The in-game footage of old gen console have been recorded using both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
The in-game footage of current gen console have been recorded using both the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection.
The in-game footage of PC has been captured in 1080p resolution (1920x1080) with all graphics settings maxed out, while the footage from PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3 has been recorded with the same device using default settings - both on console and recording device.

The people who did the remasters were clearly not aware that the color schemes used for these games were used to mimic the ones used in Renaissance paintings. Out of the 3 games only Revelations managed to look somewhat better than the original.
Nah AC2 looks WAY better. I fucking hated the washed out look vanilla AC2 has. Especially in Venice and Forli. So glad they changed it.

the removal of bloom from AC2 and the improved textures are a huge plus, but it's really a shame they removed the unique color filters from each city, it takes away a lot of the personality from them and makes them feel generic
That's a personal opinion and I respect and accept it. But honestly, one of the things that has always makes me a bit "meh" when replaying AC2 is how washed out everything looks. I really dislike the lack of colour in the original AC2. I do agree that cities don't look as unique as they used to, but my God, it makes the game much more lively to play.

Weird how AC2 has clear boost in texture/shadow resolution from PC to ps4/x1, but ACB and ACR look the same and even slightly worse in some aspects from PC to ps4/x1.
probably because AC2 is the oldest of the three so improvements are much more noticeable

@@the_seer_0421 Yes he is. The textures are better, yes, but it's still not on par with other games from that time. Remember, the Ezio Collection is from 2016. That's only a year before Origins. When you hear a game is getting remastered, you expect an actual remaster. Halo 2 Anniversary is a great example of what a true remake should be like.

AC Brotherhood = Best at gameplay
AC Revelations = Best at narrative
"Best at legacy" literally revelations is about the legacy of Altair, ac 2 is the best in narrative, representation of the maps and innovation in gameplay, Brotherhood is indeed the best at gameplay

shesmine19 it's not a matter of the game looking bad its a case where they used the new engine that assassin's creed runs on but the problem is these games needed to have the characters reworked as well this is a case of low resolution polygons that the characters where left with after the remaster.

(Seriously, though... I can see some texture updates, but otherwise it looks exactly the same. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think these games really needed the remaster, maybe just a remake. Something more than just the textures. It would have been nice to see these games brought up to, well... 2016 is inbetween Syndicate (2015) and Origins (2017) so I would have liked to see really either of them.
Though, I'd also honestly just love to see some love given to the first game as well... I still love it, but the controls are definitely clunky. I honestly don't even mind the slower free-running, I'd just like the game to be loved. lol

OK guys get ready for 3 goddamn paragraphs of cynical but slightly positive bullshit. Note I have played the 'remasters' on a mates PS4 Pro on a 4K TV screen so I'm drawing from most of the game not just the parts the video shows. I've also played all 3 games on the 3 different generations, being 360 then PC, and now recently the Pro.
AC2: They coulda done better, maybe they were lazy or maybe they genuinely believe that the old engine and animations were part of the entire AC2 experience, The textures are looking good, they could've tried to add some variety to the textures around the cities, because now everything looks the same and I find I'm seeing a lot of repeated textures. I mean it's not like it would've been a great hit to the performance, I'm a PC guy and the parts of the PS4 Pro are high end enough. The overall lighting on the skin particularly bugs me, it's like they couldn't be bothered adding a shader to the skin, so everybody looks like their skin was photoshopped onto them. THE EYES MAN, THEY STILL PENETRATE MY SOUL!! They could've changed the eye textures and fixed the eyelids, but that's Ubisoft for you. Other than that I'm generally unimpressed with it
ACB: Everything is yellow, and bright, everywhere. I mean it literally looks like a truck full of yellow chalk crashed and all the chalk powderized and spread across Rome. The texture upgrades are all so subtle and discreet that it takes somebody to go frame by frame, with the old games next to it to spot them. Some are so obvious that you wonder why they bothered at all, like Ezio's shirt during the siege. The outlines are so bold, yet Cesare's textures are completely unchanged. Could you guys imagine his armour if they even put the slightest amount of effort into Cesare. But they were too busy making it look like Rome's air is yellow. PC looks best and has an uncapped frame rate AND can run at native 4K, not the Pro's version of 4K.
ACR: This is better than ACB, but still could've been better if they put more effort into it. Most of the notably upgraded textures are on things that you rarely get a good look at in a cutscene (which is where they are easily seen) or they get covered up by the shop armour. So if you wanna see the most of the upgrade, don't get new armour. Other than that most textures get an overall sharpening and are sharper than the PC textures. Note a sharper texture and an upgraded texture are different, (upgrade is the textile the texture is put onto, like how all of Yusuf's armour looks leather, but the texture looks like leather with metal plating. Sharpening is making the actual texture hi-res like with Ezio's robe patterns). I still prefer the lighting on the PC because it's darker and more black, specifically noticeable in the 'white/black room'. Overall this is the one I'm least disappointed with, they didn't make anything worse in some areas like the others and upgraded some, but sharpened most textures.
If I explained anything badly, just ask me to elaborate, knowing me it probably makes more sense in my head rather than yours. Thanks for reading all the way :)

wow i never thought id say this but the original looks better than the remaster..the background looks great but there faces?? there faces went from tan to purple in ac2, and brothehood looks worse alround, looks foggier and less clear some how...wtf? when a last gen game is nicer looking than this gen ya'd know ubisoft had something to do with it, thanks ubi for your lazy money making scam

