USC's Professor Kevin Knight is part of an international team that finally cracked the "Copiale Cipher," a strange, 105-page message handwritten in abstract symbols and Latin letters revealing the rituals and political leanings of a 18th-century secret society in Germany. Knight, a computer scientist at the USC Information Sciences Institute, is now targeting other famous unsolved codes, such as the last section of "Kryptos," an encrypted message carved into a granite sculpture on the grounds of the CIA headquarters.

This man has the calmest voice I've ever heard. His voice and his mode of speech convey enthusiasm about the subject, while at the same time maintains a completely relaxed feeling, as if we are listening to an authentic Guru, who teaches us how to perform meditation.
Except not.
I would LOVE to see his work being used to decipher Ancient Egyptian texts. Although much work has been done in that area, there is still so much that we don't know - I feel he would add greatly. Well done Kevin Knight, & thank to the USC for uploading :)
Tonyfalca, TYVM! That was a great article.
A.E Waite already explained the cipher back in the early 1900's, and it's took the quackademics this long to catch up. You can't beat progress...
He had an A.I.that was able to solve it? Interesting....
Are you not mistaking it for the Golden Dawn cypher?
They could exist or they could not. You will never go out from the paradox.
....That's correct, i don't know, but so many people claim they exist, so like everything else, the law-of-averages come into play doesn't it. There has to be some truth in it. I strongly believe they do exist.
Looking for someone to verify my decoded Beale Ciphers, you guys came up in a forum I was on . Any Ideas ?
transcript from the book: stp.lingfil.uu.se/~bea/copiale/
It contains initiation rites of scottish freemasonry, page 34 about Hiram Abiff
Very interesting! Great video.
I wish he would have provided the actual NAME of the Secret Society from which this text originated - unless they don't know?
I`m a little bit sceptical about this news as hardly any information about the manuscript seems to be available: where is the original manuscript, what is its history (provenance), where is the deciphered original text published, only its translation into English seems to be available and so on...
How do you crack the first sentence first? What would be the odds of something like that?
where can i buy a copy of the Copiale cipher?
104 pages of mason ceremony instructions basically, what a waste of time lol, but at least we know now
Why is no one looking into the Library of Timbuktu? Yes it’s most definitely Arabic language but this could probably help open up the doors of our history also could help solve things that have been hidden in the past...
where can I read this book?
Just read a great Wired article that had featured this video.
If anybody finds out where to read the original text, please let me know!
The Scottish Rectified Rite or Chevaliers Bienfaisants de la Cité-Sainte (CBCS). This was originally a Masonic rite, a reformed variant of the Rite of Strict Observance which, in its highest degrees, uses Masonic-type rituals to demonstrate the philosophy which underlies both Martinism and the practices of the Elus-Cohens.
martinism
this seems to be the origin of the document
where do i sign up to one of these societies?
very interesting
@PraxisLodge it wont let you post url's for the trans scrip. got it if you want it
What is the song name of this background music anyone? I dig it:)
He reminds me of Brick Top from Snatch.
Voynich next !
@ShadesofScorpius They just discovered this like, a month ago or something right? I think they need a little more time to look into it to find out who it is for... But yeah, I'm eager to see who's it is too, if they find out.
Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong, you don't know too right?
The transcript has to do with freemasons and knights templar I think--weird re:\this guys name... This was mentioned on a tv show on the history channel, America Unearthed? It has various initiations and stuff like that. But they only showed about half of one page of the actual manuscript.
Fascinating to say the least BUT
what secret society is behind the cipher?
tomchii A secret society known as the Oculists. Although some may deny it, they are related to the ideals of Freemasonry. Trust me......this is true
wow 700 years old and about eye?
reikelgirl Yes, the eye
TO SERVE MAN! IT'S A COOK BOOK!
(ha!)
I've read a shitload of news crap... about the process of finding this, history behind the books travel etc etc... I'm only interested in what it says, where the fuck can I find that?
....Maybe you're right, maybe wrong, do you really know, who is who?!
So fucking fascinating. Here's an article written by Wired about the whole process of how the deciphering came to fruition: wired[dot]com/dangerroom/2012/11/ff-the-manuscript/

Oh how I hate comments like these.. a slight direction for us other?
@fhadj They would have been killed much earlier if it was the case...
See my new Riverside Confession letter hidden message decryption. Click on the abstract humanoid Icon to see a short video. Does the Zodiac Killer leave his 3 character nickname at the end of the transcript? Find out! Thanks.
they should look into Egyptian writings....I doubt that they way we read the now is correct
@PraxisLodge if shits legit expect it to disappear imo
Can you quote that for us, please?
And definition of 'conceited'. One of them fancy words I thought I knew...
CRACK ZODIAC'S CODE....THAT IS THE REAL PRIZE
Didn't he break the Zodiac Code too?
Not to my knowledge. He appeared on the History channel program about same I think.. Click on the round abstract humanoid Icon to see my recent decryption of the Riverside Confession letter hidden message. Conventional coding methodology unconventionally applied. The hidden for 50 yrs plus transcript has a possible 3 character nickname at the end that may help confirm Zodiac's name. Thanks.
@nadav70 sort of like michael jackson
Taman Shud

They found the code was just a bunch of BS
Yep, so your statement saying that they are true while I'm saying they are true but also false. So in the end it can be considered a false then. So I'm actually saying the truth afterall. But other people say it's true then we're both wrong. However you can always say it's true while I'm saying that it's wrong and so on and so on.
I think we just stumbled upon truth paradox. To wit, there's no answer, just an abstract absurdity.
That is freemason?
@PraxisLodge see stp.lingfil.uu.se/~bea/copiale
unfortunately these guys might be dead in 2 weeks....
