can you add a second battery?
If only this would be mullet😢
frame and battery sz for this weight?

Rob, one question only I have:
Voima or this Orbea?
Can we just acknowledge, Rob's absolutely gorgeous filming locastion. Like damn, i'm always suprised.
Basque country north spain
That's my local trails. They're a great testing ground for any bike.
@Rob Rides EMTB can you put a 27.5 in the rear?
La zona de la costa es una ruta que une por la costa HONDARRIBIA con PASAI SAN PEDRO provincia de GIPUZKOA , el resto del video está gravado en LESAKA provincia de NAGARROA , a apenas 20 km. de Hondarribia
Another amazing video, beautifully shot as well. I am a non e-bike rider but the more I watch your videos the more I am excited to convert !!!
They're great! I ride mostly bike parks, but wanted to get out more in the colder months. There's a few new jump lines near me, and I'd get maybe 3-4 runs in before getting tired with my regular bike. The ebike I can get in 10 in the same time.
Plus I'm riding longer and going a lot more frequently, I'm actually getting in better shape than I would had I not gotten one.
BTW if/when you get one, don't settle for anything less than a Bosch battery. So much fun, good luck ✌️
Amazing photography! Perfect lighting and venues! Nice work man!
Sweet spot found, awesome. Great vid Rob, cool shots.
Great video review of an amazing bike! Your editing is top tier.
Great job Rob! Looks like a great bike. Beautiful places to ride there in Basque country! Seems they have found a way to get performance and lighter weight in the same package...hope this sparks a trend!
Beautiful video, with all the tech talk too! Thanks
nice technique in the climbing Rob :) and Orbea, they really have impeccable taste, another beautiful bike.
Subscribed, thank You for the valuable information, besides video production, talking part is done so professionally.
Woah, with a burly build my Rise was the same weight ( 20.50kg), carbon frame with the 360W battery. Full props to Orbea for making this bike so light with so much battery and power!
My M10 rise with coil and DD tires in L is on 20.3 kg
I can't decide between a rise and a wild 🤔 was worried the wild would feel too disconnected and boring on more traditional trail riding, but watching this video makes me think maybe the bike is just as agile and fun and the main difference would be the rise has more gentle less obvious assistance and the wild blasts off
@@ErikinCA Felt the same way, and I hike a bike on some of the steep and nasty stuff I find but I think I ride really rough trails and should probably get a Wild to add to the stable instread of another Rise
Awesome video! Liked the fact you pointed out about the headset. I hoped there was more info about bearing sealing and linkage in general.
probably the best presentation video of the orbea wild.
i am impressed by your quality.
Now I'm even more excited about my new Wild M team and can't wait any longer.
I hope there will be more videos from the new wild

Your reviews are like watching a movie. Damn nice shots bro!
Kudos to Orbea! Looks like an incredible bike
agree, looks insane ! But the price tag tho :D
@@FraGGile22 yup, a bit pricey hahaha. Positive side is that Orbea offers a wide range of models. But honestly despite being this impressive the new Wild is not going to be my next Ebike.
@@andresaraujo7579 yeah same 100% not. One of those. that is fun to watch a video of and thats that :D
I’m happy with my 2022 version 👍🏼
New to your channel but man, your videos is a top notch. Btw lovely frame, cosmic colors.
Thanks Paulius 👍
It’s the only bike that would tempt me away from my Levo. Fixed in battery seems a great idea. Cracking review as always.
Wow ......... great review and a bike that is well sorted out but ......... the video quality is stunning . In a sea of poor quality POV MTB CZcams vlogs RR EMTB videos are always such a joy to watch. The bike reviewing gets better , informative and well thought out content that makes sense to us the viewer.
I recently made my choice of bike to purchase based on some of your previous bike reviews , I spent a lot of money on a bike I had never ridden only looked at on a shop floor. My first ride out on it confirmed exactly everything you had explained in your review on it previously.
The Spanish really are turning some great bikes out right now.
I hope they sell frame kit option like Pole Voima.. so I can put my own component. what a beautiful bike, and great video, thanks Rob.
When you live in the area where I live, northern part of Norway, being able to take the battery indoors during the winter is a big advantage.
But i agree it is a beautiful bike
Yes! Now we Talking, they are finally here, the Full Power light weight Bikes 🤠
Wow! great review Rob....both the bike and the location! Looks like the MY23 ebikes are upping the ante BIG time what with the Pole Voima and now the Orbea Wild FS and I hear Scott have something to get excited about just around the corner too!
