carbine has always been underrated imo i would say it deserves second place, great looking, well rounded, the fastest reload, it just lacks in ammo capacity. (my personal ranking) 4. Lichfield Repeater 3. Lancaster Repeater 2. Carbine Repeater 1. Evans Repeater
Ammo capacity is way more valuable than reload speed. Obviously all of the guns are capable of killing people pretty effectively (especially if you're good with headshots), so none of them suck. But compared to the rest of them, fourth place is where it belongs. With the lower damage and ammo capacity, it's not great with body/limb shots. And if you can land headshots well enough, you might as well just get a gun with more ammo capacity. I can't think of any good reason to use it over any other repeater.
@@Aaron_HD lancanster lacks in reload speed, evans lacks in damage, Litchfield lacks in range. While carbine doesn’t excel at anything it doesn’t lack in anything either, so well it’s not the best if you have a certain play style it’s easily the most well rounded and there’s no situation it’s not good in, all the other rifles have weaknesses but carbine can be good in any situation, if you have moderate skill then you can use the carbine repeater easily and kick ass with it in any situation with other rifles you can usually do even better but if you get into a bad situation with them you’re pretty much fucked and it’s for this reason i’ve always loved carbine.
@@TomatoMan90 That's fair. It is pretty well rounded. I always go with the Litchfield for short to medium range combat, and the bolt action rifle for longer range. Since you can carry two large weapons, I find it unnecessary to have a jack of all trades that excels at nothing in particular, when you could just have two guns that excel at what the other doesn't. It'd definitely rank higher if you could only carry one gun.
At least to me? Carbine is close to being first place because it is really good! The second most damaging, great stats overall and even if you can't hold a lot? The reload is so fast it literally doesn't have it matter that it reloads more often when it kills in good three, two or one shot cus of it's overall well balanced stats
In real life the Evans had some serious design issues, mostly around how the rifle reloads and holds it’s ammunition. The Lichfield is essentially a .44 Henry repeater, which was a rimfire cartridge. Rimfire is generally considered less reliable, and the Henry’s lack of forward grip meant the rifle got extremely hot to hold after successive rounds. The carbine is modeled after the Spencer’s repeater. Not a bad rifle by any stretch, but not considered the best. The Lancaster is modeled after the Winchester 1866. It’s widely considered to be one of the most iconic rifles ever produced and even reproductions are extremely coveted for their smooth action, accuracy and reliability. There for my list is as follows: 1. Lancaster 2. Carbine 3. Lichfield 4. Evans
Nah the Lancaster is objectively the second best weapon in the game. Maybe in single player it’s good, but in online the thing has perfect accuracy and bloom compared to every other weapon.
Omgggg fr tho it's my immediate go to in gunfights if the ppl im fighting aren't lag switching it gets headshots like no other it's accuracy makes up for its lack of strength
@@Mr.MANN1234 it does less damage on body shots though. Lancaster two taps while the Evans three taps. The Lancaster is also a quarter more accurate by default and you can maximize the accuracy to 100 with improved iron sights which makes it the best for landing quick headshots with free aim. Evans to me is just not worth the extra 12 bullets considering the downsides. Plus, most firefights are over before you reach the fourteenth bullet of the Lancaster. You have ample time to reload in between tbh, and that’s without Dead Eye instantly reloading your weapons in single player.
@@Mr.MANN1234 And the Lancaster has 14, and ammo count is wholly irrelevant in this game when flicking on dead eye for a millisecond will fully reload anyways, plus if you need 26 shots in a fight you’re actually just horrible at shooting.

You are delusional if you think anything other than the Lancaster should be #1 😂 Litchfield is worst by far! Worst accuracy in the game. I hit more shots with a shotgun at 100 yards than that pathetic Litchfield. Unless you are using deadeye constantly the Litchfield is the worst gun in the game. Its decent in Online if you're using Paint it Black constantly because of its high damage output. Other than that its trash! Carbine gets the 3rd spot because it has a quick reload and decent damage tbh. Evans isnt bad but the reload takes forever due to its high ammo capacity and it has worse accuracy than the Lancaster. That reload will get you killed in Online. Lancaster has the best accuracy of all 4 and has the 2nd best damage behind the Litchfield. Lancaster is so good you dont even really need deadeye to get constant headshots. So given all these facts idk how in the hell you could rank the Evans and Litchfield above the Lanny? Whatever you're drinking I want some too so I can take a trip to la la land once in awhile as well 🤣
That’s just your aim fam. I don’t miss with the Litchfield and with Express it’s usually one shot one kill. Litchfield is also better for repeated shots from the hip. Lancaster is also ugly in my opinion.
