A new Anglican diocese, bishop and church in Australia - with Peter Palmer

- In Australia, there are now two expressions of Anglicanism.
The first congregation of the new Diocese of the Southern Cross started at Beenleigh in Brisbane last Sunday and the Diocese’s first bishop Glenn Davies will be appointed on Thursday.
Other congregations are expected to join in the next few months.
The spilt in the Australian Anglican Church follows the failure of the Bishops of the National Church to support the denomination’s traditional teaching that marriage is between a man and woman.
It follows similar splits in the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Brazil.
Peter Palmer was the minister of St George’s Anglican Church in Brisbane until serving under Brisbane Archbishop Phillip Aspinal became untenable. He had served the Bush Church Aid society for 16 years, having been involved in indigenous ministries in Wyndem WA, church and mining ministry in Coober Pedy, SA and FIFO chaplaincy to mines.
Now, Peter will pastor the new Southern Cross Anglican Church of Beenleigh and Logan.
Peter says his decision to leave the South East Queensland diocese, where he had pastored St George’s Beenleigh for six and a half years, was provoked by the national bishops’ failure to endorse biblical marriage and Archbishop Aspinall’s presidential address at the synod in Brisbane.

Thanks Dominic for this interview (excellent as always) my prayers are with Peter and I praise the Lord for His courage and willingness to stand firm on God's Word. The diocese of the Southern Cross is a God-send for many faithful Aussie Anglicans trapped in dioceses that have embraced the doctrines of demons. Peter's testimony reveals the ruthlessness of the Revisionists in their wicked desire to eliminate all who stand in the way of their evil schemes.
Well done Peter. Our 'pastor' took a similar approach. Our vestry members plus a handful of others went with him. We all made our own choice. We are now under CCAANZ extra provincial diocese..no regrets. 👍

Peter Palmer and other like minded christians you are part of the remnant. The Lord always has a remnant and we here in Zambia are with you. The Lord has said he will build his Church and the gates of hell would not prevail against it.
May the Lord bless Peter for standing on Gods word. We as believers need to resist evil and that’s not with out consequences from the evil one. Love the sinner and hate the sin. Hang together or hang separately.

Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. I left the Anglican Church 3 years ago because my local diocese under the direction of Bishop Peter Stewart embraced a female Holy Spirit, I was already out by the time they approved blessing of same sex marriages.
There is hope yet. God is calling his people out. Come out of her my people!

@@ozicryptoG The Anglicans borrowed some of the Catholic form, but the substance is very very different. Like all protestants, they have created a god of their own imagination, and they will continue to divide into the future. Where there is no authority, there can be no unity.

That's the proper bible. It includes seven more sacred texts than the heretical other versions.

Peter ( respectful) God is with you! I am with God, therefore, I am for you. Here, in Uganda, I still uphold the Bible. The day my Bishops in Uganda ascribe to blessing of same sex marriage is the day I will declare them break away.

I understand from Jesuits that Jesus never once spoke about same sex relationships. I think it is sad that the Anglican Church has split in two because of this.

It hasn’t been split. The fundamentalist faction has left to start its own business. This is more about property than about belief.
Don't put your faith in man but rather the Word. Read the Bible if you want truth.
There are no women preachers, ministers, priests or bishops in Christianity. Already, Anglicans broke away from the teachings of Paul when caving in to feminist demands, not to mention acceptance of deviant sexuality.
So who gets what ? all those heritage listed churches paid for by ancestors who never even thought of embracing gay marriage, who decides which church property goes to the 2 halves and on what authority does each new anglican church have to decide on the ownership of these multi milliuon dollar properties

My goodness I think Glenn Davies is a complete rebel. To do this sort of thing he’s done is ludicrous. My daughter is you respect the Anglican Church where she goes her minister is held in high esteem.

I am hearing and reading conflicting reports. I hope Peter received his full workers entitlements when resigning from his position as an Anglican minister. But the idea that he would lead months of services after declaring his intention to leave for another church is frankly ridiculous. The church was generous to give him another week of preaching and I hope he used it to provide some pastoral care to the people hurt by his departure. Now that he has left I hope the remaining congregants are able to recover and move on.

Same sex marriage is only the flashpoint for wider malaise in the Anglican Church. In the name of unity all sorts of unbiblical doctrines are tolerated.

I think this is a better move for everyone. If you want to care about marriages which is a state run/owned thing more than loving people. Then it's best you go your own way.
Mark 10 is about devorse not same sex marriages.
You only read in the text what you want to hear, does everything in live have to be spoon-fed to you ? or do you look for that loophole to justify thinking otherwise. Mark 10 verse 6: “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ 7‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife".
@@gideonliversage8958 in the end, this movement which did not exist when I grew up in Sydney Anglicanism until my mid teens is a movement that puts a certain form of commitment to biblical literalism above love for our fellow human beings. It is intellectual elitism, cold and uncaring of the damage it has done and continues to do in society. It is better that it stops calling itself Anglican.

@@SunsetHoney615 Actually in my experience it is usually the ordinary folk and not the so-called "intellectuals" that cannot abide in what the progressives (regressives) are doing to the Anglican part of the Body. As far as "love", love is telling those around us the Gospel even if it offends rather than creating a Gospel and a god that does not exist. We are made in His image not our own.
Jesus said “if you love me you will keep my commandments” A good father disciplines his children, and does not says anything goes because I love you.

Sadly this is just Protestantism doing what it does best - dividing.
Christian unity will only ever be found by returning to One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Would that be Orthodox, Catholic, Oriental Orthodox, or Church of the East? Not like Christian have not divided before. We all need the mercy of our Lord.
