Freeing the Dragons in front of you at the start of the game LITERALLY gives you tutorial information
What?!? the game wants me to think for myself?!? What is this the 90s? Thank God games today are more dumbed down
To be fair, that is the problem with the current generation and teens... They are so used to have assistance for everything... Look, back in the times, we were able to finish Spyro games 100% without having tips or solutions on CZcams or any social shit medias... All we had was a magazine sometimes but that was it. We were way more instinctive and that is the problem nowdays that is why for example, older FPS for those who like, were way better. Old Call of Duty's were good, new ones are bad.

Firefly hero also literally had an entire fucking tutorial in almost every level that introduced something new. Also, if they told you everything, the game would be too easy. I played old fames and I still get far without a tutroial.

From someone who grew up with these games and 100% them recently, just, seeing some of the teens being shocked Spyro can glide and breathe fire, also, clearly having no idea what to do yet having the privelage to play the originals and the reignited trilogy? Hurt my soul a lil XD

I probably lost 15 lives trying to get that last dragon. The haunted towers level is somewhat hard too.

yeah at that point I was thinkin i hate how in games now they force all this on screen text and buttom prompts in your face for the forst 40 minutes of games lol.. Although i think it'd gotten a bit better in the last 5 years to be fair
"older games don't tell you what to do" yeah, it's called the instruction booklet in the game case. you read that. it tells you the controls. games didn't hold your hand back then. you were basically supposed to test out stuff on your own. games now tell you EVERYTHING, no room for testing.
I don't think they come with a booklet. It's a 20 year old game afterall
@@LightBluly I own the original game. there was a little booklet inside that told you about it. more than the little slip that comes in games now that only tells you the warnings and warranties

It's a double edged sword. Sometimes older games were so cryptic and impossible to figure out without cheating. But it was pretty satisfying when you finally figured something out back then.
I like how they complain how the older Spyro game didn’t give directions on the controls of the game yet the newer didn’t do it either...complaint is invalid. Pst..by the way back then there was a booklet that gave directions that was the cover of the case.
I mean, when playing a new game normal people try out what different buttons do. I never read the booklets, just freakin try things. XD Games today have so much tutorials and quest markers and shit that people get completely lost when left to explore on their own.
The beauty of older games is that they didnt hold your hand the whole game.

This is the same guy that did not remember spyro could fly or breath fire, mind you.
Not to mention retro games allowed you to mess around with the controls to give you a feel about them. Like best example of this is original Mario Bros on nes. The first level is basically a tutorial on what is good and bad.

Literally, everything they love about the new version of the game is what made the original what it is. the funny voices, the simplicity yet innovative game and storyline, all of it. it may not have been as sophisticated, but for crying out loud, it was the 90s. it was limited back then.
I like that they gave all the dragon's new looks to compliment their personalities. The blue and white one definitely is the goat lol.

I think he's just complaining that the controls are not modern version. And that's sad because the controls are SO simple and not that hard to do once you explore the levels and learn the controls quickly.

The controls are so simple I remembered what each button does almost 20 years later.
Older games don’t tell you what to do, if they haven’t noticed the remake game doesn’t either. You have to figure out the controls just like the original.

People are so used to the Skyrim generation. You know, the games that give you large floating quest markers everywhere. Games that tell you exactly where to go at all times. Games that have long drawn out intros designed to explain every minor detail of how to play.
Hell, I'd gladly go back to reading instruction manuals if it means getting rid of the whole "let's make the first two hours of this game one long tutorial" thing.
And the dragons literally says what you need to do, the menu explains your progress and what you need search, more explained impossible

He is most likely much younger than us who played it. I was young teen when I started playing. (like literally 12 or 13) they probably were younger than 10 so it pretty much could explain why he doesn't remember Spyro's ability to "fly" aka gliding.

He'd probably be pretty good at Sonic Forces in that case.
(Sidenote, I think Sonic Forces is decent, but not great, and it does mostly play itself)

I totally miss playing Spyro The Dragon games on Playstation. So much great memories. Like in Spyro 2 and 3, instead of jump, glide, and hover over the cliff to cliff or rooftop to rooftop, I used charge and jump on over the other side just like the Matrix style! That's my favorite part! HELL YEAH!!!

I love the reignited version because it feels like playing the original again but as the kid who loved it.
Now I want to pull out my old play station and my spyro/crash games! I do that every so often because I don't play video games anymore, but love going back and playing my old ones from time to time!
As an original Spyro 1 speedrunner I have to say I loved the reignited version but there is a subtle sense of nostalgia that comes with the original PS1 version you can't remake.

So the way I see it as a 22 year old I remember spyro from when I was a kid looking like the reignited version, my nostalgic filters don't allow me to remember the buggy controls or the outdated graphics. The reignited trilogys were created by the kids who loved Spyro in the 1990s, that is why its so remarkable, the developers are exactly like me, someone who remembers the soundtrack by heart, feels emotional chills when hearing the jingle from the twinkling gems.

Yeah you can easily clear the first homeworld 100% including flying in 15-20 minutes casually.

I will always have a special place in my heart for the original version. That was my favorite game growing up. While the new one is so cool and has such great graphics I still like the original for nostalgias sake but I'm so excited to get this for Christmas and play it!

They don't tell you what to do because gaming back in the day used to be about actually having to figure it out yourself not having it given to you in a bunch of quick time events... this is was old games still to this day are so much harder than these games these days.. yes they are better quality and graphics but gameplay is SO much easier
I played first and second ones SO many times, and I completed them both with 100% of everything gathered and unlocked. When I first played 'em.. it's not hard to figure it out lol

the funniest part is that if you walked up to the first dragon statue in the beginning and pressed action at it, it prompts you with a message telling you what to do and if its a world gate it prompts you with eggs / treasures you're missing to unlock it. Its a remarkably simple game. The controls are no more complicated than an NES controller with a dpad and 2 action buttons, one of which is used for jump/double jump, and glide.
I’m laughing at the fact that they don’t “remember” certain things but in reality they most likely never even played the game. I could be wrong.

I still play the old one today while playing the new one. Being a 90’s kid, I’m glad I grew up in that decade to enjoy all these games. I hope they remake crash team racing and I can’t wait for medievil to be remade

I remember playing Spyro back in 2000 and was pumped because I gained access to the special portal that you can only get into after gaining every gem, etc. from every level.. so much nostalgia with this game!

Anyone who says that lost their inner child and thats really sad. Im 27 I played this in 98' when I was 7, I preordered this as soon as they had it up for preorder. Theres nothing wrong with indulging your inner child once in a while.

The original Spyro games will forever be favourite games of all time! They are my childhood and everything I like about video games. I just finished playing the reignited trilogy. It was beautiful.

They did a Sly trilogy remaster on the PS3.
I have that on my PS3. Well technically I bought Sly 2, Sly 3 & Sly 4 separately. The 1st 2nd & 3rd games were really just HD updates for them and not a complete engine update that Spyro & Crash got. Plus I think the graphics still hold up well for the first 3.
