    I'm a licensed massage therapist and I use this on painful trigger points and to break up deep myofascial restrictions. Not all pain is inflammation that needs to be avoided. More often than not, pain in a tight muscle is either a trigger point or the result of lactic acid that is trapped in the tight muscles.

    • @BodyFixExercises
      @BodyFixExercises  Před 2 lety +10

      Exactly. Ischaemic compression and percussion massage guns work wonders on lactic acid. The results can be very quick.

    • @BodyFixExercises
      @BodyFixExercises  Před 2 lety +3

      It depends on what is causing the nerve root compression, but in general, it should be fine. Just do it gently the first day and see how you go. If it's sore to do, or sore the next day, that indicates inflammation or nerve hypersensitivity, so you should stop. If it feels fine though, enjoy. Just stick to a maximum of 2 minutes a day in one area though.

    • @BodyFixExercises
      @BodyFixExercises  Před 2 lety +6

      You can do it on yourself, but lying face down, or on your side, would be the best for this. (When you're sitting or standing the muscles are not relaxed.)

  • @madeleinegibbons4173
    @madeleinegibbons4173 Před 2 lety +1

    What about using it over the lung area on one's back, eg copd , whizzing or just breathing problems

    • @BodyFixExercises
      @BodyFixExercises  Před 2 lety +1

      Running a massage machine down each side of the spine in the mid back will also help to loosen the rib joints, which need to move for breathing. So that could help. But I doubt that using it further out on the rib cage will help much.

    • @BodyFixExercises
      @BodyFixExercises  Před 2 lety +2

      The plastic heads are a bit of a gimmick really. They are too hard and risk bruising or inflamming the muscles. You can use the hollow head for use around the Sacroiliac joint and Sterno-clavicular joints. The only time I ever use a plastic head is the arc/bow shaped head on arms and lower leg.

      Lol. Just tell them to go up and down the bands of muscle on each side of the spine and try to avoid where the bones stick out.
      Or lie on your side and do it on yourself.
