Also, like bees being important, they are also docile creatures, and only attack if they feel is absolutely necessary and when they feel threatened. I may be creeped out by spiders, but i try my best to never kill them, and have respect.

I never liked spiders, but I never had a scare with one, so idk how my fear developed, but now that I’ve had dozens fall on me, crawl on me, run at me, I’m literally TERRIFIED!!! I have nightmares, I feel like they are crawling on me at random times, I “see” them out of the corner of my eye, but nothing is there. I react just like her now 😭

We lived in a rural area, so it wasn’t unusual for spiders to hang out near the doors and windows for heat. I had seen a pretty big spider curled up in the corner, looking like it was dead. My mom, who is a conservationists that opts to capture and release critters outside as opposed to squashing them, told me it was a dead wolf spider that had been caught in another spider’s web or something, because “wolf spiders don’t make webs” (that was incorrect). The next night, the spider was gone, but the web was still there. I was skeptic. I didn’t see it for a while, so I just assumed it died and fell or moved on to somewhere else. One night, I was walking back from a friend’s house, and I ran full speed through my front door, a technique I had already been using for years to avoid all the bugs around the porch light/front door. As I was opening the door, I felt something land on my back. My mind IMMEDIATELY went to “spider,” and I ran through the house, frantically trying to take my jacket off. I threw the jacket on the ground, cried, stripped, and checked myself, then I got dressed and looked over near my jacket. On the floor, there was a wolf spider, about the size of an AirPods case, chilling on the ground. I was so close to going into a panic attack. I was home alone, so I proceeded to spend about 5 minutes throwing shoes at it from across the room, before finally getting it. I didn’t sleep. I felt like something was crawling on me all night. 2) I was tubing down a river with family, and we were about to go under a tree limb. I ducked, but not fast enough. I saw the spider hanging on the underside of the tree, but my shoulder ended up hitting it, and a huge joro spider (creepy little shits), about 3.5 inches front to back, fell onto my arm and scurried down into the middle of the tube. I ditched my tube so fast, dove under the water and shook my whole body, then made my cousin check the tube. I swam the rest of the way. 3) I was in a friend’s basement trying to hook up an X-box, when another huge wolf spider crawled over my hand. I almost fainted and had chills for like 20 minutes. 4) I was in the shower, facing the water, and I felt something on the back of my bicep. I thought it was just water, so I kept showering. I remember turning around, and as that spot got wet, I saw a house spider fall down onto the ground. I screamed, almost slipped and fell, and then got out. Meanwhile, it was still alive and fighting to not go down the drain 🤮 I waterboarded that thing until I was CERTAIN it was in the sewers. 5) I was walking into the bathroom late at night. Lights were off, and as I was walking in, I thought a hair had fallen in my face. I turned the light on and started peeing, then realized there was a small spider dangling by a short web FROM MY FOREHEAD 😭 I somehow got the power to pick it off by the web and throw it in the toilet. Idk why they seem to be attracted to me, mosquitoes are the same way, I get bit more than anyone I know. Like I said, I don’t think anything prompted the fear, it was always there, but none of these instances helped. One of the earliest spider memories I have is refusing to use the camp showers for RVs/campers (like ours) that didn’t have showers. I was like 5, and me and my siblings were supposed to go shower together (in swimming gear). We walked into the bathhouse, and daddy long legs were COATING THE WALLS. It was repulsive. I made my mom sponge bathe me in the kitchen sink of our camper the whole 2 weeks we were there. Whenever I see a spider now, the feeling of them crawling on me comes back. I’ve had had nightmares of thousands of them covering my body, or about them crawling into my nose, ears, and mouth while I am paralyzed (not sleep paralysis, just horrible nightmares). I never get tired of telling those stories, because I think it’s crazy that it’s happened to me so many times, and I’ve had a lot of other close calls, where they didn’t touch me, just got close. @@meg5247 Thankfully I didn’t see that movie until my teen years lol. It made me cringe, but only real spiders scare me. To be honest, I’m not even that opposed to those fuzzy tarantulas. The spiders that scare me are the common ones. The ones that are small enough to not be seen right away, but big enough to be scary and have spiney bodies and legs (wolf spiders, garden spiders, house spiders, jumping spiders, crab, camel, banana, etc.)
One thing I’ve learned: Do not let it out if your sight. You do not want to lose track of it and then it hides in your couch or bed and Juno’s on you unexpectedly 😫

I once hopped into a bed as a kid that was filled with moving bugs (unknowingly to me) in Swaziland/eSwatini on my first night. I was ten and had a phobia of spiders. I just froze. I could not move nor scream. I eventually passed out. When I awoke they were all gone. There were tarantulas in the group. That is a big feller. It helps to think of them as hairy crabs 🦀. Good job with the bowl.
