite, the Chevelle and subsequent Nova were AWESOME vehicles.
I dunno what's changed in the last month but DAMN the videos are just 👌 whoever you hired as production manager is a keeper
Top 10 Theories About the Disappearance of Jammie J
10. Yammie rode a Harley and fell in love, but in order to have an excuse to ride one, he replaced JJ with revzilla host's twin brother
9. Jammie J was actually a symptom of Papa Yam's split personality disorder and promptly disappeared when spite's love and support convinced yammie to get help. Thankful for this support yammie brought spite on full time
8. Jammie J was a motorcycle mechanic intern who had to earn some money on the side by creating motorcycle videos on the internet before his untimely death being crushed under a fat boy that fell off a jack.
7. Yammie absorbed jammie back into his body like cell did android 17
Love the XSR700, that's why I bought one!
Forever Motolove! Love my own yamaha. Always putting up the good stuff like Delta Parole and others when I am working on her. Moto is life
Couple minutes in and I realized this was an “Onion” piece. Lol.
0:52 "Daler Mehndi" 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. @yammienoob. How on Earth did you get a hold of that guy...😂
there's one indian guy named SAAGAR in his Team of 5 people
#1 classic cruiser - Royal Enfield classic 500. It’s what made me want to buy a bike!
Got to love a vintage motorcycle with modern architecture
Scr 950? Like any guzzi? RnineT? i think they really deserve a place on this list
The R Nine T is one of the best bikes I have rode to date. Its quick and playful and you can get the Pure for $10,500 at the dealership out the door if you are pushy.
I couldn't agree more with your opinion on the 919. Best bike of all time.
I do have to say spite, my first bike was an Iron 883, I definitely should of just kept that and learned on that rather than the switch to the R1. now owning a ducati monster I see that I really like standard naked bikes much more. Probably from my harley days. Still liked how comfortable it was to cruise around
Ya know, I’ve never considered buying a ridge wallet or whatever, but the effort in this video, and the fact you link good gear for beginners, makes me feel ready to learn to ride, I think I may just buy the wallet to support you.
Been using mine for about 3 years now...took me a minute to get used to it but now that I am I would never go back! If you’re like me your lower back/upper cheek will thank you!
TURD!!!
Harley selling a 567lbs bike with a single disc up front for $11499 🤮
What are they smoking? It's 2020, not 1987. This isn't a modern classic, it is classic technology.
Yeah and ABS not stock. Like, for real? That's why Indian's kicking their ass.
@satchelSCROLL Wait. So your defense for Harley is that the bike is sooo underpowered, it doesn't need dual discs? So why the hell are they charging so much? That is such a flawed argument, basically admitting the bike is dated in both engine AND brakes. Even still, at 120km/h a 567lbs bike needs more stopping power than a 415lbs bike at the same speed. Horsepower is basically irrelevant.
@@Shouziroku Wrong, Harley sells more Street Glides than Indian sells all of their bikes combined. 2019 motorcycle sales in USA. Harley -5.2%, Honda -1.5%, Yamaha -3.5%, Polaris/Indian -5.9%, Kawasaki -6.6%, Suzuki -4.9%. All motorcycles sales are down. The younger generations are not buying motorcycles they are playing video games on their smart phones.
I'm absolutely in love with the modern classic/neo-retro syle of bikes. Can yall do a video on some of the more affordable ones?
Suzuki SV650X! All the best of the SV platform with beautiful neo-cafe styling!!!
I’m biased tho. I own one
Also more affordable than the xsr
RE interceptor 650
Yeah I'm also only able to afford 155cc bikes because in my country the taxes are way too high.
every time I hear you guys say “Isle of Man TT” I feel obligated to ask when the TT history video is coming out
Thats playing with fire, They better come correct if they are going to do that video because there will be an army of people to correct any mistakes they make. Also the topic has been covered already to within an inch of its life on YT so they better not do another skin deep video because we've heard it all before when it comes to the TT.
MOAR MOTO yea that would be stepping on egg shells.
TURD!!!!
Juliet&Bitsy HOLA???
Spite can’t use his Harley voodoo on me if I skip through the Harley section. Triumph boi here.
Gyroscopic forces are at play keeping a motorcycle upright.
More specifically, a steady revving engine will help a cornering motorcycle to not fall over (and become upright again after the corner).
