I have an '03 Mustang V6 drop top that bought brand new 19 years ago. It's always been just a third or fourth string fair weather use-only car and otherwise has always been garaged, and now has only 45k miles. It's like new, top, bottom, inside and out. The trunk and leather interior still even smell new. I was at first considering selling it and buying another new (to me) toy car like a later model GT, but instead I'm considering doing a Coyote swap. I've had the car for so long and taken such good care of it that I'm a bit sentimental about it, and the money I would get by selling it isn't enough to make it worth it. It would be a much better deal for the buyer than for me. A Coyote swap, maybe using a Gen III crate motor and trans combo, is starting to sound like a much better, best-of-both-world way to move up to a Coyote Mustang but keep my existing car. With it being in like-new condition I think it would make a perfect starting point for a swap (no damage or rusty hardware, etc). I've been watching many Edge swap videos and reading project write-ups to educate myself and make a decision. Your video was very helpful. Thanks.
Dad had a 98v6 5spd and I have an 01 town car with a couple engine problems. Just recently the wheel broke off the axel and it's gonna be sitting for awhile. Thinking about just taking the engine out of the town car and giving it to the mustang.

How did you drop the 5.0 in without changing the k-member? I was always told they were too tall and you needed a different k member or a cowl hood to clear

Really thinking about swapping in a 4v into my 08 that currently has a 3v in it. I’m pretty happy with the 3v but I eventually want more power than these internals can handle. Just trying to decide which way ima go but I want to find another engine either a complete 4v or a 3v shortblock so I can build the bottom end to handle 10-12lbs of boost. Currently I’m pretty happy with the car but im already pushing the stock internals to their limit I’m sure. Pretty much full bolt on jlt cold air intake, underdrive pulleys, 3” exhaust no cats or mufflers, 1.75 long tube headers, Ford racing manifold, gt500 tb, hot rod cams, 4.10 gears, zex single nozzle wet kit 125hp, with a n/a and n2o Lito tune. So with all those parts already bought and on the car I kinda want to stay with the 3v but just build a good shortblock and put either a centrifugal supercharger or a single turbo on it. Every one around here seems to hate the 3v and says to go with the 4v but I’m already in pretty deep with the 3v and kinda like the idea of being the outkast no one ever builds bad ass 3v’s
@@DriftDreams242 they are most definitely the bastard child and I really don’t get it. I mean from the factory they make just as much n/a hp as any of the previous 4v motors. And mod for mod they will hang with a 4v. I guess it’s just the whole cam phaser problems.
@@jgrilla6084 yea only downside to using a v6 car is the rear end is a 7.5” not the 8.8 few other minor differences but it’ll go in the same way as it would a gt body.
Great video. If i were to swap in a carbureted distributor ignition 302W, would i still have to worry about the wiring? I have heard that the transmission wouldn't work without ECU information from the motor, but that may be another rumor like the K member, I often hear these 2 things mentioned in the same breath.

I got a 4.6 2v out a 1999 mercury and the guy pulled the motor and trans for me and the wiring harness and computer for $250 and I just swapped the motor mounts and im getting ready to pull the v6 and put the v8 in any tips on pulling out the v6 and also I got long tubes for the motor can I put em on the motor while dropping it in?

Its a bunch stuff to do it correctly and have everything work like factory. I just did this i had to change almost everything including the dash, brake pedal (hydroboost pedal is different than a brake booster pedal), master cylinder, radiator, radiator overflow, changed my k member just to be on the safe side, exhaust, blah blah blah you pretty much need a doner car like i did to make it easy
Do you need to change out the rear end?? Also do you have to ditch the AC/heat even if using a 4.6 2v from another mustang gt? Or is that going to be plug and play for the most part?
I’ve seen it but I thought the k manner was different between the actual sn95 and the new edge. I have a 99 so if I use 95 mounts they will work in a 99 I’ve seen your video but like I said you dropped the 5.0 in the sn95 I have a new edge so Im just wondering if the k members are the same ? Okay so I have a 99 new edge I bought with the 5.0 already swapped, motor mounts are just ruined .So your saying that the 79 thru 95 mounts I ordered will work on the 99 v6 model.
