Fantastic insight into the development of the Link roaster and why it is such a useful tool for people right across the coffee industry. Thanks for such an amazing interview.❤

Just another question about the app - after I enter my profile pack (/For example filter) and bean density the app comes back and suggests a profile number and suggested development %. Am I free to set the development % to whatever I want? It seems that the app is always suggesting a lighter roast, say 10-12% but this is too light for my taste. If it suggested 10-12% can I set the machine to 18% for example?

I made a detailled video on the Nucleus Link. You can just adapt the RTD% when chosing the roasting profile at the machine: czcams.com/video/t2HUo7Sn7dk/video.htmlsi=Dg_v2MsO1koRTdFT

Could you do a show on roasting decaf on the hot top roaster?

You can use a standard profile. In general with Decafs, you should have a bit a lower preheat temperature und be a bit more careful with heat in the first part of the roast (but not too low to prevent baking). Decafs look much darker which can be misleading so you can go for a bit a darker colour also for the roasted coffee.

Hello, I have ordered LINK and I believe that the selection of moisture content in the app is a very important requirement. I hope to open this option (almost all traders have this instrument, and obtaining this number is becoming easier), but I do not have a channel to contact them. I hope you can provide feedback to them. Thank you very much!

Sam did thousands of roasts and analysed them and came to the conclusion that density is the factor that has the highest impact. Since at the same time the system has to be user friendly, that is the factor, the LINK works with successfully.
The moisture content is being taken into consideration since it influences the density of a coffee directly.