It's great to see Bosch investing in the racing side of the sport so will be interesting to see if other motor manufacturer's bring a race spec motor to market, along with race spec batteries and it is an exciting time to be an emtb enthusiast... who knows where we go from here? Racing uphill on downhill tracks? I for one would LOVE to see that!
Finally....bosch stepping up to the more integrated options out there!
Looks really good!
this is now top of my to buy list :-)
Thanks for your review! Amazing job. I love that ebike. Considering seriously of getting it vs the Rise or even the new Trek EXe. Good job! 💪🏼
Hey Rob brilliant video once again! A question were you comfortable on the xl ? I'm just over 6,1 and don't like to big of a bike, just wondering whatd your thoughts thanks
First time watching your channel. Phenomenal presentation, amazing visuals and a great review. Liked and subscribed!
Thanks!
Great Video Rob! Super informative and damn, what a look... #cinema =) Thx 4 Video!
Beautifully filmed Mr Spielberg
I’ve got a COMMENCAL meta power 27.5 2018. It’s a heavy beast and I’ve been pinning for a light bike but this bike and the ibis is starting to show that i don’t necessarily buy an underpowered untested motor to get some weight off and still be able to hold its own in where I ride.
Looks pretty slick!
Hey Rob Rides Emtb! Great cinematography dude! Ride ride ride!
I can't wait to see how light they could make the next-gen Rise! Current-gen is just over 16 kg but that's using a full-weight Shimano motor; new frame and something like a TQ motor could maybe bring it down close to 14 kg? That would be a dream.
Wow 🔥
🤩🤩🤩 superbike !
Love that galactic rainbow paint. That's the colour for me. Iv asked orbea what the ews E team are going to do about only having one battery for racing. I really want the new wild, but need more range for training and racing.
With that low weight, the differences between lightweight and full fat are getting smaller. Lovely lighting in the video, too!
Great to see something that can be customised to your liking , and that there not using a one piece stem and bar like other manufactures, would definitely consider this as a replaced for my current eMTB.
They're amazing... Lightweight, Bosch battery, customizable with a ton of build/color options, great display and a beautiful aesthetic. Plus it's reasonably priced compared to similar builds. I don't have much to compare it too, but every review I've seen, comment I've read and people I've spoken to who have one, all have nothing but great things to say about it.
@@topspot4834 It's really not reasonably priced compared to others. The base carbon model is £7000 and comes with a 35. Come on lol
Orbeas frame design is finally not ugly
Another great video Rob! Damn…I was going to wait on 2023 Transition with Fazua Ride60, but hard to pass a 170/160 with full power at just over 20Kg!!
Same. Relay looks good and maybe there's still a niche for "mid weight/mid power", but why pass up lighter with full power?
That thing looks like the absolute dream.
The shuttle sl is amazing
Sweet🤙 Good 4 me. But don't EWS pros have spare batteries for swapping between stages...I guess it's the whole spare bike they'll have ready instead? Am I missing this point?
Crazy nice shots!!!
And a great review as always 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have a 2021 aluminium H25 FS Wild and it's really heavy. It's been extremely reliable, and I've done 3,000 off road miles. The 625 Whr battery is sufficient, and the Gen 4 CX is plenty powerful. As I weigh 98KG, taking 4 KG off the weight is irrelevant. I ride with 2KG of water, another 1KG of tools and spares. I was a bit concerned that I'd not had to change any suspension bushes, service the forks or rear shock in that mileage. So, I asked my LBS to give it a once over before the warranty runs out in January 2023. No faults found. I have replaced cassettes, chains, brake pads, discs and both the front and rear wheels as the bike came with unsealed Shimano hubs. I now have Hope Fortus rims with Pro 4 hubs, which have been great so far. If I was to buy a new bike, I'd definitely want the fixed in-built battery as I rarely remove mine. I don't have a problem with the Bosch Purion display as it's an old familiar friend. My first Cube ebike had one and couldn't fault it then in 2017.
It's not the same if weight is under you or what you carry... you move what is under you, so weight matters...
Very nice professional looking shots. And a very sexy bike !
Awesome video Rob! I’ve caught a few of your vids recently and they are all really good. Re the bike- Lately I’ve been turned off of steep seat angles for any sort of pedaling while standing. Crazy technical climbs, for instance. The steeper angle has your center of mass quite high up, and I find the bike will get hung up much more easily on obstacles. With the “e”, I don’t mind more neutral 75-76 degree seat angles on even the steepest access roads (25% grades). Are you quite tall? I’m 174cm, so riding size medium bikes.
Hey Jeff - great to hear from you! Been watching your content for a long time! Yes, I'm 6"3 - so prefer steeper seat angles, so more needed perhaps compared to a medium frame, as these long droppers on bikes with slack seat tube almost put me over the back wheel!
