I hav several centanarian relatives, and all of them were reported to eat bacon and eggs everyday for breakfast. When I was still brainwashed by mainstream nutrition to believe that saturated fats and cholesterol were bad, I couldn't wrap my head around it at all. But in recent years, it started to make a lot more sense.

Years ago when I was a vegetarian I remember hearing on NPR a 98 year old man was interviewed regarding what he ate every day to live such a long and healthy life. He said he ate bacon and eggs every morning. At the time I was a vegetarian and I thought, wow, how amazing that someone can live to be so old eating so poorly every day. Now I realize his healthy long life probably had a great deal to do with the bacon and eggs every day. Sometimes I can't think of what to make my kids that has protein that they will eat. Making a bunch of bacon is always a hit! Having been raised a vegetarian I am learning a lot about meat and how to prepare it. Thanks for the videos.

Many of us understand🏆👍. [I] Haven't done the buffet bacon thing, but salivated once 10 years ago at a casino buffet when I seen a Baker's sheet tray full of crispy cooked bacon at a brunch buffet...and passed on it because of those who were with me that morning. That moment that day is still locked into my memory...and as it later turned out a person in our group that morning also commented to me later... he said "did you see all that bacon out there with the other meats?"...we together, just us two could have consumed that entire tray that morning, lost all our money in the casino and went home a winner with a huge smile on our face!...that bacon tray looked that tantalizing- I digress in my reminiscing.., ...segue forward, I had close older relative cringe when I mentioned Carnivore eating... and that in that particular week about 7 months ago, I told her I had eaten about 3 lbs of bacon that week alone (and actually had)(bacon wt. before cooking of course...cooked weight seems about 1/3rd of that) ..to which she replied it will kill you! Don't you know it is bad for you? As soon as I tried to tell her about what little I knew "at that time" being Carnivore and why I was giving it a try, her "wall" went up to hearing any of it from me. But I told her that day... "Hell, I was born to be Carnivore", I love this way of eating... and in truth I always have! I literally more times than I care to recall denied myself to "eat right as I was instinctively wanting to do" and and nearly always have swapped that diet (meat I was loving) out for junk, ie., the so-called healthy foods in its place propagated by the recommended dietary pyramid, social norms of the day, and ate carbs galore usually to kill my hunger... with fruits, vegetables, breads, and starch filled gravies and beverages to fill me up. Or big desserts to follow Not anymore! 7months 3-1/2weeks since started and [I] am down just short of 90lbs today wearing normal clothing of a fitter person ...and in my best health in well over 20years! No dieting, no forced exercise regime, all in In this short of time...and never was looking for a wt loss diet...gave up believing in the next popular diet...I was dying literally and I mean in the very physical sense. Today, not planning on it nor see that happening from ill health but might if hit by a bus or fall off a ladder, and such like ending...[I] feel very good today, actually extremely good!!! 8 months ago I was all but bedridden (20 of 24 hrs a day was standard I had to lay down zero energy, stamina to be upright but for 20-30 minutes at a time. And that was my life 2-1/2 to las 3-1/2 years prior to going Hog wild!!! Kudos to enjoying the bacon!🤗😊👍🏆

@@JinnyjinnyJin My small country has the ocean, Alps and a lot of fertaile land that was inhibited by farmers. As a child i would work on the same farm where my grandmother grew up with my great grandmother that lived till she was 90. Getting grains for bread and sugar was actually expensive or it took a lot of manual work to make flour. You also need enough land and the right conditions to have grains on the menu. They were luxury items. The working class and farmers relied mostly on the animals. That's why every farm had cows, sheep, goats, chicken, ducks and pigs. Dairy, milk, eggs and meat from those animals was the main source of food. Also hunting wild game that lived in the forests around farms. The animals were eaten head to toe. Yes we had seasonal local fruit and veggies but without refrigerators and import having those on hand was not an option. But the diet was indeed animal based in all regions. John Gustafson : Ariel's got me on a diet because the doc said my cholestorol's a little too high.
Grandpa Gustafson : Well let me tell you something now, Johnny. Last Thursday, I turned 95 years old. And I never exercised a day in my life. Every morning, I wake up, and I smoke a cigarette. And then I eat five strips of bacon. And for lunch, I eat a bacon sandwich. And for a midday snack?
    John Gustafson : Bacon.
Grandpa Gustafson : Bacon! A whole damn plate! And I usually drink my dinner. Now according to all of them flat-belly experts, I should've took a dirt nap like thirty years ago. But each year comes and goes, and I'm still here. Ha! And they keep dyin'. You know? Sometimes I wonder if God forgot about me. Just goes to show you, huh?
    John Gustafson : What?
    Grandpa Gustafson : Huh?
John Gustafson : Goes to show you what?
Grandpa Gustafson : Well it just goes... what the hell are you talkin' about?
John Gustafson : Well you said you drink beer, you eat bacon and you smoke cigarettes, and you outlive most of the experts.
    Grandpa Gustafson : Yeah?
John Gustafson : I thought maybe there was a moral.
Grandpa Gustafson : No, there ain't no moral. I just like that story. That's all. Like that story

Yeah I think that's why men in particular decline in middle-aged because they want to get heart healthy grains and veggies, and this is when all of the medical issues start to mount up. Even as I kid I would hear this, and the doctor would say it's because of red meat and fat they had eaten for the past 30 years, even though they never had these problems while eating that way. The people who live long enough to be centenarians eat a variety of diets, and engage in an array of habits. In fact, many of them have very little in common with each other. The only common trait that you see among all of them is they are all slender for most of their lives. They seldom, if ever, flirted with obesity. If they ever suffered from a bout of obesity, it was always brief. So that fact is one more nail in the coffin of the "healthy at any size" movement.
