  • Golden crowned Lemurs are exquisite little monkeys with large eyes, dextrous hands and soft velvet fur. But their cute appearance disguises the toughness of their character. Set against a backdrop of towering rock pinnacles, impenetrable vegetation and terrifying subterranean caves in Northern Madagascar, this film follows a year in the life of a female as she leads her family in the face of starvation, poisoning, war, and giant cave-dwelling crocodiles.

Wonderful Film. I always wanted a programme on Madagascar and this is just beautiful. Could not believe the amazing Eco-system that exists here. Thank you for posting. I can't see on the credits who filmed this Classic Survival one hour, though the style is unique.

I wonder why they say that science doesn't know how they crossed the 400km gap of water to Madagascar.
Crocodiles spend most of their time in water, are great swimmers and have been known to swim much fsrther than 400km. Seems pretty easy to figure out how they could have ended up there.
Maybe this is just a really old film?

That was a wonderful film I learned something new and we saw new videography that we hadn't seen before I was very impressed however there was nothing mentioned about the bats in that one specific huge cave and I'm just wondering what that does to the ecology of the water and do the crocodiles eat bats I don't think we were shown the whole environment of the caves it would be nice to see a follow-up video going deeper into all of the species that live in and rely on the cave at the end of the film you showed a small Cenote and I would love to learn about that one also

I almost lost interest in watching this documentary. It's such a well done documentary of such a beautiful region but it all looses tastes to all these adverts. It's almost as bad as TV. I say. But at least, with TV we got the option to switch to any other channel.
