    If you think about it logically, the hosts have no idea what each caller is going to call in with. They are pretty much blind. If anyone has an unfair advantage, it's the caller. They get to spend as much time as they want researching their specific topic, while the hosts have to respond on the fly with whatever they can remember at the time.

      Spaz Modicus wrt IQ, atheists are more intelligent. Ofc, that's just one metric and it's completely understandable given atheists are more scientific on average and agnostic atheism is the default position.
      I can understand the struggle with basic logic. It's interesting to listen to, ofc, because we're all very illogical in general. Indoctrination and confirmation bias and followed by cognitive dissonance during the show is what makes them look like they struggle with logic.

      Spoiled? Not really, they are simply concerned that if you get an inch you will destroy society and turn it into a bloodbath and/or cesspool of debauchery.
      If atheism was the way to go it would have happened and stayed happened. So far it has only lead to collapse of societies and wars.
      Some claim atheism just means no belief in God but suddenly all the non-believers are joining forces against religions? Would that be because they are trying to allow even more sexual misconduct and improper relations to be recognized?
      How long will society go on in that direction before it implodes or collapses under the weight of all that sex?

    • @peli_candude554
      @peli_candude554 Před 4 lety

      @MusicMadMaurice
      What you do in your bedroom isn't important at all. What you teach your children to do in the bedroom either by example or by having it taught in schools as an "acceptable lifestyle alternative" is another story.
      Now that sexuality is exposed as the necessary function that humans have to reproduce other humans it should be plain that doing anything else with their various body parts is little more than nonsense.
      You'd think that people who claim to be rational and reasonable would at least recognize their acts as something that should be kept to themselves and not broadcast so that children might think it's worthy of their attention.
      it's not.
      _I'd like to see your evidence that any society has collapsed due to people having fun in the dark._
      I'd like to see your evidence that a little fun in the dark is anything more than uncontrolled lust and not an indication that those out of control are able to actually lead a country anywhere but to the nearest bedroom.
      Rome fell for a few reasons, one of which was their value system was disrupted by Christianity. Christianity questioned their sexual perversions and other things they were doing and the Christians suffered for their pointing this out. They were relentlessly persecuted for several hundred years until Constantine converted and eventually made Christianity legal.
      Other things included not paying attention to what was going on around them because they were too busy in those dark bedrooms getting their jollies.
      Once Christianity started wagging fingers at them for being naughty things began to move forward. I'm surprised anyone would want to go back to the "dark bedroom ages".
      You can thank Christians any time you realize how important they were to creating things like education and the fields of study that lead to science being widely taught.
      Did you think maybe this came about by people in the dark having a bit of fun?

      I can appreciate wanting to reduce the influence of religion like removing prayer in schools (done) adding non-religious holidays to the calendar (done or in progress) and reducing the fear of homosexuality so that there is less violence against them (done).
      I agree with civil unions for those who wish to marry someone of the same sex (done) but do not agree that it is anything to do with the church or God.
      The origin of Mosaic law was about purification to focus on the task at hand and not running off to some dark bedroom to find sexual relief. There was hostility all around them and in order to survive they simply had to be very disciplined and practice the utmost self control.
      There is nothing wrong with that in my mind. In fact, we could get rid of quite a few social programs with a bit of encouragement to stand up and be responsible for themselves.
      Think about the impact that would have on things like abortion. We could reduce the 50 million a year dead baby count by a few million every year in North America alone with a bit of old fashioned prudence and taking responsibility.
      If there is a God that would make him very happy.
      Nothing wrong with keeping the spirit of love and life happy. If it means we stop telling kids that having sex is OK in any format then it shouldn't be any question at all what we should be doing. Short of giving them information on who they are and why they have the body parts they have it should not be something we entertain them with various possible lifestyles that might interest them like some kiddie menu at a fast food joint.
      Like Mom and Dad serving you what they have in the fridge and if they don't like it...starve in your dark room.
      But today that is considered child abuse.
      Coddling them too much is a much worse form of child abuse because we are raising a bunch of tyrant wannabees who will destroy society if they don't get their own way.
      Spare the rod and spoil the child.
      Bwahahahaha!