The physics of a bike are prescriptive then:
extreme angles of lean, lack of gyroscopic force (acceleration) or interrupted motion (wobble or weight shifting) can result in a bike falling over - especially during cornering.
Bikes are still great fun inside the confines of appropriate "algorithmic" riding.
~ TOTW II
You are right about the 919!
the Hornet 900 / 919 is considered one of the most dangerous bikes out there. Overpowered for its underwhelming chassis. A french journalist died trying one and others were scared to death by the way it handled, it got a bad press ever since
@@nigo1787 Don't blame the bike, learn to ride!
I’m still waiting for the classic looking ones these are all modern especially the ones that he considers the top
you missed the most controversial of them all, the Katana !
You should have listed the CB1100. They are the apex of Honda retrofabulous engineering with an air-cooled 4 cylinder, and are (arguably) the most beautiful motorcycle made in the last decade. Sure it's not a speed demon, but build quality is beyond spectacular. And they're incredibly cheap for the bike you get, running between ~$6000-$7000. Unfortunately, you have to buy used, but it's surprising how easy they are to find.
Love to tour on the top of your list, the BMW R27. Or that 50 lb torqued at the end of your list!
Great video. Thanks.
I didn't expect the CB1000R would make this list. I own one :)
because it's not modern classic bike. It's a modern bike with a round headlight -.-
Royal Enfield 650 twin should have been on the list.
Piece of trash. Sorry but it’s the plain truth...RE isn’t there yet.
@@modbetto85 You haven't a clue my friend.
Albert Laspina : Have you ridden one of these ? Is the whole world is going Gaga over these for no reason ?
Albert Laspina your funny! You obviously have not ridden one. I think the Kawi W800 should have made the list before the z900rs.
WHY ?
"bikes older than 20 years are slow"
Yikes Yammie, Yikes.
We get it, you got a Busa and now a 12 second quarter mile is just grandpa speed.
The first busa was made in 1999......
I have this MV Agusta F4 / 750 from 2000... And it doesn't feel slow..
Gotta agree on the Thruxton R cafe racer. Way cool.
Looool the carburetor hate on Yammie noob makes me think I lucked out with CBR 600, only issue is starting in the winter
Ok Yammie, I have been an very long time watcher but i haven't subscribed till maybe last year. I am one of those guys that has always dreamed of having a bike but didn't get one till last year. Which is an 86 Honda Shadow vt700 that I could only afford because it was 500 bucks( I have a long term GF and 3 kids so they come first). With this bike it was well taken care of and I absolutely love it!! The open road is amazing and I am so glad I was able to do this. Among a lot of resistance of the family that I have is the only reason why I got one so late. I only have my permit and working on my license because I want to prove to my family that you can be responsible and absolutely enjoy riding a bike since I have been dreaming about since I was kid and go yelled at for so long that they are too dangerous. I thought about entering a giveaway so many times but didn't do it till today. Keep the good content up I enjoy it!!! If I every win a giveaway I would by all means collaborate and give love to the channel as much as needed. Keep up the good content!! Yes you might have noticed that I commented on another video lol!! I just want to make sure you see that you need to keep up the good work!
Which is more fun the scrambler or the mt-07? The scrambler is still expensive.
Hyping up the sportiest least comfortableTriumph but showing the comfier models that sell better for that reason.
Personally I prefer the Moto Guzzi V7iii anyway. No chain hassle.
So, I’ve been looking into buying my first bike, so I decided to check some out at a dealership. I walked around 15min and nobody approached me. I left and decided to visit 2 other dealerships and the same thing happened. I was like WTF. Is that common at motorcycle dealerships? Was I doing something wrong?
BOY, i own a 1978 Kawasaki Z1000 A2. Fittet an injection from a modern version to it and yes it is a nice machine and does 90 horses just by switching to injection. I don't want to tune it more, cause it runs perfect, just wants tyres, oil and brake pads. No problems with gaskets or anything else.
I own it since 20 years and its my summer bike. For winter i have a dirt bike.
YES! I love the chevelle! Someone who understands!
I mean, look at the Mustang and Maverick now...
