    Dewie's death was heartbreaking in Scream V, but it's not like it wasn't preventable. I mean I get why he went back to shoot the killer in the head, but he should know better as a Stab survivor than trying to do that on his own even if he left the killer on the ground. Even Sydney and Gale saw through Amber's fake pleads of help later in the movie thanks to all of their experience.

    • @ashleighstratmann7783

      Heck if he knew the killer could come back if not shot in the head he should have also know the killer could have took the time Dewie was saving Sam and Tara (not including Richie for obvious reasons to those who seen the movie) the Killer could have set up a trap in case one of them did come back. In fact either Mickey and Mrs Loomis actually did something like that in Scream 2 that cost Sidney one of her college friends?

      Amber and Richie were trying to make a requel out of Stab 8, which meant everything between Stab 1-7 was left the same including the ones involving Scream 1 2 and 3 and thus could be use as inspiration for their murders as a character’s dedication to their predecessors that they kept in the requel. That’s how requel work in any franchise as it shows where the requel stands in the franchise timeline

    • @ashleighstratmann7783
      @ashleighstratmann7783 Před 11 měsíci +1

      And the fact Dewie made a mistake of going back when he knew the ghost face murderers were following the rules of legacy aka requels made it even more foolish as I’m he didn’t know Al just where in the stab franchise the killer was trying to redo, especially after Wes and his mom’s murdered since they were sequel character/Legacy and if it was a requel from the first stab movie those two should have been safe. Anyone who seen Halloween H20 should know requel can take place after a sequel too just as long as there is another sequel to be a cut off point

    Dewey’s death was actually really devastating to me. With him not only were you not expecting it, but it also wasn’t an easy to take one. Frank is another one, that hit me in a rather gut wrenching manner. When you see him with his daughter the last thing on your mind is he’s a goner. You actually want him to survive so he can take care of his daughter. So when he gets infected and shot to death it comes as a huge shock to the system. Not only do we lose a great hero, the daughter loses all she has. Which is something totally ripped off in films like the Dawn of the Dead Remake. For one thing that remake undid some of what made the original so special. For another it added its own, but it was still the lesser film. It was fun yes, but the zombies were no longer funny brain dead but man eating creatures. They were speedy demonic creatures who lacked the souls of the people they once were. The social commentary, while there was more grotesquely abusive. I mean literally, the analogy, of celebrities are just stupid husks of people is disgusting. So making a game of “kill that zombie who looks like this celebrity”, was gross as shit. You don’t get that with the original, of all things. No the original is basically herding the zombies like sheep, but it’s still isn’t killing them randomly. They even make a point to say “These are people and these people used to practically live out their lives here, so there’s no need to kill them if you don’t have to.” A less pronounced version of “No, they’re looking for a place to go, just like us.”

    I love the screen movies. I almost broke down, crying in the theater when Dewey was killed even though I knew it was gonna happen.
    Another one I would mention would be Sidney‘s boyfriend Derek from scream 2. He was a legitimately good guy that cared for her and so tragic that he died thinking Sidney had thought he was a killer.
    Of course also an honorable mention to Jennifer Joli from scream three, who was easily the best character in that movie, and it was pretty idiotic of the writers to have her get killed off in a pretty stupid way. If you ask me, they should’ve killed off detective Kincaid, since I never liked his character and hope if they bring him back for a seven film, he bites the dust.