      Thank you also for the replies and civility.
      I agree that population growth and keeping the state (and church) in their proper place are critical to maintaining dominance or, at least, being able to resist the urge to open the doors to any and all who wish to come to this part of the world. We want to be able to pick and choose when possible as well as have room for any misplaced or displaced people should the need arise.
      Abstinence from sex to control births doesn't need to mean no sex, just limited access depending on the method used. The RCC doesn't like any form of BC but that doesn't mean that those who are trying to micromanage their overhead have to give in to the urges out of sync with their natural timing. Anyone who waited before getting married has adequate self control to roll over their desires to a more appropriate time. There are also many ways around that as anyone who breathes can attest. And that's without getting into the sticky details of the act.
      We do have a knack for finding pleasure when it is most needed to keep everyone happy. If nothing else. Sexual sins are expressed in terms of outside of marriage or those which do not have the potential for reproduction. More importantly this leads to the family that God considers a fruitful endeavor. Within those constraints it is quite possible to enjoy a very healthy sex life without expanding the family beyond the means of any couple.
      It all boils down to self control and focusing on the big picture. (says the guy who has never married and spent most of his life pursuing physical pressures and resisting the pleasures).
      I'm no saint, but I do have a reputation for at least trying to control myself...:) The urges are powerful and should not be left up to the weak minded to dabble with unattended. That wisdom, unfortunately, often comes too late for many and that is something we really need to try to improve so we don't have a weak society or weak nation.
      It has worked over the history of human society and I believe it was Johnathan Haidt that said religious influence is critical to successful societies. Finding the happy medium between atheists and theists can be a tricky navigation though. So persist we all must to keep everyone moving forward in harmony.

    • @peli_candude554
      @peli_candude554 Před 4 lety

      @MusicMadMaurice
      I've always been open minded about lifestyles as long as nobody is pushing their views on others. That's where I became involved in social issues decades ago but it wasn't about defending religion or condemning homosexuals.
      If a book is on a bookshelf for purchase by adults for their kids I don't mind at all because the market demand will determine the shelf life. If it is being used as part of a school curriculum that forces all children to accept it as part of a healthy approach to sexuality then it is not appropriate and I don't mind sounding like a hypocrite.
      I often think about what was available in my day growing up in that sexual revolution era and how mysterious and scary it all seemed. For me it was difficult to find information on anything of that nature so I feel the opening up of the information pipeline is an important step.
      It becomes a matter of reducing confusion and protecting children from becoming sex toys. Information at the right time when they start asking questions is not harmful as long as it is presented in a spirit of learning and appreciating what they may be feeling. Keeping them open and unafraid to ask questions is critical.
      The old "stone the homosexuals" may have been the only means available to demonstrate their proper sexual appreciation but today we have the internet where anyone can learn anything about sex they need to know and sometimes more than they really should be knowing.
      I really doubt that there was any need to actually stone anyone back in that time because their society was much more intensely monitored. Something we used to have in small towns and cities until the cities almost forced everyone to mind their own business because it wasn't such a tightly knit group.

    1) the Caller choses to call, The show does not call them
    2) the Caller gets to pick what he/she wants to talk about and the hosts have to be prepared on whatever the caller wants to talk about
    3) If the caller is not fully prepared to talk about what they call in then it is their fault not the show

      I'll just say that in addition to the caller knowinhg what they want to talk about, the caller also knows who they'll be talking to and how they typically handle calls while the hosts have no idea the kind of people who will call. For example the callers can know how each host handles bullshit but the hosts don't know what kind of bullshit they'll need to handle.

      Farrah Terrell The evidence is in the scriptures. When you read your history book in school did you trust it? Or assume as others that there were people who chronicled and wrote what they saw, and took it as truth. Bet you never questioned it at all! Yet when it comes to the Bible and it's history, prophecies, and wisdom we question it and God, vigorously.
      "Blessed are they that have not seen but do believe" was told to Thomas and the Apostles around him.
      Also; why do you think you need proof, when it's before your face daily and you deny it; and THEN you need proof from the writings?
      It'll never be enough for the atheist or agnostics that really don't want God in their lives. Be truthful for once!
      It's also funny how they want to judge God whom they don't believe in, to challenge them that do. Mostly to make themselves feel superior and as logic and reason minded.
      "A fool hath said in his heart, there is no God."

    • @VixenVolva
      @VixenVolva Před 6 lety +12

      Paul George first, The reason I trust historical facts is because multiple sources corroborate the same thing, where as the Bible only has a single source for the vast majority. If only one history book said that George Washington hunted vampires I’m by no means going to believe that single source, but if it’s written about by multiple different people in multiple different areas then I’m more apt to believe it. My father has his masters in history and prided himself in teaching me how to find what is most likely true and most likely false.
      Second, I’m not agnostic or atheist, I absolutely believe in God. However I understand why they want proof and I do not fault them for it. My belief in God comes not from the scripture but from particular experiences in my life, including being medically dead for 10 minutes because of an anaphylactic reaction. My guess is that *you* didn’t even entertain that idea and just went strait to assuming I was some “godless heathen.”

Except for the one time he acted all cheerful and godly as he called the previous caller (who had a pronounced Indian/Pakistani accent) a "curry eater".

      William Allman Not at all. It's precisely because I don't know whether he is a Christian bigot or an Atheist troll that I declare Poe's Law. (Of course, slightly modified to include kook Christians instead of just the traditional Creationists. You know, "spirit vs letter of the law" type thing)
      What I CAN say with absolute certainty is that the multiple names prove he is a liar and, therefore, not to be taken seriously either way.