@@RobRidesEMTB while not even approaching 1% of Jeff's riding style, but at 181 cm I feel the same as you. I used to prefer mullets or 27.5 partly for that reason of not sitting on the back wheels, until the steeper seat angle 29'ers appeared. Those feel much better when pedaling while sitting. But it's also true the center of mass moved up as well, so there is some compromise, riding out of seat earlier and more than before :).
Very near to ordering a Trek Rail 9.8 XT but this has stopped me! Is it better and worth pre ordering?
@@RobRidesEMTB hi Rob, I am also 6ft 3 but 103kg (working on lowering that but natyrally big so can only hope to get to 98kg lowest). I've noticed despite my better skill than some friends, I just cant corner like they do, it's physics, but on burly straighter sections I gain back time lost in corners. I think you are 20kh or so lighter than me so you'll corner much better. I ride mostly technical enduro trails, natural forest types and wondering how, the bike handles on the limit (where traction is being lost) and changing direction. I know there's many variables: terrain, skill, tyres, tyre pressure, suspension tune, conditions but would love to hear more about slow speed handling on steep and twisties and railing all sorts of corners, flat, bermed, negative camber
Sooo sick. Wow
This will be my next bike ( i hope ) 😂...score: 10/10
It's beautiful
I got all excited thinking i`m gonna upgrade my Wild FS to this. Shame the battery is not removable as mine is kept in the shed and the Mrs would flip if i brought it in the kitchen to keep warm.
Nice review Rob, love your commentary. That bike looks stunning
Hey Rob, love what you do!
What gear you use to film your videos ?
Cheers from France :)
Do you reckon the bike will run good as a mullet setup Rob? Got one on order it’s due end of January was going to try my rear wheel out my enduro bike see how it feels
Hey Rob, having reviewed both the Yeti 160E and this 2023 Orbea wild, what is the better bike in your opinion? PS. love the videos, keep it up
Loved the review Rob, would you pick it over the santa cruz bullit which is also a fantastic bike.
was going to buy a rise..... not now! will wait for 2023!
Beauitiful video! You are a master in creating this kind of content. Really! One question: What size were you testing in the video? XL? I am having problems to decide what size I should choose. I am about your body size, riding an XL Turbo Levo from 2020 right now, and comparing the Geo I would say I should go with the XL. An S5 TL fits also well for me. You mentioned the Wild is "compact" in its dimensions. And therefore I would assume that L would be too small as I prefer the big boys. (S5 and XL for Turbo Levo) instead of L and S4. Thanks in advance for a short info on that!!
Hi Rob, thanks for all the amazing and detailed videos.
Which bike do you prefer between your Canton Strive On and your Orbea Wild?
Looking to buy my first e-bike and I’m really torn between these two awesome bikes!
Thanks in advance. Steve
if you have to pick one, would you take this os the brand new strive? both look great
Bike looks nice, but the trails look fantastic. When were you there? It's tipping it down outside now and I'd love to take a trip.
Wery cool video👌
Great review Rob!! I want one!! If I get one, I may never ride my gen 3 turbo Levo SWORKS again!!
Cesar
Awesome video , Rob ! Like always.
Amazing video, Rob! Thanks for this incredible review! 👍
🙋♂Question: You mentioned you wished there was an XXL size... May I ask how tall you are? I'm 6.2ft, and since I appreciate maneuverability/agility over stability/velocity, I'm more inclined to go for the L size. What are your thoughts? I've seen other videos where they say this Orbea Wild could feel bigger when riding due to the great distance between the two axles. Thank you!
great video! will there be a range extender?
Hi Rob loving the channel.
I’ve just brought an Orbea wild and have been watching your videos with interest.
Could I ask one question that nobody has asked on any of the videos I have watched.
You say the remote is wireless and Bluetooth. So I’m guessing it has a battery in it to work. My question is. How do you recharge / change the battery. And how long will it last (potentially) between charges / batteries ?
Thanks
Keep up the good work 👍🏻🤙🏼👊🏻⚡️
My only prob with this great review is that it makes me want to get one & i;ve not long since got a Trek Rail
Awesome looking bike..👌
Pity there's no frameset only option, but then nobody is offering that. Can't understand why...🤷
I've got my Rail upgraded with everything I want and when I'm ready I just want to buy a frame, motor and battery option, when someone offers it, and transfer the parts ...😕
Hey Rob. What does ride like compared to the Kenevo sl not power of the motor just handling and downhill?
Beautiful Bike and Video once again! Nice colors, locations and its pleasant to Listen to your enthusiasm :)
Order in for the Ltd , ordered through Wheelbase Darlington. Went for the 750 battery.