It's a shame that the Continental GT 650 or Interceptor 650 aren't on this list
Geezus Khryst- Sorry to say these guys are trying to play off of Ryan F-9. The R.E. Will be no laughing matter when Triumph and H-D are in financial straights. I looked at the Thruxton R and z900rs, and fell head over heals for the Continental GT 650 which is a 750cc retuned. The S&S 750 BBK at Cam will bring the GT to Ducati Scrambler power at a similar if not lighter weight. RE gets no respect but have been debt free since 2014 and growing.
Damn right
RE's are cheap unreliable and terrible quality motor bikes from India. They shouldn't figure even in the top 75 bike categories either.
Jawa India has a far better offering of retro bikes.
Indeed. Of all the bikes on this list the Triumph Thruxton is about the only one I'd characterize as seeming even vaguely "Classic" in keeping with the title. The rest are styled like Klingon sex toys to my old eyes. I know: "OK Late-Bloomer Boomer." But for about a third of the cost of that Thruxton you could pick yourself up a perfectly nice Royal Enfield 650. I ride an original ultra-primitivo Iron Barrel type Bullet single, and am familiar with its true old school mechanical "neediness", and I'm OK with that. I know they ain't for everybody, yet I manage to happily cope. But those new 650s are a wholly different fuss-free breed. Go test ride one, and then please explain to me why exactly you need a Thai-built "Faux-Triumph" for twice to three times the cost of the Enfield.
@@roosterr66 The 650 twins are great quality, reliable and put Triumph gear boxes in the shade. Get up to date
Budget choice. The Genuine G400c.
Yes it is EFI. It is an air cooled thumper. A copy of the 1970's Japanese Universal concept. 400cc Honda derivative. Disk front and drum rear. No ABS. Sleek, simple, and powerful enough for what it is. She'll do fine on the highway. Max speed 90+. $4,500 USD.
Just got a 2015 HD Forty-Eight for my first bike, so far so good!
It don’t matter what you ride, as long as you ride! WFO FTW
I like the fact that China had a Sportster clone all set to go. I have enjoyed my 883 for 25 years.
'Yammie owns one and said if I didn't put it on here I was fired' 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol "oh whats this? Oh a pink slip. Wow that was fast" 🤣🤣🤣 almost wet myself
What about the Indian? The Kawasaki "W800". The Triumph Bonnie?
Make your list bro
@@thegodhoward8037 I agree, but I doubt Yammy Noob would "get" the simple pleasure of that bike. Some reviewers "get it" and some don't. As for me, I can't stay off of my W800 Street. It checks all the boxes for me.
The Kawasaki ZRX is the best retro bike. They nailed it with that styling.
I'll take a carburated bike over a fuel injeted one anyday the feel is just so much more satisfying
I learned how to ride on a sportster 1200 with no problem. I also tried to teach a friend how to ride on the same platform and he no longer rides. I guess it just depends on the person, just know you limits
I'm starting on a 1200 nightster and I have no problems with it, but I can also see how it can be too much for some.
Since the latest video on cruisers I espected a Moto Guzzi here, somewhere...
@@gorillamoto5329 I don't think they rode a Guzzi V9 though and yet it got 1st place in the cruisers video...
Guzzis are too cool for these yo-yos.
XSR at the top, really ? Above any of the Bonnys from Triumph?
I’m having a mix of laughter and anger. You seem to be taking your viewers and subscribers for granted !
The word *yammie* is right in the channel name
I wish HD would release a Sportster version that looks _exactly_ like that 1957 Model K version! People would lap it up - folks _love_ the real vintage bikes, so the closer they can make it look like one...
Don't fire him Yamster!🤣😂👍
You are to the bike world what Garand Thumb is to the gun world. Lol
Can you please let us know what are your views on Royal enfield continental GT 650?!
Cheers from Chile!!
Man, dude, you always have interesting titles on your videos and that's why I click them, but I never manage to watch them till the end.. you talk a lot heh
'81 GS1100E -- still peels my hair back after 40 years...
R9T Roadster easily outclasses this entire field.
I was shocked it didn’t make the list. Absolutely love mine and the 120+ hp it’s cranking out after mods makes it incredibly fun
What’s the #1 best starter bike for a complete novice rider with these parameters: age 57; height 6’1”; weight 230 lbs.; to use for on road touring (& camping trips) with occasional dirt roads and suburban general fun riding; price not an issue; aesthetically flexible but love the Triumph Bonneville line and the adventure bikes like the BMW GS series; prefer upright seating position; safety and ease of use are paramount criteria.
