I agree with you on the records debate, i too have a lot of records and tapes and CDs from the late 70s and 80s and 90s, never got into streaming as I'm old school lol love it when you open up an album and the artwork. great video matey.

Like what you said about the music issue. I got a simple turntable which I plug in to a really good soundbar. I started collecting all the Maiden albums and it really gives a lot of pleasure, opening all the artwork and all the goodies inside. I won't buy everything on vinyl but just my favourite albums. You are right about streaming it just feels flat and soulless.
Yes that’s what I’ve been missing the last decade or two, as I’ve been relying on streaming and Spotify it seems lazy and very clinical, the fun seems to have gotten lost in the art of music and movie owning
It's about balancing the two elements between digital/streaming vs physical. For instance a cd/vinyl player is all well and good in a car/home but kinda problematic when I walk everywhere and listen to music that way 😅 so I like both forms depending on the situation. Equally similar to streaming films, I only stream when I'm unsure if I would want to own something and I can check beforehand - believe me there has been films I've rented that I would have been so disappointed if I had bought them instead.
Likewise there's films I've streamed/rented that I immediately purchased physically because I loved them that much. There is a place for both and I don't get this argument for/against - both can exist side by side imo and it stops me going into blind buying mode and allows me to curate my choices better.
I can certainly understand trying a movie digitally to see if it’s worth owning, as you can avoid buying all blind buys and then finding out you hate them. Personally, I don’t go out anywhere listening to music other than in the car, I like to be aware of my surroundings

Yeah Alan I just find no enjoyment in the preparation to play music, you don’t get to admire the artwork or read lyrics and notes and then physically handling the media itself, even pressing an eject button or lowering the stylus arm all adds to the experience
In BHF there was a hmv premium of The Big Sleep. Its worth £8 cash at cex or £12 credit.

Have you thought about checking about the charity shops or your local Asdaaaaa for something to go with your Harry potter or Jurassic Park box sets. I bet you could at least get some dinosaur teddies from a charity shop and I got a dinosaur coat hanger from home bargains for my daughter's bedroom. Perfect place to go if you don't want to pay too much

Really enjoyed this video mate. I actually would have brought that Seven VHS lol. I've started picking up a few of my favourite movies on VHS just for the nostalgia. I'm 100% with you on the music front too pal, I did have a HUGE CD collection and a pretty decent sized vinyl collection too and I stupidly sold all of them to go digital with music and I'm CONSTANTLY hit with tracks not being on there at all and, like you, missing tracks on albums. It's infuriating. I'm going to go back to picking up CDs again and the odd vinyl (although as you'll know, new vinyls are rather pricey!). Would not be against seeing more music content on this channel too pal! All the best.
Yeah mate missing tracks on Spotify is a flipping nightmare, not to mention I found a few tracks skipping around the other day so probably bad uploads. I’ve just had a new CD sound system delivered so looking forward to moving away from streaming music and enjoying music on disc again
That's interesting Taylor Swift releases her albums on cassette. I kinda want one now but sold out on Amazon.
Yeah the last few albums came out on cassette. I believe they also released the Bohemian Rhapsody movie soundtrack on tape too
You could get a small CD player for the car that works via USB. The older I get the more interested I get in digital. Seriously. I barely have time to watch anything more than once and there's too much on streaming to get through. I collect movies on I-Tunes if they're cheap, but I've slowed way down on that. I have too many. I only listen to vinyl at Christmas now, sold my other records, I prefer making my own playlists on CZcams and Echo. 80% plus, people stream only, music and films. Vinyl is still very niche.
Don’t forget Vinyl outsold CD sales in 2022 so it’s still growing but the more young people discover the joys of owning and playing vinyl it’s going to keep on growing in popularity. I must admit I’ve bought very few CDs the last few years as I was relying on Spotify and Alexa, and this is falling into the ‘lazy’ trap the same as streaming movies. Nobody wants to get up off the sofa anymore and put a disc in their machines, we’re definitely going the way of those passengers at the end of Wall-E
@@BigPauly some people are lazy, but others aren't. I'm all digital but I work out six days a week. It just depends. To me once the movie is playing there is no difference, you're paying for artwork and a case, which is fine, a physical collection does look nice. Last year I was at my parents house and video calling my then girlfriend. There were DVD's on bookshelves and she said, what is this a museum? lol! Vinyl is growing in popularity (still niche), and if you want to buy a hi-fi system to enjoy your old CD's / records, then you should, and have fun doing so. I've been there and done that, it was fun, but I sold them for reasons. They end up collecting dust after a bit. I'm someone who needs to be playing that movie or that record or it gets sold.

