    Interesting comparision - they seem pretty similar - the price point might indicate that too, but the Launch's ability to communicate with later FP / DOIP networks would be useful. The Volvo's power-pulse is the compressed air tank that they use to spool the turbo at very low rpms - they love to pop the pressure hose btw !

    I have an autel, but the launches seem to have the newer protocols which is better for the future.
    We used to have an autel and a snap on machine in the workshop I was in previously - as you say, pick up the snap on and use it until one day it didn’t work on a vehicle. Pick up the autel, use that for a week until it didn’t work on a particular car on a particular function - then go back to the snap on and so on. Good to have 2 different brands 👍🏼

    Thank you for the review.
    I have the LAUNCH 919X which I bought 2 years ago. I find it quite useful and cool but my only problem with it so far is its inability to at least support the capacity of most AGM batteries available within the increment of 10 probably from 60Ah to 130Ah. My old battery was 90Ah that died recently and I replaced with a 100Ah capacity and then I found it difficult to register the exact capacity into the DME so the alternator could charge appropriately according to the rated capacity. Now all that LAUNCH 919X have available for AGMs are 70Ah, 90Ah and 105Ah. No 80Ah and no 100Ah, etc. I spoke with its customer service rep and he said he would have to advise his technical department to include more choices in the next software update. I hope they do. 😀

      @@solidsnake6405 I am not so sure as I did not follow up with the seller because my free subscription ran out and I could not update all the BMW software of the scanner unless I renew the subscription. Anyway, I have started using bimmercode and bimmerlink OBD applications and I kinda found out that it is not actually LAUNCH mistake, it was just the way my particular E70 series model's battery section have been factory pre-programmed to be coded and registratered along those available options with the exception of 100Ah AGM. All these options are available to be coded in the ECU: Namely 46 Ah • 55 Ah • 60 Ah AGM • 70 Ah • 70 Ah AGM • 80 Ah • 80 Ah AGM • 90 Ah • 90 Ah AGM • 105 Ah AGM • 110 Ah.
      In any case, I am planning to start using LiFePO4 battery instead of AGM.
      Regards.

    • @SholaBaby
      @SholaBaby Před měsícem

      @@solidsnake6405 ... I am not so sure whether they fixed it or not as I did not follow up with the seller I bought it from. My "after-purchase 1 year free software update" expired and I chose not to renew it because it cost a bit to do so in order to get any updated software of all BMW models. Anyway, I decided to get BIMMERCODE and BIMMERLINK OBD applications that are just exclusively meant for all BMW's DME and I realized through them that the exclusion of some of the values for battery coding and registration was not actually LAUNCH manufacturing errors, it was just the way BMW had pre-programmed my specific E70 model to have such available values with the exception of 100 Ah, whether AGM or the normal type.
      So the values available within the DME for any battery to be coded and registered are just the following :
      • 46 Ah • 55 Ah • 60 Ah AGM • 70 Ah • 70 Ah AGM • 80 Ah
      • 80 Ah AGM • 90 Ah • 90 Ah AGM • 105 Ah AGM • 110 Ah.

      And LAUNCH is just missing a couple of them on their device. But the good thing is I can keep on using it for any car model up till the time my free update lasted which was August 2023, and it will not work with any car model beyond that which means any 2024 model.

      Regards.

      it’s heard to compare autel has many different levels of scanners. whether he is using is a DIY scanner the MaxiCom not the professional 909. the problem i’ve seen with the launch that he’s using comes in the live data portion it only allows you 4 graphics at a time where autel lets you choose as many as you want . check before you buy to see if either one can do all of what you need it to do.

    They are both really good value but the CRP919X supports ECU coding on many car brands. The Autel does not. I haven't used it on too many brands, but on Honda and Toyota you can do an ECU replacement and write the VIN number with the CRP919X. On VW/Audi/Porsche the Launch can do a lot of calibrations and coding that you would require the more expensive Autel MP808S for.

    I was so upset when I found out cause I got it for 713 with can Fd adapter and tried to stop ups but it was already at Amazon return center in only 1 day since it's only 1 state over from me and they said they couldn't send it back.
