  • I'm reading A People's Tragedy: The Russian Revolution, by Orlando Figes during July 2024. It's a one-month read of 24 pages a day, so quite a commitment. But I feel that without making such a public commitment, it will continue to sit on my shelf.
If you'd like to join me, I'd be delighted to have you with me for some accountability and to support each other as we learn about this vital period of world history.
I've set up a real-along club on Fable:
    fable.co/club/...
And here's an affiliate link to buy the book at Amazon, Blackwell's and Bookshop.org (this will earn me a small commission at no extra cost to you)

I love figes’s books! My first was the one about the Crimean war. I’ve got to say tsar Nicholas is a truly fascinating and tragic character.

I started A People's Tragedy 3 years ago. I've only read till page 245 so far. It was beautifully written but I just was never consistent enough. Want to power through it now

I extended my read into August. One month just wasn’t going to be enough. Smaller chunks every day is working and giving me time to make notes too.

OH! I've wanted to read this! I don't get paid until later in the week. Let me see if I can find it at a library for the moment.

Good luck! I just checked the Kindle version and it's back at full price again. Guess I just lucked out when I got it for £0.99.

@@CamsCampbellReads It's available at the library downtown. If I can scrounge up enough for the train, I'll try to get there tomorrow. (Yes, I'm broke.)