Great blu ray hunting video as usual Pauly I might pick up that Children of the Corn remake as well but it's probably not as good as the original Linda Hamilton version. I'm watching The Creator on Disney + so looking forward to that.
It the same with video games. You don't get the same feeling when you download a game. Just like game getting rid of there trade-ins. That means new physical games will disappear a lot sooner than we think. As game only make £3 on a new game. Once that new game goes on sale game make nothing. Physical games pre-owned made game a lot more money.
Yes so it’s affecting the second hand market as well. Soon they’ll be no one selling anything on eBay, CeX will close and charity shops will lose out on money all because we’re too lazy to use physical media and just want to sit on the sofa and press a button

I am very pro physical media, i buy alot of films every year, i'll buy a film that's on a streaming service regardless becuase i want it, i am also still a collector of music physical media but the problem is there is only so much space in a house lolol i have been listening and collecting music, (CD and vinyl) all my life and i'm at a point and have been for a few years where i just can't house anymore and this is the issue now, i do subscribe to spotify, i listen to hundreds of artists and spend an awful lot of my time with headphone's in listening to music at home, at work, in my car, out and about, but physical music media cannot keep up with my lisitening habits, i still buy physical media of the bands and artists who i have been supoorting all my life becuase i like the special editions and still want to support certain artists as any fan should, i have to say though i get no less enjoyment out of listneing to an amazing album whether i am streaming it or putting in a disc, the music is still the music and that's the all important bit at the end of the day, but i will always be very pro physical media, i just don't have a big enough space at home to keep up with it as i wish i could (or a wife who will let me keep storing mountains of CD's and vinyls), interesting topic though !!!! 👍

I’ve been collecting and playing vinyl for a few years now. I have music on Apple,but not played them for years.
Yeah I’m the same with Apple but with the movies. I was in a phase where I was buying digital copies for movies so I still have a hundred or two, but I haven’t watched them or bought anymore for about 2 years now as I’m a physical buyer
HMV in Boston, Lincolnshire closing down due to a dying high street in the town! Sign of the times I’m afraid!
They’ll probably open another branch somewhere else in a few months, mainly due to high rents in the area. We could also just end up with HMV stores only in major towns or city’s. The HMV stores in my local towns are too busy daily to close any stores and are always full of people buying movies and vinyl
I still buy Cd's and vinyls.
When I was a kid I would buy the album to every artist that I liked, and now I just buy from the ones I love. I buy only from Hmv or from the artist directly. It must be at least 13 years or so that I last used Amazon in any form.
And on a separate note.. Bring back Blockbuster!! 📼

Online is useful when an item is sold out in store, but there's nothing I need in life enough to use Amazon.
I worked for both Disney Store and Paperchase, so know how much people really enjoy going into a store and seeing the products first hand.
Those record “all in one” players ruin vinyl,because you can’t set them up properly.

Yep the cartridges totally wreck the vinyl. Far better getting a separate system. Setting up means alignment of the needle and correct weight of the tone arm.

Honestly the Children of The Corn remake is pretty decent. Definitely one of the best of the franchise, which admittedly isn’t saying much but it isn’t as bad as most made it out to be imo

Pauly, I watched “The Marsh King’s Daughter” i’m not too familiar with your girl Daisy, other than Star Wars movies she was good in this movie, but to me It played out like a Hallmark movie. I mean it was a one time watch but I’d never watch it again. Hope you’re well and staying safe.
After Star Wars Daisy tends to stick to low budget character films rather than the big budget blockbuster. I’m really looking forward to seeing her in ‘Sometimes I think about dying’
have you not seen the blu ray and dvd collector recently? He has been doing a lot of music /CD videos . Some of the bands he's shown there I've never heard of before. .
Oh and I was wondering have you ever seen heat with Robert de Nero before? I was curious about it after some told me GTA 5 used it to create a mission in the game. Just wondering if it's any good.

Great vid, I agree with spotify. I am 18 yrs old and love vinyl and cd and you can't beat the feeling of putting them on or in the player. I do live spotify as it's always there when I'm out but physical is the best. Same goes with bluray and 4k 👍

Btw please don’t buy a turntable from hmv for your vinyl. They are extremely cheaply made and don’t have any counterbalance on the stylus arm. Buying these cheap decks will damage and scratch up all your expensive vinyls real quick. The crosley turntables in particular are really cheap and nasty. They are a great way to ruin a vinyl collection really quickly though. Stay clear of crosley big P. Do some research into the importance of a properly counterbalanced stylus arm. Just a heads up for ya good sir.
