At Ballsbridge we see various shots of horses in stables for the Dublin Horse Show. They are led out into the yard and prepared for the event. Woman in old-fashioned riding habit mounts a horse side-saddle. Doctor checks over a horse. A horse has new shoes fitted. Cut to shot of a woman being assisted with her high heeled shoe in similar position.
Various shots of horses parading around an enclosure before the main events. Stewards check the course. President of Eire Eamonn de Valera sits watching in the spectator stand. Riders and contestants parading along the course.
Several shots of horse jumpers making their way round the course: Captain Alfonso de Llano of Spain, David Barker of Britain, Captain Piero D'Inzeo of Italy, Frank D Chapot of the United States of America, Captain WA Ringrose of Ireland, William Steinkraus of America. Steinkraus hits the rail of the water jump, giving him four faults and making the Italians the winners.
The Italian team line up on their horses as D'Inzeo is presented with the trophy cup by President de Valera.
