Thanks so much for all that you do! I've been boarding for 25 years, but learned more from you in the last year than i did in the previous 20+..
Tommie
I am a 52 year old west coast boy, been riding for a loooonng time...I’ll tell you and all the young homies...we NEVER learned to do anything surf skate board or bike,...we just did it....and now....countless injuries and surgeries later...i have to do countless mobility, strength and balance exercises daily to keep up and be normal...your videos and what you do is awesome...had I had you and your videos when I was just getting after it...I’d be way better off...as it is..I love what you do...and learn a lot from it. To the youngsters....this dude Tommie is legit and y’all are knuckleheads if you don’t watch this stuff and learn the easy way he is showing you. As for me....I’m stoked to be part of your posse and looking forward to keeping on...carving...popping...and flying around the mountain as long as I can keep these (not so old) bones stitched together
Thanks for what you do Tommie!!!!!!
Yes, teach the stand up strapping in. I know how to do it and the biggest benefit is how much energy you save throughout the day. Could mean an extra 2 or 3 more runs in the day.
I'm in the Midwest, upright strapping means 10+extra runs!
got those step on bindings 🥶🥶🥶
@@ahabsbane Yoo where you at in the Midwest, I’m in Iowa
@@tpespos MN
One of the reasons I LOOOOVE my Flows. I can get in on the lift or as I get off, without ever stopping.
Bought this for my boyfriend he loved it so much. The boots are a little squeaky but he has to break them in. Board bends very nicely all around great gift for a good price
I love how you break down each step and explain it! It’s so helpful!!
This is the best breakdown I've seen. Thank you for teaching us!
tommies teaches everything he is the best. Also check out ( Johnathan buckhouse
Yeeeewwww!! Let’s goooooo!! So sick! Ready to try all this out this season!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🏂
Let's go dood!! Definitely going to be working on all of this for sure this season!
Yooo
Still working on my ollie. I still would hit a chihuahua 😂
13 people hate chihuahuas. Poor pupper doggos. :(
Thanks Tommy! This is super thorough. Love the breakdown!
Yes. Do a standup strap in please.
This method of teaching I think is the best. Breaking things down, showing it fram became, fwd , rew capability. AWESOME..
my man! Always coming through with killer content!
Awesome in depth teaching Tommie! Boom boom boom!
Step on? You are amazing thank you for all your help in learning how to become better rider! With your videos after about 10 times on the mountains I would consider myself intermediate rider and I still enjoy watching beginner videos
thanks for being hyper-technical my dude!
Key take away: catapulting forward and landing on our head is not what we're looking for.
Great content. Appreciate the vids. Thanks for looking out for us.
Great video with tons of details. Big thanks!
Just gotta say thanks for sharing your expertise in these videos, to many d-bag snow-bros that gatekeep out there! When I first learned snowboarding was still pretty new, and the knowledge was passed on verbally on the chair lift, with lots of mutual encouragement, your give off that same vibe!
Your enthusiasm is infectious. Really enjoy your vids
Great breakdown. Much appreciated!
Some quality content and dope production man subscribed
Thanks for all the tips... just bought a used snowboard and got to use it during the big snow here in Arkansas. Plan on making several trips this year to learn. Watching your vids inspire me so keep up the good work! P.s. I'm 51 and have been on skis since I was 18. Tried the snowboard last year and making the jump! Thanks again!!
Another boarder from Arkansas! 🤙
Awesome vid TB! I WILL get all these this season!
I like your energy when you talk about snowboarding and how granular your technique breakdowns are. Motivating!
Two-hand Tommie - awesome stuff dude
I have flo bindings so I don’t “strap in” super often but when I do I’ll have to try the two hand strap in now, great vid it’s definitely gonna help my ollies
For strapping while standing up I try to find semi flat area and maybe push snow with my board to make it more stable. Then just try to find a balance and start strapping. I usually push snow under my board so I can be on the heel edge. Would be good to have a place where you can stay still while doing this but if theres a lot of room you can slide down a bit slowly while doing it. Fixing the place for strapping with pushing the snow with snowboard is essential for this. Find an obstacle where you can lean or stop your board against helps too.
Best education, impressive.
This channel is so underrated. Sick tips 🙏🏽
man last winter i went snowboarding for the first time, and holy shit i can't wait to go again ♥️
I do need to learn these
Bro love the vid!! I’m gonna work on all this stuff this season. 💪
Yeww
watching tommie‘s clip has become my daily routine until I ride again in mid Feb.
I learned on a 97 Custom in 2011 at age 40😂🤣😎. I still have it.
Awesome!
Awesome tips 👍 😁
Tommie Bennett is SICK! XD
Def going to progress on these this season
Yessss
Shyte, having my shoulders out of alignment is why my Ollie was wonky. Thanks dood!
I definitely want to see a tutorial on how to strap in standing up! I've been using Flow bindings for a while and switching to normal ones is hard. Help us out!
