In the present case you have a judge who, during the COVID lock-down, issued a emergency court order mandating masks. That in itself was on shaky legal grounds. Now the lock-down is long over yet the Sheriff's Department is still enforcing a court order issued during an emergency that no longer exists. Courts do not make laws, that's the sole responsibility of the legislature. Maryland's state legislature has not enacted a masking mandate law. This is a huge over-reach by the Sheriff's Department. You do not have to have specific business at the county court house in order to be present at the county court house. In their haste to eject her from the court house for trespassing because they said she had no business to conduct there they were violating every defendant's 6th Amendment right to "a speedy and public trial." The public is absolutely welcome to visit the court house in order to fulfill the 6th Amendment right to a public trial. In fact they violated her 6th Amendment right to be in any courtroom because the public also has a 6th Amendment right to view court proceedings in the interest of justice as a watchdog. When the Deputies ejected and ultimately arrested her because in their faulty judgement she had no specific business to conduct at the court house they conspired, under color of law, to deny civil rights to third parties.
