Pectus Excavatum/Nuss Procedure

Hello! I wanted to make this video to help others out who have had pectus excavatum. When I was researching years ago, I found there weren't many resources or people my age sharing their experience with the Nuss Bar procedure. If you have any questions just comment down below! :)

I have this condition and I first noticed as a teenager that my dad had this too. I get short of breath often but never linked it to this deformity til I was an adult. I never had a doctor mention I had it but I researched it myself and was like viola that’s what it is! I’m 66 yrs old now so I don’t know if it’s too late to do anything about it now. I also get pneumonia a lot but don’t know if it’s from the compressed lungs from this or from a genetic condition I found out I had last year called alpha one. I have a visit with my pulmonologist in a few days so hopefully I’ll get some answers then.

Hi dear. Im niloufar and i live in iran .and sorry for my language. Because you know that English is not my mother language. Im 30 years old and i have pectus excavatom and i couldn't find any way to fix it . And nuss surgery doesn't do in iran . Can you help me to fix it? In your opinion vacum bell it it good for fix it wit exercise? . If i want to have surgery in other country it is so expensive for me . I dont know what do i do .😢 .

Hey! Just curious, did you have cryoblation done?? Also I was so shocked when you said they told you you’d be dead by 30!

Hey! I’m 28 years old, and I’m having the surgery in about 2 months. I really don’t know what to expect when it comes to how much will I be able to do myself in the recovery period. It’s different when you’re a child living at home, but I’m a grown up 😅 do you have any tips or inputs?

It is scary, but SO worth it in the long run to be able to breathe!

@@melissasolbsis it to late at 66 to have it done?? I haven’t been able to breath normally in so many years that I think I’ve forgotten what it felt like! I can’t do any strenuous activities without feeling like I’ll pass out and actually will get physically sick.
