لوقا15باب11تا24آیت:
“ پھر اس نے(یسو ع مسیح نے) کہا کہ کسی شخص کے دو بیٹے تھے۔ ان میں سے چھوٹے نے باپ سے کہا اے باپ! مال کا جو حصہ مجھے پہنچتا ہے دے دے۔ اس نے اپنا مال متاع انہیں بانٹ دیا۔ اور بہت دن نہ گزرے کہ چھوٹا بیٹا اپنا سب کچھ جمع کر کے دور دراز ملک کو روانہ ہوا اور وہاں اپنا مال بد چلنی میں اڑا دیا۔ جب سخت ختم کر چکا تو اس ملک میں سخت کال پڑااور وہ محتاج ہونے لگا۔ پھر اس ملک کے ایک باشندے کے ہاں جا پڑا۔ اس نے اسے اپنے کھیتوں میں سور چرانے بھیجا۔ اور اسے آرزو تھی کہ جو پھلیاں سور کھاتے تھے انہی سے اپنا پیٹ بھرے مگر اسے کوئی نہ دیتا تھا۔ پھر اس نے ہوش میں آکر کہا میرے باپ کے بہت سے مزدوروں کو افراط سے روٹی ملتی ہے اور میں یہاں بھوکا مر رہا ہوں۔ میں اٹھ کر اپنے باپ کے پاس جاﺅں گا اور اس سے کہوں گا اے باپ! میں آسمان کا اور تیری نظر میں گناہگار ہوا۔ اب اس لائق نہیں رہا کہ پھر تیرا بیٹا کہلاﺅں۔ مجھے اپنے مزدوروں جیسا کرلے۔ پس وہ اٹھ کر اپنے باپ کے پاس چلا ۔ وہ ابھی دور ہی تھا کہ اسے دیکھ کر اس کے باپ کو تر س آیا اور دوڑ کر اسے گلے لگا لیا اور چوما۔ بیٹے نے اس سے کہا اے باپ! میں آسمان کا اور تیری نظر کا گناہگار ہوا۔ اب اس لائق نہیں رہا کہ پھر تیرا بیٹا کہلاﺅں۔ باپ نے اپنے نوکروں سے کہا اچھے سے اچھا لاس جلد سے جلد نکال کر اسے پہناﺅ اور اس کے ہاتھ میں انگوٹھی اور پاﺅں میں جوتی پہناﺅ۔ اور پلے ہوئے بچھڑے کو لاکر ذبح کرو تا کہ ہم کھا کر خوشی منائیں۔ کیونکہ میرا یہ بیٹا مردہ تھا اب زندہ ہوا۔ کھو گیا تھا اب ملا ہے۔ پس وہ خوشی منانے لگے۔ “
