Last March I went to a Steam 101 talk/event (which was made for developers, since it was during the GDC week - GDC, for those who don't know, is the Game Developer's Conference) and during the Q&A part of the talk someone mentioned about the Steam Deck releasing in other parts of the planet and they've mentioned that they're doing as much as they can to release ASAP in other regions
That's good to hear. I kinda wanna hear this talk but I'm not sure if there's video footage of it out there.
@@HiTechLoLife Unfortunately from what I remember there wasn't anyone recording the event, since it wasn't part of the actual GDC - it was a parallel event that ocurred a few blocks from GDC and in the same week, to make it easier for devs to go to the event)
I'm from Chile, the only way we have in countries that is not available officially is to buy through Facebook Marketplace, prices are very good and it is very easy to find Steam Deck even without use, I bought mine at $450 without use and with a 256GB MicroSD, I was lucky. They are getting cheaper and cheaper to find.
I hope that in the future they reach more countries, it is an incredible console and even more attractive and cheaper than a Low-End PC Gamer, it is my favorite gaming device, greetings from Chile.
I live overseas in a place that is part of France and they still haven't made the Steam Deck available
I'm from Saudi Arabia and i won't hold my breath for them to sell it in here or in the ME, they don't even support Arabic in Steam. Also the scalpers are working wonders here. Paid ~750 for an OLED with 512GB.
For reference this is the same price as the rog ally there
I bought a 64gb steam deck more than a year at $530
This is my main issue about the steam deck. Sure, the steam deck is available thru resellers, but all of the base lcd steam decks in the market in my country are still fully priced except one, which I'm not sure if it's pristine or refurbished (there's rumors they sell refurbished as brand new).
In my country you can only buy a steam deck in the fb market place and prices are well above reasonable price at a 1000 dollars it’s to expensive.
I knew steam would not ship the steam deck for brazil (cuz of their other device didnt), so i had to buy the lcd 64 gb for almost 600 dolars, but still cheep in comparison to the Rog Ally in Brazil - 1100 dolars.
Wish it also officially released at South East Asia, the markup price from unofficial seller are quite hefty for us
Already gave up for the Philippines (SEA) and bought one from our local retail 3 days ago at an inflated pricing. Still one of the best decisions to get the Steamdeck OLED 🥰🥰
How much was it in Philippine pesos?
I love how New-Caledonia or Guyane have access to Steam Deck because there are islands that belongs to France (it's pretty poorly formulated I know, I don't have oh'ther phrasing in minds for now, sorry).
And Guyane is next to Brazil and New-Caledonia is really close to Australia but Steam deck is not delivered in neither Brazil nor Australia, ain't that ironic and weird ?

Japan is a closed market, you can't just sell to things there from the outside without added massive taxes or a local company. It also has a high quality control demands of the products that are sold there.

@@universegaming1353 I got mine from Ozon. They basically buy them from China and ship to Russia, so I had to wait for couple of weeks. But I'm glad that I didn't have to pay extra
I paid 60k Indian rupees which is roughly 720 usd for 512 gb oled a couple of weeks ago.Lucky to get a working one as there is no warranty on product only 1 week replacement.At that same price I have the option for rog xtreme with official 1 year warranty but still went with Deck without a second thought.Took a gamble & to me in the handheld console market Deck is one of the best. I am happy with my purchase 😊
Probably cause they pirate so damn much cause their national currency can only buy an apple at an extreme discount. That’s my theory
