He lives not far from me and is still just so normal it's weird... in a good way he's so grounded lives in the same place goes out and talks to his neighbours and gives the kids in his street guitar sessions and just chills with them then gives them all free tickets to his shows he's a good man

Our Sam Fender origin stories are very similar. Both started with Bruce Springsteen and a chance encounter with Hypersonic Missiles. I started falling in love with Sam's music right when COVID hit on a cycling trip with two of my best friends. The apocalyptic imagery and sliver of optimism in that song were perfect for that moment, as we flew home hours before California locked down.
I've also gone to a concert for one of my favourite bands (The Gaslight Anthem) solo and its a pretty surreal experience. If you like Bruce, check them out. Especially the album The '59 Sound :)
