There is a hill past the Water Wheel NE of Payson before the little town around the main Plateau/Mesa. There is a couple of dirt roads on the north side of the road with big boulders near the paved road. Well if you park there to the south is a whole mountain side of geodes.

Great video. Geodes everywhere. Your glammed when your not glammed, but the brains keep sneaking out. Thanks for the geology tid bits. Have fun moving (HA). Keep the rocky goodness coming. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒

Very interesting samples Elley. As you're panning the camera over the landscape I see so many potential specimens ! Quite an amazing place for rock-hounds for sure ! Can't wait for your next video, when you get a chance to clean the up and see what's inside. Be safe out there !

Another excellent video Elley! I was surprised that you did not find more fossils in that area; there are some great specimens of composita brachiopods and rugose corals preserved in a really cool red chert not far from where you were collecting.
Those "geodes" are best cut instead of smashed with a hammer, as most are solid and/or have smaller vugs with druzy crystals inside. I am looking forward to a follow-up video of what you find inside them once you get a chance to cut them with your saw!
Lastly, I hope you are just moving to a better home and not moving out of Arizona. -We need you here to keep the rocks happy!

Elley has perfectly matching beautiful hair and sunglasses! And those geodes and crystals are so pretty I love the hot desert. Just a suggestion, but have you explored the cataclysmic theory of flood across the North American continent as compared to the incremental theory? I'm convinced that it took a massive flood in brief years washed millions of tons of gravel from The Dakotas, Utah Wyoming and deposited these on the former seabed at the Nevada coastline into the ocean, before tectonic plate activity raise the Sierra Nevada's

HaHa I have a whole 5 gallon bucket of those geodes and nodules from out near that location near payson in the garage, I actually like the outside of them better, the bubbly/botryoidal kind of like geodes, when you clean them up good, cut them in half, and lay them flat, they look like brains lol. Great video, Thanks for sharing. 🦄

Hello Elley thanks for sharing your adventures it's really cool to see things here in Arizona my home that I haven't heard of , although I do agree with you about rockhound heaven being here in AZ it's not in Payson it's further south a place called Noonan Canyon my home and work place on a cattle ranch. I recently got my first wet saw and I'm just blown away at things I've found just in my collection/garden alone, its like I need an expert in the field to assess the situation. lol, thanks again and if you ever make to Pearce AZ you are invited to the ranch for a bucket or two of some awesome rocks not to mention artifacts/bone and tooth fossils.
p.s. your channel helped me I.D. my Wolly Mammoth molar cap fragment.

Love your rock hunting videos. On this one, the camera didn't seem to be focusing very well on your finds in a number of cases. Not sure of the solution though! Thanks for sharing your adventures.

I feel like the whole video was a rock hoarder pre-intervention scene. When are they coming to clean all the rocks out of your house? Hahaha! You said you were moving? I bet the movers were hating life afterwards. Never stop hoarding rocks(or really, minerals).

Every where on the north side of lake pleasant that’s cool minerals. Just go on the other side of the road (not the lake side) and look at the ground. Up the washes has some awesome geodes and thunder eggs!
