Ford, Chevy, Dodge, it doesn’t matter, at the end of the day we all hate Ridgelines.
My parents thought they were gonna get me a Ridgeline for my first vehicle. F150 said hell no lol
Noscopes Allowed
Get your own truck, big boy.
Jonhy Marquez
You forgot avalanches. Even Chevy guys hate avalanches
Mickey ÓMaolmhóna
Every real guy hates avalanches
@@Ryguyz2004 not as much as Decodas.
Edit: they hate Colorados more. Even a GM mechanic I know hates the Colorados. They're a re-branded Isuzu.
Hearing that 7.3 start up and rattle brings a smile to my face.
Guy with the 7.3 has got the brains
Slew 282 wisdom
That 7.3 with proper maintenance will just keep going. I’ve never had a 7.3 that doesn’t run. My 95 7.3 has 367K on it w stock transmission and still going fine. But I can tell the transmission is starting to die though, a little slipping but still strong. I wish I had a manual in the truck since I daily drive it. But then the auto is easier to live with from a day to day basis.
No trucks jacked way up and polished up, used for their purpose
And I didn't hear any sh-- music blasting from them, either.
Hey jacked up trucks are trucks and can still be used as trucks! U can’t tow a goose neck or fifth wheel but not everybody lives out in fuckville nowhere and toss those kind of things!
Josh Luke they dont get work done. Who wants to load the bed of a truck that high up? You do it enough times with cement bags, hay, or wood and youll see why a lifted truck isnt for work.
Rocco Seals you are right , trucks are tools just like a saddle , barbed wire and fence pliers .
Jesse Hernandez lifted trucks have their benefits though. Yeah loading a bag of cement cane be hard but when you get it out, its already a good height to take it off. Some guys lift their trucks because of what they do. And then some are just Pavement Princesses.
You cant beat the sound of that 7.3 Powerstroke.
That red F-250 is the best of the bunch.
Loved that 7.3 Powerstroke! Old school
Everyone is rocking newer trucks then there's the guy with a old ass ford still doing work. I love it. I love ford.
corey hess heck yeah, looking for a truck with under 200k so I can get a lot out of it, but I guess this and many other trucks with 300k+ miles is proof that I will get many miles out of it
You do realize at one point his truck was new and everyone else had older trucks?
corey hess ford's are excellent, especially that 300 inline 6 put in several ford vehicles the torque is better than most v8 engines. They amaze me.. Look up 300 inline used for pulling. I seen a 70s model tan Ford truck pulling a huge load of logs without a sweat
corey hess I like ford up until around 99, it’s all Chevrolet after that. No questions asked.
I'm dedicated to ford my whole family has had fords no matter what problems have come and gone we've just always been loyal to one brand.
Man, I love them old 7.3’s.
i love my 97 7.3 extended cab flatbed
Best trucks ever . Obs Powerstroke!
Who doesn’t?
Chase Workman, I love my Rams, BUT! The toughest truck i'v seen yet with my own eyes, is a 97 F-350 7.3lt PowerStroke, 4x4 my brother bought brand new, and it now has over 1.250.000 miles on it, and it still runs great.. And those are not easy highway miles, they are hard miles..
Toughest truck made to date
The old 7.3 will out last them all.
babiixoxbritty already has if he had it 23 yrs and still runnin like new
Loved seeing that old red 7.3! That body style is one of the best Ford's ever produced.
I may be a diehard chevy fan, but you are right. Vastly better looking than the body style that followed, all soft and rounded and curvy. I refer to that as the Fisher-Price body style because it looks like a kids toy pickup truck.
One of the best ANYBODY has ever produced. I love those, the 1st gen Dodge, and the Chevy Scottsdales
OBS Ford FTW! That's a REAL cowboy. Why spend $80K when a 22 yr old truck works just fine?
Ford Tough
That 96 Powerstroke is my DREAM truck. Just listen to it run!
Jack Stephen, no joke. I’m 16 and when I was 15 I wanted a truck for my first car and God made it happen after some prayer, we found a good deal at an estate sale and bought the truck for a steal, got it running w 2 fresh batteries. All new sensors, new starter and flywheel and away it goes. I wasn’t expecting a 7.3 but life’s crazy but I love the truck it handles like a beast. But it’s a bare to park, but I just park in the back so no biggy. But it gets great mpg like probably 15 after the fuel additives. I really love the truck, I say that every day I drive it. It fits my needs because I’m always needing to pull stuff, and haul sh#t. If I sold it I would probably by a good 12v. Or 24v 5.9 Cummins diesel. I’m a diesel guy because of the engine lifespan. But the new stuff if overpriced crap thanks to the epa and all these environmental requirements.
theirs nothing like the sound of the old 7.3
Rickish Monkey66 I would agree with you coming from a ford hater lol I love that sound of the 7.3 can't lie.
