- Black Jack has long been the leader in traditional asphalt waterproof coatings. Our solvent based products, both fibered and non-fibered, have provided lasting waterproof protection for millions of buildings throughout our nearly 100-year history.
Asphalt waterproofing has continued to improve with two major innovations from Black Jack.
First, Black Jack has taken its years of waterproof coating experience and applied it to new, waterbased, earth-friendly and low VOC asphalt formulas that really perform.
Second, Black Jack has discovered new ways to add special ingredients like rubber in our Rubr-Coat #57 for a truly innovative advantage and a seamless, water-tight seal.

the black jack 6125 is that the best for coating and sealing a flat asphalt roof on a house
I have a very small building I'm renovating with two fiberglass (rolled) awnings out front. The awnings are custom size and color and would cost a lot to replace, and be a huge hassle to take off. I want to just use fibered asphalt roof coating on it after patching to seal and resurface it. I know this sort of stuff will stick and hold well because I've done my similar small awning at my house a decade ago and its still good. However, this only comes in black, and this place needs to be brown or it will look trashy. Is there any way to paint over it or color it?
Beautiful love for your roof!
This stuff gets dried up and cracks
could i get this at a lows and home depot?
I am building an enclosed trailer roof. The roof has OSB plywood. What would you recomend for this? Can I use your product as an adhesive for roof felt in a built up roof?
I was thinking a coat of your "non-fibered" stuff on the wood, then a layer of felt while it is still wet, then another coat of your "fiber reinforced" stuff ontop of the felt?
What is the dry/cure time for Rubr-Seal? for some reason it wad not dry after 24 hrs in good summer weather. thank you
neeed a way to blow it on with air gun to 4 meters away. can't walk on cement tile roofs; seems too think to blow unless thinned out / What else ?
i used this on my drive way and it is really thick and sticky ... please tell me it won’t stay this way
If you would apply this on a metal base (using thinner) would it be removable?
you do not want a water base roof coating.................... they fail badly
Which product are you using?
Ho long is it good for on a mobile roof metal
Can this be applied in cold weather to seal leaks on a shingle roof?
Did you try it to seal your shingle roof, I got 3 garage leaks in a 10 sf area and I want to smear it on with a brush, will it work, did yours work.
@@matt7ironit did not work well in the cold but when I applied some when it was warmer, it worked. I was using a putty knife since I was just sealing certain spots.
Granted, I am not sure if it is the exact same product that I used.
@@MrNathanstenzel after further review I need the blackjack #57, that's what I'm looking for, I'm in California and gotta get ready for the atmospheric River storms that might come, next summer new garage roof.
Hello. How much surface it cover?
Could you share the formatiom for this product
I have a metal roof on my Mobil home what would be the best product to use to re seal my whole roof
Did you find out what to use, I have a metal roof also doing research.
I am sealing a stock tank that was already painted with traditional, nonfibered roofing asphalt. I'd like to use a rubber based sealant, but I don't know if it will adhere to the asphalt based coat that is already on the inside of the tank. Animals drink out of this old tank, so rubber sounds better. Any thoughts on the application and what product to use?
Sorry for the delay Clark. If you haven't already determined a plan of action, feel free to drop us a line via the contact us page of our website at BlackJackCoatings.com. To determine if we have options for you, we'd need to better understant what your needs are with the project.
Get a new tank or build a new tank. Animals should not be drinking water that touches asphalt
or any petroleum or synthetic chemical sealant.
You lie it is not easy to stir takes forever.
how long between coating
could that be added to shingles?
Hi Rosman Morales, Black Jack products are available at Lowe's but are not currently available at Home Depot (although our affiliate company Gardner Roof & Driveway is). To see a list of where our products are available check out our "Where to Buy" section on our website: www.gardner-gibson.com/buyitnow.aspx. And yes, Black Jack products can be used with shingles. Feel free to post any other questions you may have!