Awesome Video!!! Thy from germany 😊👍
Our season has just ended ;( but cant wait for all your videos to come out for your season :D love ur hype
@@tommiebennett I'm in NewZealand south Island :D and Not yet, but one day I will follow the snow up there
Tommie Bennett Yeah Man I’ve been there once before when I was learning!
Spent most of my time at Mt Hutt this season, and when I ventured down south to QueensTown on a trip with my mates we spent most of our time at Coronet Peak.
There wasn’t a huge amount of snow when we were down there. But still had fun, this is my 2nd season on the board and I managed to hit a few box rails and trying to attempt 180s 😅 still got a long way to go but was hella fun
Ollie over a dog lmao! That example was hilarious
best teacher yo
Yo, I was so surprised to just see my name pop up in the video xD
Just discovered your youtube and instagram recently. You really have some amazing tips!
Looking forward to trying out some of your advanced stuff this season!
Tommie Bennett Awesome! I‘m a snowboard teacher myself and I‘m sure your breakdowns will help me to exlplain the mechanics to some of the students!
Tommie Bennett In Austria, a Skiresort called „Serfaus“. I really hope covid won‘t effect the upcoming season too much!
Ran into you the other day at keystone in the lift line!
Sick quality
I learned the two hand strap from you and now it feels weird to not do it haha
Strait flatland grabs duude?? That's a thing? Way sickk.
I never sit down to strap in, but I've never seen anyone else on the hill do it. Always wondered why.
Thanks Tommie, awesome breakdown! regarding Olies, I never know if I should be doing them from a flat base or on an adge, can you confirm? Thanks a lot!
Big fan of yours!
Pls explain what is the pink light behind you?
Looks amazing
@@tommiebennett thanks man
I'm not even halfway through the video and loving the in depth details of how to do some of the basics. one question i have is about boards, I ride a directional board because i love hard carving and how it floats in powder, just noticing that all you videos have twin shaped boards do you have suggestions if i am looking to do small stuff like ollies?
Saving this vid to try on my next trip while my wife takes classes.
I like the breakdown. Was wondering why I always landed weird after Ollie's lol stay safe out there !
Hi Tommie
Really like the content you produce ! Hey a couple of things , im wondering what your weight height is and what length board you ride ? I think if you ride a hybrid or rocker board and if you ride a board a bit short it can be hard to get the board to pop and get good spring out of.
I know a really good rider who rides rocker but he rides a 156 but he said he couldnt get the same board in 154 pop for him with less tail to spring off , he now rides a Ride Twinpig anyway
Ayyyy boss whuzzup
Why’s there no more cases in da shop
I’d say after today I’m officially intermediate
In depth explanation about the ollie, but you didn't give any guidance about board positioning. Should it be on rail or completely flat? As a beginner I struggle with control when the board is not on edge. Some guidance around that would be great 👍
Can you do these tricks just as easily with a hybrid board, like the Burton Process Flying V ?
I have a question about why u cross your arms before a jump and the bring them up. I am really struggling with my back arm swinging way to much when I do jumps do you have any tips?
"That's a goofy looking case bro."
"Nah bro it's regular..."
Hi......I've got a question for you it doesn't has anything with tricks.
I both a snowboard pullover and I would like to know what do I have to wear under it not to have cold?
I do not have any jacket
Hey mate how did you fix your back knee? My wife has patella Alta (loose kneecap). Did you do exercises to fix yours?
I don’t think he ever taken that jacket off in his life💀
Hey Tommie, one question: how many pounds/kg weight do you have in your board with bindings? Just for my curiosity... ever thought about it, actually? Can this be a problem for my progress here?
Yo coach, wouldn't nollie to tail tap/grab be an easier progression rather than ollie to tail?
Tommy when u squat u stay flat, bu when i try to squat my shins pushing against the boots and my board goes to toes edge, how can i fix it? tnx
Ayy Tommie ma boy why shouldn’t I ollie from off a jump but pop? 10:55
I just step on instead of two hand strap :D
I got some looks when I did that a couple weeks ago, was pretty funny.
One day I'm going to be so awesome, I'll make enough money from snowboarding that I'll buy my guy an MRI
I’ve never seen the double strap in
Is there a functional point to the nolly? Or is it just for fun? I don’t see it used in any other tricks
I've never used it except for frontflips but I use ollies very often
Ride on
It must be cold in his house.
i hit a jump like you did your shifty and my arms were up but i didnt do anything else and this guy made bird noises and flapped his arms while riding guess not doing a trick is frowned upon LOL
Brake my knee ???!! 😅
I'm almost to the point where I can do a backflip and I still can't strap in standing up..........................
I used to strap in standing, then I aged 15 years .
This guy always seems like he had too much coffee.
@@tommiebennett Eventually you will go into matrix time like Fry 😂
My goal this season is to Ollie a dog
Or you get step ons hhahah
Just stay away from making how to videos on how to carve and pop like the rest of the momos.
Honestly those videos really helped me earlier this season, I was out for 20 years or so due to disability and focusing on skiing, those videos saved me from getting instructor led classes. Snowboarding is for everyone dude.