I love that 1996 F250😍😍😍
I love that model too. They can always be improved though and one thing I would change on that truck is get some extended towing mirrors.
7.3 the way to go
compton221 I got the same thing
Chase Workman agree
the last good diesel ford used
Awesome seeing trucks being used for what they are actually made for ... have a good day TFL
Agreed!
Yes, those trucks. Half ton trucks are made for soccer moms today.
true but it’s still nice to have a lots of modern features that help out
One of my favorite videos of y'alls. That 7.3L was a beauty!
Jeremy Dollar good 7.3s still go for a grip in south Texas.
Best all around rig ever made
I was hoping to see a 7.3 IDI too....but I still have my 2000 7.3L PSD won't trade for anything newer.
Thank you for doing something like this. As a Texan I can appreciate it.
bgtx I'm in NC . I love trucks and back breaking work.
Same with us in rural Northern California (not in the Bay Area).
I agree
I like older GMC Sierras
I love the sound of the 7.3. Just beautiful
I'm not much of a Ford guy, but those 90s 7.3l trucks were great. I remember going to the sale barns as a little kid and hearing that signature 7.3 idle as they were loading and unloading trailers.
Besides the Cummins, probably why most of the trucks were RAM's is because Chrysler offers a discount for all National Cattleman's Beef Association members. That '96 F-250 brought back a lot of memories when he started it up.
It was like going back in time when I heard him fire it up good memories in those Ford trucks
Oh man, I love the sound of that old 7.3!
There’s nothing like an old 7.3, I’ve got 379k on mine, and it’s all stock
Vinny Weiss 396k rolled today. 03. Just redid the rear diff last week. Injector harness. About it!
WoW respect!!!! Both of you
I want that 96 F250 love that body, have a 94 Bronco that ive driven since i was 18years old been great over 14years it was my dad's for 9 years befor i got it.
DO MORE OF THESE ! I loved hearing actual REAL hard working owners giving their personal heartfelt opinions.
GOOD WORK, TFL Crew !
That 1996 Ford looked very nice! I would love to buy it knowing the oil was changed every 3,000 lol
Nathaniel Montalvo I'm surprised it wasn't all rusted out.... and guaranteed the interior is trashed, the interiors in those trucks are garbage. Got a '96 f250 that sits in my driveway.... great drive trains with the 460ci and 7.3L powerstroke but the rest of the trucks are crap, and have horrid suspension.
If I’m doing a lot of hauling depending on the time of the year I change at 3k if not it’s 5k
Drew w the ttb is a great suspension if you know how to properly maintain it, it's smooth and does bust your back hauling like a leaf sprung set up.
Same i would love an OBS 7.3 except i cant find one where i am under 300k
Drew w the cab of my 97 f250 is in near perfect condition as is the body. Everything about these old Ford's will last forever as long as you take care of it
Great video, very original and refreshing! Thanks for the unique content.
cant beat the 7.3 powerstroke amazing motor
By far one of my favorite videos you guys did
Great video, you guy's are getting good at making interesting videos; don't stop now, you're on a roll!
I love my Dodge Cummins, and I am also a fan of the old school 7.3 Fords. Glad you are doing more videos with Mr Truck, been following his website and videos for a long time..
Rams will always have a special place in my heart
20 year old truck still showin up the new shit 💪🏻
From my observations, Rams for the wild west, F150 for northern folks, Silverado for southern folks
That actuallly seems pretty accurate from my cross country traveling. In rural Wisconsin (where I grew up) it's all about F series, allthough the others are popular as well. I spent a lot of time in rural Colorado & New Mexico & they all love their Ram/dodge. Chevys are popular in Alabama, Mississippi. I now live in Nebraska & I see a good mix of them all, but mostly Ram here.
@@user-gm4rl8vx4z I've seen more Chevy trucks in Arkansas than anywhere else i've ever been
@@user-gm4rl8vx4z - every place rural NM is Ford
WHAT? FORD IS THE WILD WEST
Hey. There's my little brother Eric Rogers. Team roping header champion. Proud of him.
Rod Begay
At least it's made in America and not Mexico like a RAM.
Rod Begay if he's your little brother why do y'all have different last names?
Shaun Bennett my cousin. My aunt's son.
Thanks so much for making this type of video. I absolutely love seeing and hearing about trucks that are actually used hard day in and day out! Male more of this style of video!
We have two 7.3s on our farm. Love em.
I'll admit to not being a truck guy but I certainly admire the dedication these ranchers and farmers have for their trucks!
Excellent excellent video! Great job! Would love to see many more of these real world ownership stories.
