    Thanks for this. My biggest decision is the extra synced tables. This allows me to seperate a complex DB into smaller ones and get the 50k record benefit for each.

    Thanks Gareth - good timing! I was trying to understand our billing. But you didn’t explain their credit system for getting invites. Somehow I got on that system and get big credits every year.

      @GarethPronovost  Před 3 lety

      Lucky you! Have you found the place to add those credits to your account? When you do this, you have to specify which workspace you want the credits to apply toward, and then you can't make changes afterward. But, the credits will be depleted before you card is charged for that workspace.

    My personal issue is that some basic functions aren't free (and that's ok) and they aren't even in the plus plan. Basic things shouldn't be only in the pro plan (imo).
    I'm referring to colors and chart, for example.
    I would pay 10$ for them, 20$ is so much that is more affordable to switch to a competitor.

      Interesting point you bring up. I'm actually surprised that you can't use any color under the rainbow. That might be a nice addition - if the current preexisting colors were part of the free plan and Airtable allowed pro users to add any hex code they want...

    For Pro license, it is 50000 automation per seat or total number of automation will be 50000 despite independent of the number of licenses one purchases.

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  Před 2 lety

      50k automation runs per month, so seats don't impact this. Still, very few of clients are actually using all the automations that Airtable makes available. For those that do, they leverage additional automation tools like Integromat and/or Zapier.

    Here is something to consider. If you use commenters then a paid plan could cost you much more than you expect as they charge you for each one. But they are free in the free plan. Makes no sense.

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  Před 2 lety

      True, although ALL users are free in the free plan. The limitation there is the record count (among other things). If you want to use more of Airtable's features, eventually a paid plan will be needed. 🤷‍♂️

    This is in regards to content calendars for each client I have. I have 4 clients
    Should I have one workspace for “my company” then have multiple bases/ content calendars for each client?
    Or should I have a workspace for each client with their own base / content calendar?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  Před 2 lety

      This depends on a couple factors. #1, do you intend to use automation? #2, what's your software budget?
      If you will use automation, creating multiple bases (one for each client) can be really arduous. This is because every automation works with a specific base in Airtable. So, if you have any automation, especially 3rd part automation, you'll need to recreate your automations for every new base. This makes scaling really difficult.
      Also, if you can afford an additional software (

    How does airtable compare with Coda. Coda looks far less expensive if you roll it out to a lot of users.

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  Před 3 lety

      True, Coda is less expensive for many users. Couple of things to consider:
      1. How much data can Coda store? We had several performance issues with Coda that we never had with Airtable, leading us to drop Coda as a backend no-code option.
      2. Can you roll out your database without sharing access to Airtable? For example, build a UI using Stacker.app or Softr.io that allows your users to interact with the data, without being users?
      Wishing you all the best as you continue to explore these tools! 🤞

    Hi, I'm from Indonesia. I need to upgrade my airtable account to "Pro". Can you tell me how to pay the billing? Cause my Visa card declined when I tried to upgrade.

    Hey sir, great videos! I set up airtable to manage scrum and analytics for my team. We recently hit the 50k records cap for the pro tier. What should we expect for pricing after that? Any advice? Thanks!

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  Před 3 lety

      Hey Ryan, thanks for watching! Airtable gets pricey when you move past the PRO plan - Enterprise starts around $3k per month. Most of our clients are looking for something in between PRO and ENTERPRISE so I hope Airtable comes out with some intermediate option!
