Debeli kuk Velebit

Debeli kuk je, unatoč za Velebit skromnoj visini, iznimno lijep razgledni vrh sa širokim vidikom orijentiranim prema moru. Nalazi se malo sjeverozapadno od prostrane visoravni Stap na kojoj je planinarsko sklonište "Tatekova koliba", a sjeverno od kamena Čučavca.
Despite its height, relatively modest for Velebit, Debeli kuk is an extraordinarily nice viewpoint, with a wide view oriented towards the sea. The peak is located slightly northwest of the wide plateau of Stap with the mountain shelter Tatekova koliba, and north of the site called kamen Čučavac. The area between Visočica and the peak area above Paklenica is not characterized by high peaks, and the main hiking destinations are oriented to the littoral side of the mountain. This karst terrain includes an interesting series of several wide forested valleys and large karst fields that served for livestock grazing until the second half of the 20th century.
The peak offers a beautiful view of the wide southern area of Velebit and of the sea and the island of Pag.
Note:
Although the Velebit Mountain Range is situated on the coast, it is known for unstable weather even durnig the Summer season.
In winter be careful of very low temperatures, extreme bora wind and heavy snow.