@@pharoahlewis4668 the lancaster is the best looking one by far, its literally just the winchester 1897 (i think) and when it comes to aim the litchfield is just shit, its like a 1700s musket with a faster firing speed
I think you are not that skillful. Evan repeater is above them all, it will op when you are using scope it applies with other repeaters. So yes number 1 should be evan then lancaster
As someone who aims strictly for headshots accuracy is a must have stat for me. Lancaster was my baby in the early days of RDO before the Evans was released. Evans is a tad less accurate but 26 bullets is a huge yes
I personally think that the list goes like this: 1. Lancaster 2. Carbine 3. Evans 4. Litchfield The litchfield literally cannot hit anything, the evans feels solid but i think the reload is too slow, the carbine is soild too and has a really fast reload, and the lancaster just feels the best to use and is the most well rounded
The Evans also has probably the most accurate iron sights. The Carbine is weird, the Lancaster is okay but sometimes gets blurry, the Litchfield has too small of a tiny of iron sights, but the Evans sight is clear enough to aim with and is easy to use.
No matter what ranking it is, the Lancaster will always be my favorite repeater cause it's so iconic for a western game or movie, it's so powerful, looks good and you can get it pretty quickly at the start of the game❤
I’m sick of all these Lancaster meatriders bro, it’s a mid ass gun the reload takes so long that by the time it’s reloaded the gang has already disbanded. Not to mention it’s shitty fucking damage
Bro yall rdr2 fans gotta stop glazing the Lancaster and Litchfield. Yes they are both good but they both are like almost the same and the Evans is also good maybe even better. But quit saying that his information sucks and stuff cause its mostly true. Yall gotta move on from the lancaster and litchfield.
The Lancaster is the best for me cause the sound is just ear candy, also idk why but on controller when u auto lock it’s just so easy to hit headshots with it
The Litchfield Repeater would be an amazing option, if it weren't for its terrible accuracy and slow time to stabilize aim. Aiming while moving is just as wide if not wider than the carbine repeater, and unlike both the carbine and lancaster repeaters, the litchfield repeater has the widest aim from consecutive shots. Especially while hipfiring. The carbine repeater is not a particularly bad repeater, but it isn't outright the best repeater. It has the lowest magazine in its class at 7 rounds, but its time to stabilize aim is decent enough to be usable in PVE applications. This is a little bit of lancaster and litchfield, as moving while aiming gives a wider cone, almost just like the litchfield, but accuracy in consecutive shots nearly match the lancaster repeater. Its hipfire is decent as well, and the reloads are the quickest in its class. The lancaster repeater is by far the best for quick use and ease of handling, and boasts the tightest accuracy cones in the game. Time to stabilize is quick, as the general cone is already small enough to hit medium-distance targets. Consecutive shots hardly broaden your aim, and moving while shooting doesn't kill much of your accuracy, unlike with the carbine and litchfield. Hipfire on this repeater is so good that you can hit targets with it from borderline close range. In terms of damage and damage alone, the litchfield is the best, lancaster is middle, and carbine is worst, but in red dead online, damage is absolutely not everything. Even the varmint rifle can kill an npc if you're hitting headshots as you should be, and because handling is more important than just raw damage, for quick headshots, the lancaster repeater is the best repeater to buy for PVE and even PVP applications.
More detailed analysis: 1. Lancaster have a *slightly* lower damage output than the carbine repeater and the most accurate. But it is overall a jack of all trades weapon that's preferred by many for it's generic appearance and reliability. (Is also easy to find due to it being obtainable FREE by completing a stranger mission in Rhode's gunsmith) 2. The Carbine repeater has the fastest reload out of all of the repeaters (which sorta makes up for it's 7 rounds capacity but it can be put to last by using deadeye which reloads anything instantly.) So it's more preferable to be used by some players in online since dead eye won't reload the repeater unlike in story mode. 3. Litchfield Repeater has the highest damage out of all the repeaters and often have the ability to one shot enemies with express ammo types. This comes at a cost of accuracy which is bad but more manageable than the carbine repeater. 4. Evans repeater has the highest ammo count out of all the guns in the game at 26 rounds. Has mediocre damage but predictably the slowest reload time out of every gun (excluding using dead eye) So in my opinion: Story mode: 1. Evans Repeater 2. Lancaster Repeater 3. Litchfield Repeater 4. Carbine Repeater Online mode: 1. Lancaster Repeater 2. Evans Repeater 3. Carbine Repeater 4. Litchfield Repeater
Personally I think the Springfield Rigel is the best because it can drop an enemy with one shot but you have to be quick to cover because you need to chamber another round and that takes a second
I'm currently lingering in chapter 2, roaming around, hunting, gathering and exploring, and I'm perfectly fine with 2 Cattleman, a Springfield and a Lancaster. No O'Driscoll, Raider or Murfree shall be spared 😄
The Lancaster definitely does not pack more of a punch than the carbine repeater. That gun is honestly underrated; it’s reload speed is easily the best of any of the repeaters and it packs a good punch. I can use it to the end game and even into the post game with no problems.
