  • (mrtruck.com/cm-bed.htm) TFLtruck and MrTruck.com went to Oklahoma to get our new CM aluminum truck bed. The bed looks great, has 4 storage doors on the side. Recessed bed box with gooseneck ball keeps the grease on the ball not your pants. Extruded aluminum floor is one inch thick. Gooseneck ball and rear receiver hitch is B&W.

    lol and here I thought everytime u see a ranch truck with a flatbed on it, it was only a question of who backed into the trailer and crunched the original pickup bed

    Can the backup lights on the headache rack double as bed/cargo lights?
    What model did you get?
    Options for aux fuel tank?
    Bed height compared to stock pickup bed? How much lower is goose ball mount?
    Paint to match truck?

    • @MrTruckTV
      @MrTruckTV  Před 6 lety

      Not yet on the backup lights, as I show in the video it's a AL-SK model. The bed is 4 inches taller than the floor of the stock bed. It has a 4 in channel frame on top of a 2 inch spacer on top of the hump. The gooseneck ball is one in lower than the floor, it ends up being the same height on the goose ball as the stock truck bed. Don't know about fuel tank options. I've just seen white, black and aluminum on colors. Call your local dealer and ask about color options.

    Like your truck/RV setup, do they make the same bed but long enough to put a 2 door small car (2800lbs) , maybe 3 feet longer, it would go on a 450 chasis dually, thanks

    • @MrTruckTV

    • @MrTruckTV
      @MrTruckTV  Před 6 lety

      Yes, doing well. I did have to change one air bag out of 4. But it didn't wear out, we had the bag too close to an exhaust hanger. I use the dump feature alot when I hook up trailers every week. So the bags go full to empty each time I dump to back up to a trailer. Well after years of rubbing on the airbag when the air is out finally wore a hole. So I replaced the bag and ground down the exhaust bracket.

      Thanks. I am negotiating on a 2018 Ram 3500 dually Aisin and not that impressed by the ride. Have purchased a 42 foot Open Range 3X that has a gross weight of 19K. I am also interested in their trailer air ride system. This will be our last purchase so we are not holding back.

      The custom conversions are expensive. In think Andersen's Ultimate hitch will got into the recessed box ball for a 5th wheel. I'll have to research it and may truck one. CM can make the ball box big enough for a B&W companion 5th wheel.

      MrFix - how are the suspension, cross members, cab mounts, pick up box etc etc etc attached to a truck frame? Drilling and bolting in accordance with the OEM upfitting/body installation procedures is completely acceptable.
