- (mrtruck.com/cm-bed.htm) TFLtruck and MrTruck.com went to Oklahoma to get our new CM aluminum truck bed. The bed looks great, has 4 storage doors on the side. Recessed bed box with gooseneck ball keeps the grease on the ball not your pants. Extruded aluminum floor is one inch thick. Gooseneck ball and rear receiver hitch is B&W.

Impressive back up lights.
Looks Dually ready!
Kent, I would like to say I am a big fan and I enjoy watching your videos. It’s the your level of enthusiasm and detail I enjoy the most. I would like more please.....
Thanks
lol and here I thought everytime u see a ranch truck with a flatbed on it, it was only a question of who backed into the trailer and crunched the original pickup bed
Great video glad to see your version of it compared to the tfl video
Thanks
Nice review. Thx Mr Truck.
Thanks
Can the backup lights on the headache rack double as bed/cargo lights?
What model did you get?
Options for aux fuel tank?
Bed height compared to stock pickup bed? How much lower is goose ball mount?
Paint to match truck?
Not yet on the backup lights, as I show in the video it's a AL-SK model. The bed is 4 inches taller than the floor of the stock bed. It has a 4 in channel frame on top of a 2 inch spacer on top of the hump. The gooseneck ball is one in lower than the floor, it ends up being the same height on the goose ball as the stock truck bed. Don't know about fuel tank options. I've just seen white, black and aluminum on colors. Call your local dealer and ask about color options.
Andre is the man!
Like your truck/RV setup, do they make the same bed but long enough to put a 2 door small car (2800lbs) , maybe 3 feet longer, it would go on a 450 chasis dually, thanks
Sure with a longer wheelbase, you can go 10 feet on a cab and chassis
@@MrTruckTV can you put a 10 foot bed on a 2005 f450 dually with a CA60?
I see you still have the "Auto Flex" on your truck. Maybe I missed it but do you have an update on how it has performed since being installed?
Yes, doing well. I did have to change one air bag out of 4. But it didn't wear out, we had the bag too close to an exhaust hanger. I use the dump feature alot when I hook up trailers every week. So the bags go full to empty each time I dump to back up to a trailer. Well after years of rubbing on the airbag when the air is out finally wore a hole. So I replaced the bag and ground down the exhaust bracket.
Thanks. I am negotiating on a 2018 Ram 3500 dually Aisin and not that impressed by the ride. Have purchased a 42 foot Open Range 3X that has a gross weight of 19K. I am also interested in their trailer air ride system. This will be our last purchase so we are not holding back.
Careful there mr truck. Wouldn’t want to bang up any of that fancy jewelry.
I love the look of a cm skirted bed. But wow does their paint stink! Mine gets touched up with spray paint a lot
Do the boxes under the bed hit the ground when off roading?
No, it would hit the axle before it would hit the boxes
How much does a bed like that cost?
How long did the install take start to finish
I took a full day to take off old bed, bumper hitches and install a new one. It took longer because we video's it
I'm curious as to why you chose a cm bed over a norstar. Other then cause you was able to get it in aluminum
I like Norstar. CM was lighter
@@MrTruckTV what was the total cost for it.. if you dont mind me asking
How many hours should this job take to compete for an upfitter ? My Truck has been at dealership for 3 business days getting installed. I'm missing it, and getting concerned should I be?
What are you talking about?
@@MrTruckTV sorry, just curious what all goes Into mounting a flat bed on a new cab and chassis.
@@scottisaaks s
@@scottisaaks That would be easier with no bed to take off. It should take less than a day
You goin to the Chicago auto show? Mr trucks
no
What do you think of these vs Classy Chassis or other manufacturers?
How to hook up 5th wheel trailer & clear deck to flat bed when not towing it?
The custom conversions are expensive. In think Andersen's Ultimate hitch will got into the recessed box ball for a 5th wheel. I'll have to research it and may truck one. CM can make the ball box big enough for a B&W companion 5th wheel.
can you do a new video on how this is holding up??
I sold the truck
How is that air bag setup holding up?
Yes, I did have to change one air bag out of 4.
Good to know, I'm seriously considering doing that to my truck when I can justify it. I'd love to have the dump feature for loading/hitching
Also, I really want a good flatbed like that
How do you get your spare down?
Same way as with a factory bed. We drilled a hole for the wrench to lower the spare.
I was watching about 11:40 when your backing up the trailer . All those lights on that trailer and the brake lights don't work.
Yeah, we only towed that trailer a couple miles and then went home. Discovered the brake lights when I got home and hooked to my trailer. It was just a loose connection under the truck
What kind of rear air suspension is that I've never seen that on a single wheel truck
It was from Canada, Auto-Flex
@@MrTruckTV that is pretty freaking neat man I like it is it fairly inexpensive
Where is a link on that rear suspension
mrtrailer.com/autoflex_airbag_smooth-ride.htm
What is the CM model number for this bed?
AL SK skirted bed with 4 tool boxes
Where is the spare tire for the pickup?
Same place under the bed
What's the sizes on the tool Boxes?
I'll measure them today
The doors are 12 x 12 looks like 10 in deep
I appreciate the information that's really good size for a short bed truck
What’s the length on that sk?
7 ft by 7 ft
That trailer plug in for the GN should be installed vertically.
no cause they will collect water
Can you put a bed on a 2000 f 150?
I would think so
Why did you choose a short bed truck? Is it gas or diesel?
MrTruckTV thanks Mr Truck. Love your videos
I wishe they built 5.5 ft or even 6.5 ft for f150
No, You Will Not Be Welding. On My Frame !!! No, You Will Not. Be Drilling Holes.. In My Frame.... Look's Good But A Disaster
There was no welding on my truck frame. The uprights were welded to the steel frame of the bed. The uprights were bolted to the truck frame
MrFix - how are the suspension, cross members, cab mounts, pick up box etc etc etc attached to a truck frame? Drilling and bolting in accordance with the OEM upfitting/body installation procedures is completely acceptable.
