I've heard many Bands from the 70's/80's that tried to produce good Rock n Roll from the basic formula, though they couldn't deliver a good sounding product, they failed. Whereas, bands like New Zealands', The Datsuns and especially, The Casanovas from Melbourne, took this basic formula to the Stratosphere. I'm the kind of music critic that has studied all the Bands in history. One of the best concerts I attended in the early noughties was The Datsuns and The Casanovas at The Gaelic Club in Surry Hills, Sydney. They are two of the best Rock Bands in history. There is nothing bland or generic about The Datsuns. I think it is "Crime Beanus" that is dull, bland and boring
