----- Bruce Dickinson is one of the best frontman and heavy metal singers of all time. In this episode, I'm taking a look at Iron Maiden's live performance of the song ''Hallowed Be They Name'' to see what's actually going on there, singing wise, but instrumental wise as well!

I've seen them 5 times 84' 86' 96' and twice with my now 25 yr old daughter 2013, this last time she surprised me with Fathers Day tickets 2017. At that show we met a few people, in line to buy shirts, I was a little surprised by how many, I suppose you'd say Daddy Daughter date nights going on at a Maiden show. The point of all this though is really that, you are so right, he/they still got it

This was recorded at Hammersmith on the 20th March 1982....so they'd only played it live maybe 20 times (this was the Beast on the Road Tour to promote the album Number of the Beast) and it was only recorded for the album January/February 1982. The album wasn't released until 22nd March so this was the first time most of the audience had heard this song.

@@HofTheStage I don’t want to sound like an old guy but it was called competition.
The record contract was not a guarantee. In order for Maiden to be that popular in ‘82 it meant first that they played countless club shows all over the UK.. nonstop.
They switched guitar players and singers in the era of Punk and the beginning of NWOBHM. The competition just in the UK was nuts.
On a larger level they were competing with Judas Priest, Ozzy, Saxon, QueensRyche, DIO, AC/DC, WhiteSnake, Scorpions, Rainbow...the list is endless. They had to be different and they were.
What’s missing from music right now is exactly what Maiden and the rest were doing. In that era you didn’t really record an album and then go shopping it to a label. There was no Pro Tools . You had to pay dues get the contract, write & record and then tour and then repeat!
The best concert I ever saw was Judas Priest touring on Screaming For Vengeance with opening act Iron Maiden in October ‘82. Maiden had 3 albums out and were the opening act, the following year they were headliners. Both bands at or about to peak, both metal and both totally different. Unique.
I’m 57 and a musician and try to stay up to date with current bands and there are a few I like but make no mistake the Maidens, Priests and AC/DC molds are broken. There will never be anyone like them in that genre. Go see them if you can because “the sands of time for them are running low”. It is truly a spectacle.
Rock music needs personality again because it’s totally lacking that and balls today.

You can even watch the Web series on Amazon prime .. you will find it extremely amazing. You should listen to classical songs by Arijit Singh and Shankaran Mahadeva. ❤️ from India..