Those old body style Fords were amazing.
As an old University of Wyoming guy who was blessed to have a rancher roommate, I'm a truck guy. I can't count the hours we spent driving from Laramie to Moorcroft to help his folks on weekends. This Baltimore kid became a cowboy and I miss that country. I'm hunting for a truck that'll haul a truck camper. Who knows when I'll have to pull a horse trailer.... LOL!
That old diesel ford really makes me miss my red 95 f150 4x4 300 6. Reg cab, short box. God why did I trade that in on a Chevy!!!😩
In northern michigan at the cattle auction we see mostly ALL cummins. they are the most reliable by far, and simple and cheap and pull like a freight train on cocaine.
Not much of a truck guy myself, but this video is still great. It’s nice seeing people happy and passionate about their trucks
I wanna be as happy as Mr truck at a stock show
Awesome video. Please do more of these types of videos. Texas state fair!?!??
Heyyyy I was there. I was showing some simmental heifers. I've got a big Cummins dually with a flatbed.
Wait so if I drive a lifted f250 and wear cowboy boots in the middle of the city I’m not a real cowboy? Wahh😭
Great show, well done Andre and Kent
Great video guys. Absolutely loved it. Heart warming. Would like to see more like this in the future.
Kent, you cracked me up. I was thinking the same thing about the Freightliner right before you said it. Fun video.
Love it, probable my favorite video to date...yes, like all the tests of course but fantastic to get a view into real people and the reasons for their choices. Great stuff
Enjoyed the video .
Great information! Great program, y'all warmed up the drivers to talk about their trucks, and that's what's so great about America. They wanted to tell the good stuff about their rig! Great program!
Good stuff. Nice to see MR. Truck in his element and meeting real users and not just arm chair quarterbacks.
OBS all the way! I have an absolutely mint 97 powerstroke that I did a 08 super duty axle conversion on. Now it has 4 wheel disk brakes and rides on front coil springs. I get crazy high offers everyday i drive it! Unreal how loved these trucks are. Probably going to be the most desirable truck of all time! Great video.
Disc
i work and volunteer out at the ranches here in southern az a lot! and theres really no one vehicle of choice. toyotas are pretty popular for running fence... i see mainly chevy 1500's some 150's not to many dodges and ive been seeing more side by sides/ quads ...the heavy duty trucks never really see anything but the ranchers house and highway...those guys usually have several offroad trucks and one really good highway truck thats never used off road...i spend most my time out by the fence lines repairing access roads and picking up trash so i rarely see the ranchers house but they almost always come out and say hi
This was a great video. I love seeing work trucks out there getting it done. Please do more like this in the future.
The guy with the 96 F250 absolutely right change your oil in your truck should not let you down
These people are real.
Rodney Remington what
As an owner of a hobby farm with livestock, nothing but Mopar in my yard
You mean chrysler
Great times when I had a 97 Ford F1000 (Brazilian version of 96 F150). My truck didn't have a big Power Stroke but was a great truck and worked a lot. I still miss that truck
Had a good laugh when they mentioned only seeing one tundra and it cut to a clip of the Toyota pulling a baby trailer hahaha
jonathan szczur makes sense because a tundra is considered a 1500 chassis. Cant compare to gas 1500 to a 2500 or 3500 diesel. Thats like night and day. Now, a tundra vs 1500 silverado would be comparing apples to apples
YamaMerJohnson now that’s someone with a brain unlike OP
jonathan szczur ...toyota sucks with trucks.
David Klimmek what did you just say? Do you know anything about a 22r
jonathan szczur yeah by your logic they should've also had sime Ford Rangers, the Toyota Tacoma, and maybe a Chevy Colorado..... because you know all trucks are exactly the same.
Awesome fun video again. Real life stuff is always entertaining. Thanks for sharing
The good old 7.3.... god bless the true farm trucks!
Loved this video! Need more of these!!!
The Freightliner at 5:40 can be bought cheaper than any of those pickups new.
Jay Smith also need a special license and is more expensive to service and drive and harder to drive around town.
Andrew Mendoza I wouldn't use it as a daily driver. When towing trailers like this the mpg isn't much different from a pickup. An oil change is 250.00 and can go 18,000-20,000 miles. Most of these guys probably already have a CDL. If I can get a CLD anyone can. Save the money buy a big truck and use a smaller truck for daily stuff.
Jay Smith tires, breaks, etc everything on those trucks is more expensive. You buy one of these duallys and they do everything more comfortably with ease. Also you wouldn’t have to have two trucks for towing and daily driving
Andrew Mendoza I have a Corolla for daily, a old dodge for little stuff and a Kenworth for big stuff. Drums, shoes, and s-cam kit for 900.00. Those last 250+300k miles. Tires are used Goodyears for 250.00. The oil change is 250.00 and last 18,000 miles. Including filters and lube. Small loads at 30k lbs it will get 8-9 mpg.
