This story reminds me of the young lady who was being issued a ticket for speeding. As the cop was finishing up the ticket, the entitled young woman said to him, "I thought you all didn't give tickets to women who were beautiful." He said to her, "We don't. Here's your ticket." That cop is my hero!

Drinking & Driving is one thing that there is absolutely ZERO excuses for. I USED to think my dad was a little over cautious, even if he had 1 drink from his beer, he absolutely refused to drive. He didn’t care, if it was 1 drink from a beer & driving down the road, he absolutely refuses to drive (I use past tense bc he doesn’t drink anymore. He wasn’t ever a heavy drinker, just when he would be working outside all day, he would have a beer or two after he was done). I/we would tell him “Dad your fine to drive. Your not under the influence, legally your fine” but he absolutely refused to. He would either have me drive him to town if he needed to go (or my mom or sister) or he would just tell us what he needed. Now that I’m older I have so much more respect for him for NEVER driving. He said it was NEVER worth the risk of hurting someone else, himself or risking loosing his license. Just one more reason why I have so much love & respect for that man.

This is the one crime I hate above all others because there's no reason a person needs to drive when their drinking especially in today's world with so many ways to get around. I have no pity on these people especially the ones I've arrested more then once for DUI. The punishment should be more severe especially for repeat offenders. The man that killed my mother and critically injured my father and 3 of my siblings walked away without a scratch. That woman with (purportedly) Behcet Syndrome reminds me of a joke:
A bloke is stopped by the police who suspect drunk driving. The policeman brings out a breathalyser and tells the bloke "blow into the tube". "Can't do that", says the bloke. "I have asthma", and gets a card out from his wallet proving it. "OK", says the copper. "We'll take a blood sample at the police station. "Can't do that", replies the bloke. "I'm a haemophiliac", and produces another card.
"Right", says the copper. "I'd like you to walk a straight line between your car and mine". "Nope", the bloke says. "Can't do that either". "Why not? Club foot? Poorly knee? Sore hip?" "No" replies the bloke. "I can't walk a straight line when I'm this drunk".

I'm from the UK and our media loves to criticise American police for being aggressive and reactive. Although there are times where they do deserve such criticisms it appears to me that American police 99% of the time do attempt to treat people with respect and a big part of it is your attitude towards them. Lies and resisting their instructions are definitely a big part of a lot of the examples you see where people wouldn't have been shot or harmed if they'd have complied. Argue it in the courts but let the officer do his/her job.
