They had so many hit songs in the 70's-80's such as "Dreamer", "The Logical Song", "Give A Little Bit", "Breakfast In America", "Rudy", "Take The Long Way Home", "School", "It's Raining Again", "Bloody Well Right", "My Kind Of Lady", "Cannonball", "I'm Beggin' You", "You Win, I Lose" etc.
That guitar solo at the end is unreal

One of the most underrated bands in history. SUPERTRAMP are the definition of good vibes, good music and positive energy. They're were into some uplifting, mind-stimulating stuff, and wanted you to understand the world around you in a different way. Good music, good artistry. The orange juice cover will always be iconic, too.

I saw their last concert ever in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada... Encore was Goodbye stranger, and then take the long way home.
Listen to the entire album. But back in the day we did on high-end audio systems where we were surrounded in a room with the physical acoustics earbuds just will never be able to reproduce. Listening to music on a high-end audio system is almost like a live performance with the band right in front of you and a sound stage as wide as a theater.
Great all time song. Even after you realize he's talking about his one night stands. And the fact that he has no desire to change. Priceless! ❤

Supertramp was SO good. They were the real deal. 🙂 Lots of great songs for you to discover, but my personal fav is Long Way Home. Killer harmonica in that one.

Goodbye Stranger ... A friend of mine was a confirmed bachelor. We were on a dart team together and so we went to bars. He was the life of the party and he was always saying that 3 words would never come out of his month ... "I love you"... he was usually with a girl for a few days then move on. Never let one move in for more than a few months and still went out with others. He made it clear from the start but was still criticized for it claiming that he was doing her wrong.

My own favorite is 'Even in the quietest Moments'. A little more soulful and bluesy than this one. But also a little psychedelic.

It's definitely one of my favorite *Supertramp* tracks; the wah-wah guitar at the end drives me crazy every time. I never want it to end! 😅
The lyrics are a hymn to freedom and an invitation to long-distance travel, in short, a top! That I listened to so many times on my Sony cassette Walkman in the 80s, on the bus to college and stared out the window, wishing myself a break from that daily grind and embarking for, I don't know what dream destination, greeting each other "Goodbye stranger, goodbye Marie, goodbye Jeanne (I'm French, lol), will we ever see again?" 😋😊
May I suggest you turn up the volume a bit on the music? Indeed, here, in the headphones, even volume fully, I felt a little frustrated not to feel, as intensely as wanted, the frenzy of this anthology piece. But, hey, it was great anyway; thank you for this enthusiastic reaction, which I share!

In the 70's and 80's they made MUSIC because they were passionate. These days there is almost only commercial Junk because everything is about money money money.
I just finished listening to Constant Craving with Rob Squad. All I can say is that she sounds like someone that is addicted. Not by choice!

Saw them live back in the day live many times never disappointed. If you listen to the lyrics it can be taken two ways Mary Jane as women or more likely Mary Jane was cannabis back then or maybe still is. Still take it to this day and I’m 70+

Dreamer is probably their only other song that matches the upbeat fun of this song. Rudy and Crime of the Century are probably good to listen to if you like how they do interesting things with their music.