Awesome vid Rob. Any chance you'll have a chance to make a vid of the new Cannondale Moterra LT?
That looks like a great bike, hopefully one day!
Nice Review Rob👍I Was Waiting to See if a Longer travel Rise Was coming in 23 ? Do you Know
But Now they Have made this The Power is better and it Weighs Around the Same But a Better Motor and battery So I Would Prob Just Get One of these
Hey @Rob do you know if we can mount a range extender on the new Wild? just curious.
Great video and bike!
Can the stem be replaced from stock? Also, do you have to run the stock stem spacers due to the integrated cable routing?
Things are getting there.
Rob, is rattle better with Race motor, how quiet is new Wild? If you can compare old Wild vs new, what would be main difference (except geo and weight)? Thanks.
Ear your heart out average joe!
How does the race motor compare to the normal one range wise?
I’m 6’4” and have long legs/arms and a short torso. You mentioned that an XXL would be ideal for tall guys. Do you think this may feel a little too small for me?
Hi Rob, would you prefer the Orbea Wild more than the Specialized Turbo Levo?
Nice video and bike! Whats about weight for cheaper models?
I dig it. About time Bosch got rid of that abomination of a controller.
but they made it worse without a oled display
@rob, do you have any intell, how much the alu version Will be heavier, it looks like An awesome packed bike. The topend alu looks decent for the price, Hopefully around 23kg
Great review. I'm in the market to move on from my Trek Rail, and this bike looks pretty sweet. I'm a bit confused about the comparison to a "trail bike" though. When I'm at the top of a trail I want my bike to perform with the speed and poise of a long travel gravity oriented enduro bike, rather than a shorter travel all-around trail bike. Do the trail bike comments mean that it is not a full on descender? Or just that it is more nimble than most of the other full power emtb's that are heavier and some of which have a sort of "monster truck" mentality on the descents?
More nimble, less monster truck in feel, but still fully capable!
Great video! 😍 What helmet are you wearing?
I'm trying to decide between this 2023 Orbea Wild, the Pole Voima, and the Cannondale Moterra Neo (probably the Moterra Neo Carbon LT 2 or the Moterra Neo Carbon 1). I have a Pivot Switchblade already, and I'm looking for a bike that can handle the uphills and daily riding well, while also giving me extra travel (160+) for the bike park. I'm pretty set on a Bosch motor, but would consider a Brose. I definitely want to keep it under $10,000 USD. What you do you think? I'm hoping for a response from Rob, but welcome all comments. Thanks!
How does this compare to the Pole ?
Hey Rob, any thoughts on how the new Wild rides compared to the Gen 3 Turbo Levo? I've had an S-Works Turbo Levo for a year and am intrigued by the lower weight and full-29er aspect of the Wild. Any comments will me decide if I should swap my TL for the Wild, and would be much appreciated. Thanks much. 🙂
you should, for sure. It will transform you from a mediocre, moving obstacle on the trail, into top 10 ews/dh/whatever rider. The last year model bike was what held you down. 🙄🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
Rob you did a video on the Radon Render about a year and a half ago and you really liked it. I would love if you would do one on the newly released Radon Deft 10 as it is at the top of my affordable dream bike list but there are no reviews in English. Help a brother out as I do not want to splash the cash on a bike I have no feedback on!
Emtb is always a good choice for echo vehicle lovers....!
Hey @Rob was the version you tested and weighed the one with 750W/h battery? Just wondering if the 20.8Kg are already including the bigger battery or the smaller one?
Only the top model has that weight: Smaller 625Wh battery, lighter carbon rims, lighter motor, lighter groupset
I want one!
I think it will be interesting to see the bike travel around the world, because it will be one of the only emtb that you can't take on the plane, because you can't take the battery out.
Rob mentioned in his comment above that it can be done if you drop the motor which doesn't sound like it is that difficult to do. Probably around half an hour and if you are traveling far that is well worth it.
Did I miss the Watt Battery size? Thanks
They have done everything I wished for: a configurable e-Rallon. Hopefully a battery extender will be attachable to the smaller internal batteries.
Hello! Thanks for your message mate! With the 750Wh battery there is more than enough capacity for really long rides, especially in the lower assistance modes. When opting for the BOSCH system it is not possible to develop custom battery solutions. Cheers!
@@orbea thanks for the explanation. Congrats on the nice work, and it looks like a lot of viewpoints were considered before choosing the options. I'd like to keep the weight low, and probably even the smaller battery would be more than enough. Around 20 kg, the bike should pedal pretty fine even with the motor switched off, so not much risk.
@@orbea so that means no extender batteries?