Really like content like this, would love to see more showcase videos like this in the future
Great video. Love the vent window comment I miss those. I have super duty's but my the truck I drive most is my 1964 ford f100 ac blowing wide open windows down and vent windows keeping wind out of my face.
Geez it's sweet how like 70% of those comments down here are about that OBS 7.3! Again - long live the 9th gen!
Great video guys!
More of these plz!!!
Great video. Love seeing "real world" truck owners!
David Hillbrand lots of real world truck owners can be found at kids soccer games and mom dropping the kids off in her f150....
Ford 7.3 you can't beat em. Best truck out of all of these shown
More vids like this please
Great video guys!!!
Excellent video. I wish you guys took a look at the trailers as much as the trucks. There are some interesting combinations out there especially with the groundloads and the cutdowns
I'm not a Ford guy but that 96 power stroke was probably the best one of the ones interviewed IMO.
Question, what is a narrow frame dually?
Flat deck ones have a narrower diff so that the wheels are under the deck. Normal dually has a wide diff with flared guards and the wheels stick out.
I really love the first gen ram with the 12v diesel. Maybe it's because my uncle Dan had one . I have no need for a truck that size. I drive a Tacoma 4x4. Got me to the fire station thru 16 inches of snow today....like the snow wasn't there. So what I think is really cool is that these hard working farmers work the snot out of these trucks and own them for 20 years. That is so great. In this throw away world, it's great to see people that have pride in what they have. Great video.
Great idea for a video. Very nicely done!!
I have the 97 F250 XLT 4+4 supercab same one in the video but it's green with the 5.8 Windsor one of the best gas motors ford made IMO.
I have no bias towards a truck brand, but 95% of what I saw in this video were Fords or Dodges. Might have seen one GMC in motion & a Chevy. But looks like 95% of the trucks (that ranchers buy) in the lot are either Fords or Dodges. Of which I ask, GM is #2 in the truck market according to sales. But I suppose when it comes to super duty, they lag far behind. My conclusion (based on this video) is GM owns more of consumer truck sales while "business sales" go to Ford & Dodge.
GM got out of the Medium Duty line about 10 years ago. No more school buses, wreckers, box trucks etc.
Tully3674 we've got all 3 and had all 3 on the farm, most of the miles between GM and Ram. And we won't be going back to a Ford.
Tully3674 what you fail to realize is, most of these people are still using trucks from way back when. Which isnt a bad thing, if it aint broke dont fix it. To make your statement valid, you would have only take into consideration 2014 or newer trucks or recently purchased new trucks.
Jesse Hernandez uhhh most of these trucks are less than 10 years old. Not what I'd consider from way back.
I'll tell you why. It's because ford and dodge have the best suspension for farm and ranch use. You just can not beat a straight axle suspension on a farm and ranch
Great video!
One of the best vids to date!
Great idea for a video. Thanks.
Unique and interesting content - nice job guys!
I love my ford. I come from an anti ford family but everyone loves our 2009 King ranch f150. It's a shame I don't pull anything with it. I do load the bed and head out on back road adventures through some nasty rutted roads and nasty mud. I have pulled vehicles out of the mud. It is a stock truck and what a fun truck it is.
Cool vid...I own a 96 powerstroke like the one shown in the video. I’m the 2nd owner of it with 370k on the OD. I’m hands down Ford for life but do admit Dodge has the best engine. That straight 6 is hard to beat. 90% of the trucks in the video are all newer trucks. The 96 is still hanging tough with the big boys. PURO POWERSTROKE !
awsome video guys
Beautiful man!gotta love the smell of diesel I love my 13Dmax and 02 24v
Obviously I'm late on this, but this was a great video. Would love if this was a series.
great video!
Guy with the 7.3 was the nicest & down to earth
Loved this video. Bunch of men doing what they love..funny though. Soon as I thought about a tractor trailer. They showed one pulling in. Lol.
OBS 7.3 all the way!
Good afternoon love you video excellent job 💯👋from New Jersey
Great vid!!
+1. .. While the focus was on the Big 3 domestic truck brands. .. Was there any OTR (over the road) trucks? .. Maybe older in life, OTR trucks that have been single axle'd? .. Say an older Volvo, Freightliner, Kenworth etc. .. These are 1 million mile trucks, a mileage an F-550 could never approach. .. Just a thought. .. Great video review TFL crew.....
Nothing like the sound of a 7.3l! God Bless.
I like this type of videos that you've been doing.
Much respect for the owner of the 96 powerstroke