Not sure if you did and I missed it, but would really like to see Spite's reaction and thoughts on the V Rod.
It’s funny watching this seeing you go down the streets I use on the daily. Metric.
Thanks for the tip
I am looking for a smile on my face. Are you suggesting an xsr700? Is this what you would buy with your own money? I want something that does not fall apart in the corners. What would you suggest? What would buy with your own money? What excites you? That is what I am looking for? What is it? I am ready to buy and test rides in Houston are hard to get.
you could've talked about the vitpilen and svartpilen from husqvarna, they are gorgeous bikes in my opinion !
I want to try one. Are they comfortable for a 6ft + frame?
@@timjohnson1199 for the svartpilen im pretty sure it is, but for the vitpilen you have to try, its mostly about being used to the riding position that can be a bit radical, especially for the 401. It really can change from a person to another
@@timjohnson1199 look up the fortnine review
That look, Yamaha did it first. Mt01
That Husky reminds me of a Benelli 250
2 stroke I had 50 years ago.
just cus its over 20 years old doesnt make it slow, my 1984 v65 honda magna is a beast, plus 115 hp stock
The Honda CB919... Fantastic machine!
Deciding between the xsr and triumph t120. I have clipons on my 500 gs right now and I want a little more leaned back but better performance. Love the looks of the T120 but the XSR seems like a better put together and easier bike, however a little less character.
Apples and oranges. A more comparable Triumph model to the XSR is the Speed Twin
Yeah guys please swing a leg over a Speed Twin, the modes make a huge difference in power to the wheel and where that power cuts off
Lexmoto just brought out the Detroit 125cc and i think thats an awesome bike for 17 year olds here in the uk
Did Spite really diss the Z900 😳😱
The 2019-2020 model is sexy tho
New advanced bike giveaway - You guys need to prove each other wrong because the new Z900 could be a better bike than the MT-09
I feel like they really haven't tried any Z-series bikes yet. Those are such good bikes and damn good looking. Even those older Z750 and Z800 models looks good and performs really well. And yeah, they need to get Z900 for advanced bike giveaway or at least Z650 for beginner bike giveaway.
I've put roughly 1200 miles on my '19 Z900, and it's a blast in every way. Sure it looks kinda like an alien, but what better vehicle to eventually storm Area 51?
LMAO we calling Harleys modern now
kidding love you spite
Specially when Indian's are ways more modern while keeping the retro look.
@@Shouziroku Yes, was at an free Indian store today. They sell both, HD and official Indian. Very nice, won't take a scout over my sporty but they are definitely a little more modern. But too smooth for me.
This is exactly my thought. And I own two, and adore them. But... “modern?”
@@drzaius844 definitely not 😂 that's why we love em.
The title could be misleading, I was just about to ask where's the W800 and I realised that there's a separate video about best retro bikes...this video is more about neo-retros...
So why is the vitpilen 701 not on the list...? Thought you guys were also husqvarna fans
If you or papa yam ever want to ride a z900rs i would be thrilled if you ride mine. I do have the cafe as well if that piques your interest.
I like the Honda Exmotion CB350r as a retro modern classic.
I would like to see a video on the CB1000R, i have the CB650r, i love ir and i would like to upgrade to the 1000. What do you think?
Slower if it's not a 929rr 2001 witch I have the pleasure of owning still running strong with no major issues. I love it and don't think I'ld ever cheat on it unless it was with a 954rr witch my close friend owns also still running strong.
Any new Royal Enfield (besides the Himalayan) would qualify as a moden classic. They're air cooled. They look the part. The 650 twins look like they traveled via time warp from the 1960s to today! The new Classic 350 clearly harks back to the RE G2, the post war motorcycle that gave us the swing arm suspension. However, they have modern frames and technology, e.g. EFI. Plus, they sell at a price real people can live with.
The Bonnie with that 60s fairing is sooooooooo hot. The pricing is irrelevant cause the used market is where it’s at baby. I can wait a couple years.
Yams you should do a video on the bandit gsf 600
Bro, what do you think of Royal Enfield motorcycles? I am asking as I am going to buy the Royal Enfield meteor 350 and I am a beginner.
I loved the reference to Hoenet 919m
