    In this video tutorial, Joshua Casper shows you everything you need to know to get started with the newest version of the Loopcloud DRUM VST plugin by Loopcloud. DRUM is now available as a standard VST Plugin on exclusively Plugin Boutique without the need for a Loopcloud subscription. It also has a host of brand new and updated incredible features.
    About DRUM | Unique Drums in Seconds
    When it comes to creating drums, every producer is different. Whether you create kits from scratch or intricately edit loops, Loopcloud DRUM will enhance the way you work with beats. DRUM turns samples into expressive kits, bringing together pro-quality sounds and unique rhythm combinations to inspire unexplored grooves.
    Building beats from scratch?
    DRUM’s 16 powerful pads have everything you need to create unique loops and kits. You can use DRUM to sequence, trigger, or play in rhythms easily. Patterns can be programmed and edited quickly with nudge, timing, and velocity controls available at every step, mixing each sound on the fly with adjustable parameters on all 16 pads.
    If your drum library is a little light, DRUM’s 1000 sounds and 30 kits will instantly inspire. And when you’re ready, Loopcloud’s extensive catalogue is ready to open up a world of sound. Every sample comes with the Loopmasters stamp of approval. If it’s not professional quality, it doesn’t make it into the Loopmasters library.
    The intelligent Kit Generator inspires fresh ideas with every click. Set an instrument per pad, hit ‘Generate kit’, and 16 pads are instantly filled. Complete kits or individual sounds can be swapped instantly. To create your perfect kit, keep pressing ‘Generate kit’ as you search and preview samples in real-time, locking the pads you like. DRUM works with any sample, whether it’s loaded up from Loopmasters’ huge collection or your own personal library.
    Creating and chopping up loops?
    DRUM is your very own loop factory. Every time you shuffle kits, patterns, or samples, you’re creating new rhythms and loops to explore in your tracks. Simply export the audio or MIDI directly to your DAW and save it for future sessions. DRUM remembers every kit in its history, allowing you to rework and revisit rhythms that have the potential for future productions. DRUM will inspire the current tracks you’re working on, or you can use it to grow an ever-expanding loop library that will inspire you across genre, BPM, style, and beyond!
    When your rhythm is ready to add to your DAW, drag-and-drop audio or MIDI files straight into your session, or route individual drum sounds to specific tracks with DRUM’s intuitive multi-outputs. Every element of your percussive patterns is yours to control.
    Need to organise your samples?
    Tagging is an essential part of managing your samples and loops, and when DRUM links with Loopcloud, all the hard work is done for you, automatically. Veteran producers will love the intuitive workflow for tagging, organising, and getting creative with your samples. Loopcloud uses its advanced AI-powered tagging technology to add instrument tags to all your content. No more manual sorting and organising - just smoother sample searches and a faster production workflow.
    Add a tag to any folder with label and genre tags. Label tags mark your personal sound folders - for example, ‘Modular Synth Samples’ - so you can quickly locate specific samples to create custom-made kits. Genre tags keep your genre-specific samples in check. Want to make a kit just using House and Garage samples? Just filter the genre tag you need. DRUM will find your sounds whether they’re on your laptop, hard drive, or in the cloud.
    If you want to strengthen your library, more sounds can be added directly from the Loopmasters library. With 20 years of music production knowledge and expert sample curation, millions of expertly designed sounds and kits are at your fingertips. Find every sample from your personal collection alongside your Loopmasters library: tagged, organised, and ready to go.

    Taking the time with Drum and all I can say is it's fantastic. Lots of potential. Love the store built in and you can just purchase the library right there with points! Fantastic.
    Loopcloud, suggestion: the pattern editor would be nice if we could see all the drums much like in Groove Agent's pattern editor. Seeing only the one drum at a time makes it a bit clunky to write patterns. Also the pattern editor and the keyboard pattern player should be on the same screen. I get confused moving about. Just some thoughts. Still fantastic drum module.

The Loopcloud DRUM installation currently comes with 44 different Drumkits across a huge range of genres - each Drumkit has 1 Preset pattern with multiple variations - up to 8 variations in some cases, labelled as patterns A through to H. It's a good start but you'll probably want to add more genre-specific Drumkits and Patterns.

      Just to clarify Re: the 2 Loopcloud apps you can buy (currently only available from Plugin Boutique) - Loopcloud DRUM and Loopcloud PLAY - neither of these require a subscription - you buy a license to use them forever and can just buy sample packs if and when you like. These apps will also add ALL your previous Loopmaster and Loopcloud purchases to your library (just sync the apps with your existing Loopmasters account), again without the need for a monthly subscription. Hope this helps!
      I recommend you download the kits you purchased to your hard drive before you end your subscription just to be sure you can still access. Joshua shows how to do this in the video - highlight them all in the loop cloud app and select Download in Background.

      From the Plugin Boutique Drum product page “The Loopcloud application is installed with Loopcloud DRUM. It is required to be running on your computer for Loopcloud DRUM to work.”
      I take it then that you don’t have to be online because the Loopcloud app will automatically open when you put Drum on a track in your DAW.

    Looks awesome, but can I add 3rd Party Sample Libraries? I have hundreds of them in folder structure on my HDD (as will many other producers). Is it possible to add these folders to Loopcloud Drum and have it automatically work out and tag the samples for use within the engine? I'm used to using Atlas 2 which can do exactly this. However, if Loopcloud Drum can do the same I would be interested in purchasing it as I like the look of the interface and workflow for quickly creating and generating new midi ideas.

    • @Nomo_Popo
      @Nomo_Popo Před 2 lety

      I'm curious if Atlas tagged those samples, so then I assume those tags are kept in its own database, which then what would be nice is if the Atlas and Loopcloud database are compatible with each other, perhaps in a simple form like a .json or probly .db file

    • @quiverytoast
      @quiverytoast Před 2 lety

      @@Nomo_Popo Sorry my use of the word “tags” was slightly misleading there. Atlas doesn’t tag the samples loaded into its database. At least not in the same way Loopcloud Drum appears to do so in this video. What Atlas does is scans any Sample Library folders you point it to, and then algorithmically works out what each one is (I.e. Kicks, Claps, Shakers, Hats, etc…). So all you have to worry about as the user, is which sample pad/box on the interface you tell it to load a random sample into, and it just works. (E.g. you hit the “load random” button on the kick pad button and Atlas loads a random Kick out of the 1000’s of Samples you’ve got sitting within the folders that you’ve specified it to look through). Hope this makes sense.

    • @quiverytoast
      @quiverytoast Před 2 lety

      @@Nomo_Popo Oh, unless what you’re wondering is whether or not Atlas actually does tag those samples on the back end? Like in a metadata sense - so those tags could then potentially be loaded into Loopcloud Drum? If that’s what you’re meaning then I’m not sure, but it’s an interesting thought 🤔

    • @JoshuaCasper
      @JoshuaCasper Před 2 lety

      Yes. You can import any of your samples into DRUM. They will be copied to Loopcloud and Looplcoud will tag them all automatically with its AI. You can then go into Loopcloud and make edits or add tags as well.