Graphically the games look great on XB1 here. Plus they come with all the DLC for single player built in which adds to the value. That alone makes the collection worth the purchase here. Either way, you have three great games on one disc.

Im replaying AC Brotherhood from the Ezio collection on a 4K tv and it looks pretty good, I guess CZcams’s processing doesn’t retain the visuals. How I’m seeing the game isn’t as bad as how it looks here

I personally think that just AC2 has the biggest difference in all 3 games. Now i know alot of people disagree with me but i think Ac2 is the best looking graphics upgrade out of all 3 games. But personally i think if you have all 3 of them on the PC or Ps3 or Xb360 then I dont think its worth it. But if your a newcomer and want to get into it then go ahead and buy it. It would be a good introduction including some of the best AC games of all time. But if you already have the three of them then (in my opinion) i wouldnt suggest grabbing it.
I have the 3 of them on pc . I had ac 1 and 2 from the exclusive pack . Today I bought the exclusive pack for ac b and ac r. I think that the graphics and the fps are way better on pc . So I agree.
AC2 is way older considering all others now. Getting a chance to go back to that game with any amount of upgrade is worth it for any fan.

@@blk7747 Yeah so? Even 3 years ago, this looked very bad. Look at it like this; a year later, Origins was released. They had every opportunity to actually remaster the game. What they did with the Ezio Collection was basically just tweaking some of the lights and add minimal texture improvements here and there. Brotherhood especially, looks worse in the Ezio Collection than it did in the original version. It was just... bad. The fact that they sold it for 40 bucks is dispicable.

@@blk7747 You're half right (or 2/3, if you wanna get technical). AC 2 on the Ezio Collection is officially classified as a 'remaster'. Look it up if you don't believe me. I get why you wouldn't believe that because it looks really bad but it really is a remaster. Same with AC 3 remastered, although it's not part of the Collection. Ubisoft is just really shit at doing remasters. I personally think they're just greedy. They tweak the lightings a bit and add a few improved textures (like I mentioned) and then just call it a remaster and charge people 30 or 40 bucks just to make more money. It's pathetic.

I’m really enjoying this collection apart from some of the camera angles which are really annoying because you cannot see where you are going and you have to guess
If you want to play AC brotherhood on the Xbox one/ps4 without the Yellow Filter then you can go to your tv Menu, Go to to options, Then tint and move the slider until your back to a regular Greyish tint. Lower control and Increase brightness to fix The shadows and Increase saturation slightly, Once your out of brotherhood just change back to "Game" or "Movie" Settings
Does this work with AC 2 as well? Might make me strongly reconsider the Ezio collection, I'm just sad they removed the fog especially in Venice. But if you can change the "filters" back to more closely resemble the original games, I might pick these up after all

i play it atm on PS4 Pro and it looks fucking Amazing... sometimes minor Glitches happen like creepy eyes and some others but it is pretty solid and worth a buy...

Revelation has some extra clarity and slightly better textures and all have upgraded sky boxes
So Remastered is basically better texture but without the atmosphere that makes Ezio games so memorable.
i remember when ac brotherhood came out, stupid me decided to try to play it and i was soooooo lost lmao. didnt get more than 30 minutes in. then decided to pick it up again 4 or 4 months after it was remastered on ps4. after playing thru it, i procedded to but all the other games on the ps4 but unfortunately sold my ps4. now all i got are the 360 versions of the earlier games, and recently the rebel collection on switch. really regret selling it cause i soooo badly wanna finish unity, and play the newest game.

I had this on 360.. and actually played it recently.. I just got the ps4 collection and it looks so good.. I think it’s improved.. it’s on par with black flag graphics..
wish there was a present day character and storyline like desmonds. love or hate him, at least it helped connect past, present, and the ac games. the newer games dont have much of a tied together story between games. theres no way they could make an entire ac game set in present times or anything later than syndacite time period, but imagine exiting animus and doing assassin stuff in an open world. that would be only way to do it. mabye in 5 or 6 years lol

This remastered Ezio collection could have been much better than it is now if it had gone aside to really improve the cinematics like Halo had. Right now the improvement is too insignificant to me.

Ps4 version is the best indeed, but i prefer the warmer colors that older versions had...sometimes it's not only about graphics, and expecially in this case , it's a matter of atmosphere.
