No, Berlin was not the most bombed town. It was Düren in the west of Germany. Düren was destroyed to 99 %!

we have over 26000 castles in germany.
11:35 Many of the castles that still exist today are indeed tourist sites.
But some are also used as venues for weddings, lectures, art exhibitions, museums, hotels, restaurants, theatre performances and other events.
Some of the castles are still in the hands of the original family, who carry on the legacy.
Or are also managed or used by entrepreneurs or the respective city.
Schwerin Castle, for example, is the parliament building of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state parliament.
12:16 Or, for example, the Drachenburg (Dragoncastle) in Königswinter, which can be visited but also has a restaurant where you can eat. And a wonderful castle garden.

Even we germans love the "fairy tale"-Route and the black forrest. A Tour of the Rhine river with all its castles close to the river is what you are looking for :D especially in the late summer when the whine is ripe it is them ost beutiful area :D
Berlin not my favourite but a great city.. Hamburg is actually the most beautiful city in Germany. Bavaria is also beautyful but Neuschwanstein Castle is only worth a look. Too touristy imho...

Hamburg was one of the Locations European Settlers took the Ships towards America. Frikadellen (big Meatballs) with mustard were already a traditional "Fast-"Food in Germany. On at least one of the ships in order to avoid litter they came up with the idea to put it in a bun (Brötchen), like they already had done with fish (Fischbrötchen). Because it was a delicious food Americans kept the idea and sold it as Hamburger Frikadellenbrötchen which was then later shortened to only Hamburger, like people did with Frankfurter (Würstchen) Nürnberger (Rostbratwüstchen) and so on...

The Design of the old houses on the market has nothing to do with a Christmas tree. These houses are 400 years old. The Tradition of the christmas tree is 150 years old.
And: We have over 40.000 Castles in Germany. 🤷‍♂️

Place 1: Rothenburg ob der Tauber, so the full name, is very nice. There are a few streets where cars drive, but parking is done outside of the medieval city walls. The city itself is not big, you can explore it easily by walking.

This video was a real chaotic trip through visitable places. Interesting selection, but as you guess there is way more to see than just those ten mentioned.
If you want to visit the places in the order mentioned in the video you will do a lot of travelling, as the places are not mentioned in a regional order. 😅

  • @stephaniechbakingtraveler4262

I was in Kontanz(constance) it is just direct to the lake and i was with my mother-in-law for christmas market and i like the city. it is not far away from Kreuzlingen here in switzerland. I did not travel in german alps because we have a lot here in switzerland and mountains here are higher. I want to travel in bavarian and swabian alps in the future for sure. I was in Blackforest in Titisee and just 2 hours drive from our city here in Basel, Switzerland and i like the place.

Would it be possible for you to listen to the medieval song "Meie din liechter schin"?
The video of "Dr Ludwig" has the song with English subtitles.

Never heard someone referring to the Watzmann as the Golden Mountain.
It's one of the most mystique (and most deadly) mountains of the Alps.

Funny as a kid when I went to town for shopping in Germany I always saw these big cathedrals and old buildings (they use them mostly for shops here where I live or for corporations etc.) and I never appreciated them, it was just completly normal for me but as an adult as I know how the world is/looks I apppreciate it definetly more :).
Where I live (modern) I just need around 30 min. with the tram to the old town / shopping area (also insurences, lawyers and so on). Also note that even tho we have cars we often prefer to take the tram to town because its pretty crowded and getting a parking place can be a nightmare especially in the holiday season, we only wait like 8 min for a tram and its not far like 5 min walking or so. Germany has very good infrastructure when it comes to public transportation, if you dont want you dont even need a car except you live in a village.
But to be honest if I had enough money I would go somewhere else (government is nuts and people are also getting more left, mass immigration etc.). Its really not so good anymore here and sadly on purpose, but not going into it now.