    In case there's anyone out there like this caller who doubt the persecution some Atheists experience, I'd like to share a quick experience of my own. I almost got into a fist fight with my brother because of my Atheism. His daughter asked him if God really existed because my youngest brother told her he didn't, and he took that as an opportunity to attack the only Atheist he knew. Me. His younger brother. He called me a weirdo and a freak and told me to keep my mouth shut and keep my stupid beliefs to myself. The fear and anger brought about by the mere existence of Atheism brought him to a frothing rage and if it wasn't for our father stopping it, the assault would have turned physical. My father, by the way, agreed with my brother that I should keep my ideas to myself. Nobody is asking religious people to keep it to themselves. What we all want, every human, religious or not, is that the government does not enforce or endorse any stance on religion.

      They ought to be able to FLATTEN the atheistic position with such a force, such a power on their side....
      And yet, notice how few of them will actually pray for intervention? How few of them actually ask their god for help in that moment?
      Because even they're aware that their whiny little prayer wont be answered, even they know on some level that there's nobody up on high listening for their requests. The fact that they're not asking their primitive deity's favor is VERY telling of their own personal insecurities.

    Why do christians have such a hard time understanding such simple things? How could you not believe in god? How could they not believe in Mohammad? What's the point of an atheist show? What's the point of a christian show? What if you're wrong? Well, what if they're wrong? Easy, simple, questions that seem so hard for a christian's mind to comprehend.

    • @TruthHurts2u

      Educated BlackMan No? You do if another religion is right and you're wrong. You assume there are only two choices, your religion or atheism. Like I said, simple logic escapes you even though it was spelled out for you in part of the original post. You just proved my point. Thank you.

    • @Aristocratic13
      @Aristocratic13 Před 9 lety

      TruthHurts No I didn't, Christianity doesn't conflict with other religions *as far as them existing in the same world*. The bible acknowledges other Gods (false, idol, foreign, etc.). Nice try with that come back, but if I die rather there's a heaven or not, I will die with hope. I have nothing to lose.

    • @TruthHurts2u
      @TruthHurts2u Před 9 lety +1

      Educated BlackMan If christianity turns out to be wrong then it makes the bible wrong by default. If the bible is wrong, who cares how many gods it says there are, it's wrong. Just because religions may "exist in the same world" does not make them all right or equal. If we're supposed to be sacrificing goats to god every other week you're just as fucked as any atheist. Also if you think "Christianity doesn't conflict with other religions as far as them existing in the same world" and you'll go to heaven even if the Muslims are correct then you must also believe Muslims will go to heaven if your god is the correct one and they were wrong. Once again you prove common sense is in short supply among christians.

    • @Aristocratic13
      @Aristocratic13 Před 9 lety

      TruthHurts First off do you know what common sense is? Common sense is the ability to perceive and judge thing common amongst all people. Its common sense not to jump off a cliff, its common sense not to hold your breathe under water too long. Common sense not to flirt with another man's wife. All of these are instinctive, its common sense. Common sense wouldn't be "common" if it was related or based off people religious belief, duh
      Religion is your belief or practice. This is where my issue come on...criticize Christianity for all its worth, but criticize Christians? Why can't you respect other people's belief? I haven't called you out or even try to "convert" you. I'm just stating I have nothing to lose which further proves that Christian aren't this picture you pain us as.
      And if you read your passage you said "If" six times total. So you're in the same boat as me, if Christianity is wrong you have nothing to lose, if its right or other religions well...that's your choice, I respect your beliefs.

I grew up atheist in the deep south and felt constant isolation and pressure from family, friends, and co-workers if I simply said, I'm not religious. There is a presumption by a large number of religious people in the south that if you don't go to church than you don't have a moral compass, you are evil, you have been lead astray by the actual devil incarnate, and it's their job to save you. She didn't really understand how pushy, and difficult religious people could be until she spent some time in the south.

If you're in a room with 50 people who are all yelling about how the world is flat or how the sky is pink, it doesn't matter how many you're up against. If your argument had sound reasoning and is valid it will stand on it's own merit. If you can't stand multiple people questioning it it's probably a weak position.

      No, absolutely not. First of all, Christianity is the ones consistently trying to push their belief system down everybody's throat, and also Islam too. The problem is theists come to the arena picking the fights. Then, theists get pissed off, when they start losing the battle, and they have to realize how delusional their imaginary friend and belief system sounds like. The point you don't get, is that Christianity and Islam is more than happy to preach to their own choir. But, are not open to other schools of thought. For me..I have had no problem having Christianity or Islam come around and impose their will around me. Because I have no problem about giving them the reality SmackDown when they keep invading people space. And that's what Christianity and Islam does not understand. For some reason, I don't think you understand..