As someone who has all the repeaters and has used all of them, I'd say that from worst to best carbine,Litchfield, evans, and then lancaster. Litchfield Reticle is insanely bad, and you can see it in the gameplay

As someone who aims strictly for headshots accuracy is a must have stat for me. Lancaster was my baby in the early days of RDO before the Evans was released. Evans is a tad less accurate but 26 bullets is a huge yes
Lancaster has quick reload, which I’ll be honest, that has saved my skin multiple times now
The Lancaster's fast reload and shot speed has saved my ass so many times. I'm frankly terrible at FPS, so that gun is my saving grace.
never let bro cook again
Too late
@@dukemeiser19 😭
this has gotta be a troll video with the amount of misinformation ☠️☠️☠️
yea itnis
so lancaster is best right?😭
Evan’s is number one bc of the firing speed and accuracy but u need like four bullets to kill someone (only one headshot tho)
First content creator that doesn't glaze the Lancaster like a donut
lancaster ain’t allat
Spencer repetaer is the best for me
I personally think that the list goes like this:
1. Lancaster
2. Carbine
3. Evans
4. Litchfield
The litchfield literally cannot hit anything, the evans feels solid but i think the reload is too slow, the carbine is soild too and has a really fast reload, and the lancaster just feels the best to use and is the most well rounded
*YOU* cannot hit anything, not the litchfield
Litchfield express rounds go crazy. One shot kill (doesn’t have to be the head)
The Landcaster carried me throughout the entire game, it is a disservice to put in 3
No way bro put lancaster in 3
My lancaster is the most damage dealing repeater
Finally some more red dead again.
A Lancaster, two golden revolvers of your choice, and a pump action is all you will ever need. I guess having a rifle for hunting is good too.
The Litchfield is really good. Yes it may be inaccurate, but its really good once you get that timing on when it zeros in.
carbine repeater reloads the fastest, why is that not the best
That barely means anything, with the Evans you probably will barely need to reload
Carbine Repeater was literally my favorite weapon in the game. Criminally underrated for being the best Repeater.
Agreed. It can be one of the best weapons in the game if you know how to properly utilize its strengths, of which it has many.
Have 600 kills (450 headshots) with it. My setup was:
Sawed-off Shotgun/Volcanic Pistol
Carbine Repeater
Carcano Rifle/Bow
I used evans soon as I could because of how many bullets. It after taking a potent tonic wipes out full on gangs real quick
@@hobbylobby7967 🍷🗿
Litchfield looks like the Volcanic Pistol had a growth spurt
took the roids
Dude you are a genius, I absolutely love this list, I hate it when people are like “ Lancaster Carrys !!!”
yes yes
It does in fact carry
@@rexosaurus3610Evans carrys
Evans my boahh
@@rexosaurus3610 Evan’s Carry’s
The Evans also has probably the most accurate iron sights. The Carbine is weird, the Lancaster is okay but sometimes gets blurry, the Litchfield has too small of a tiny of iron sights, but the Evans sight is clear enough to aim with and is easy to use.
it’s aight
Carbine is a good one.. but Litchfield is just pure magic.
i prefer both the Lancaster and the Evans
I like the Litchfield the most and Lancaster last
You wouldn’t believe how good the carbine repeater can be in free aim. If you’re a good shot, it can be great in a skirmish with the police.
Sounds fun
The Evans is such an amazing Repeater. Love it!
🍷🗿
More detailed analysis:
1. Lancaster have a *slightly* lower damage output than the carbine repeater and the most accurate. But it is overall a jack of all trades weapon that's preferred by many for it's generic appearance and reliability. (Is also easy to find due to it being obtainable FREE by completing a stranger mission in Rhode's gunsmith)
Has mediocre damage but predictably the slowest reload time out of every gun (excluding using dead eye)
So in my opinion:
Story mode:
1. Evans Repeater
2. Lancaster Repeater
3. Litchfield Repeater
4. Carbine Repeater
Online mode:
1. Lancaster Repeater
2. Evans Repeater
3. Carbine Repeater
Ngl the varmit rifle is amazing for nailing headshots
The Lancaster definitely does not pack more of a punch than the carbine repeater. That gun is honestly underrated; it’s reload speed is easily the best of any of the repeaters and it packs a good punch. I can use it to the end game and even into the post game with no problems.
carbine is underrated
As someone who has all the repeaters and has used all of them, I'd say that from worst to best carbine,Litchfield, evans, and then lancaster. Litchfield Reticle is insanely bad, and you can see it in the gameplay
Lancaster for online, Evans for story.
Not sure why they feel different, but for me they do
I am so happy to see Evan's getting #1. Its so much fun to use especially when you just spam from the hip. Lancaster really is overrated
Fr
I prefer the Evans just because of the sound.
I used to prefer Evan's repeater till I used Lancaster repeater. Easily my third favorite gun after Cattleman and pump action.
i still prefer evans
@@dukemeiser19 fair enough.
Evans be like: 😐
