China thinks they can buy friends and allies with their money but they have no intention of being a friend to anyone. China's interest is China only. Everyone is expendable, even their own people. HK is prime example. US may have bases around the world and they do recruit people from those countries into their military. I have met many soldiers that joined the US military in exchange for citizenship. Again, US may have bases but they invest far more than just the bases. They invest in people. Last I checked no one, and I mean no foreigner joins the Chinese military. Who would be stupid enough to do so? Now they may own all the ports and such but the world is their enemy. No allies. No friends. Even Russia had to tap down China for infringing on their border. If that is your ally then who needs enemy. I'm sure that Russia keeps a close eye on their supposed ally. Pretty soon the world would boycott China's SHIT. China will collapse under their own debt. Would you exchange a US dollar for a Huang? Hell no. Its like trading real money for monopoly money. Worth less than the paper printed on. That is what I have learned.

We've sold and given away these ports and having a strong and the best naval fleet in the world does us no good if we can't move them. Tables have turned and the U.S. is at a great disadvantage. America has been living off a 75 yr reputation as a bad ass and America has not won a war since Couple that with depleted Arsenal because of all the useless engagements over the yrs. Poor leadership and a divided country America is like a 75 yr old boxer thrown back into the ring and may be overwhelmed by our next possible major war. As they say there's not another America to back us up and come to are rescue. We ARE in trouble. We may have to sit this one out. In Australia the ports in question were leased not sold to Chinese investors. The leasehold is 99 years and can be terminated at any time. As of june 2020 all foreign investmants have been halted and are under review.
Eg Port Darwin is used by China to load out mineral ores. I really do not think the CCP would try to berth naval ships in Darwin with the USS Enterprise parked up with a contingent of approximately 3000 marines whom are periodically rotated throughout our Northern states. The other ports around Australia have 49% foreign ownership of leaseholds.
These leasholds can and will be terminated if and when the federal government deems them to be a
    Sovereign security risk.

Perhaps all these knee jerk reactions about Chinese ownerships are getting out of hand. You never hear the good news, only negative ones. Well, here in London, the famous London black cab manufacturer was about to go bust a few years back when a major Chinese automaker stepped in and rescued it and made significant investments in the factory.Result? The newly released famous black cab is now an ultramodern hybrid vehicle which runs on electric in the main and thus removing at a stroke those old polluting diesel cabs plus the firm is now thriving with exports to many major cities worldwide and thus securing jobs and investments in the UK in the process.
