I still use my 4 ps3s the network is free why am I going to pay the gate keepers 80 dollars a year to play multiplayer . I stopped playing online when sony cancelled Socom
I've been playing my PS3 now for 6 months now. Offline. Console is jailbroken but I like single player games.... Where's the single player experience on current Gen.... Crickets
My condolences to anyone who bought a 5 or series X. When I wanted one they were only available through scalpers who were not getting my money and now that you can get them I see no games that would tempt me.
I have mk 1, and it's too time-consuming to learn. I do like playing Re2, but it's been on hold. Im in no hurry to keep up anymore.
Tbh its not that bad I have one just to get 60fps of gears of war nd 360 games lol

Wow this is exactly my story. I lost interest on the ps5 and i want to join the pc master race. I don’t want to pay 80$ a year for psn and pay for woke games.
meanwhile i got an old 1080ti to pair with my old i7. spoiled with choice what to play on pc!

Try play Physical games without u Sony, Xbox or Nintendo accout... U cant even launch a console without accout... Physical games already pointless in this generation...

I think the new consols were pointless. I won't be rushing to buy any next gen consol. Plus thiers hardly any games on these ones and it was super hard to get one !
The consoles where not pointless and there are a lot of games to play your not just paying attention.
@@markel3353If u never experience games u probably gonna like on Ps5 or Ps4 Ghost of China, Days Gone, God of war and other Sony exlusives,but if u experience games before u probably not gonna like those games, they boring...The only solid Ps4 or Ps5 game is Spiderman Remastered but have terrible puzzles...

@markel3353 how do you know I'm not paying attention you don't even know what sort of games I like playing my point is this generation has been the least significant compared to the rest most of the new games still play on the last gen tek. I also believe consols and excluves will be a thing of the past 👍
On my end I had the Series X between 2021 and 2023 before I went “all-retro.” The systems I turn to now are my PlayStation 2 and Nintendo 64. Occasionally I break out the NES, Master System and the Dreamcast
Yeah Retro is where its at these days. Games that you can just put in the machine and play instantly with none of the DLC updates etc.
I got a series x in 2022, As soon as i could get one. I really like it. I had a ps4 and i felt like i was mission out on better performance.
Games are slowly switching to current gen only.
I feel like some people might wait for a ps5 pro for gta 6. People use to be hyped for the next big game. But none have come along yet. When we start getting closer to gta 6 we will see people upgrade. If we see a ps5 pro then it will probably be hard to find.
I’m collecting Xbox one and Switch games at the moment.
Recently bought a One X for cheap, slapped in a SSD and I now have a modern day console that gives even the Series S a run for it's money as the One X can output 4K. It has full access to Game Pass, does true 4K and is also a 4K BluRay player, DVD/CD player. It's sleek, silent and plays almost anything. If PS5 and Series X had more exclusives then I might consider buying but five years in and what do we really have other than a whole bunch of remasters, some of which still struggle to even get 60fps in 2024.
The backwards compatibility is near perfect so I upgraded as soon as they launched. There are reasons to keep ps3 and 360 but the PS4 and Xbox one are obsolete. You get all the pro console benefits with better framerates/resolutions/load times. Games like fallout 76 are unplayable on last gen once you play on current.
I would agree but sadly my favorite games have major graphical issues on ps5 and wont be fixed. Senran Kagura Estival Versus and Peach Beach Blast

I'll wait until games aren't £70 and the console isn't £450+.
The controllers have cost WAY too much for the latest 2 generations. Not paying £50-£60+ for a standard controller.
dude, one thing is if the console its underperforming therefore cant handle game at reasonable frame rate and another to lock it up behind a new console and force people to buy a new one even if the old one is working perfectly fine! Your point is just stupid!
Nice Sports jacket. New color. I like the option to buy ps4 titles then upgrade them to the ps5. It saves me money when the update is free. The ps5 is a bigger file size then the ps4. It's not the same file. lol faster load times is not $500 better. I'm just saying when u upgrade there is 1.
Im still doing ps2, wii U, xbox, xbox 360. I have a ps5 and I wont be moving on either. I won't do remasters either unless it has something special to it.
No reason for them to go away then don’t suck like the PS1 that was very weak to play games Sonys biggest mistake finally Sony learns their mistake makes their PS4 very powerful to last for more years to come Xbox all are great all are playable on the Xbox one love these consoles
Series s gets a lot of flack but it’s like 80% of the current Xbox install base so it’s impossible for Microsoft to abandon it now, like I had one for 2 years n honestly it was fine.
But with the series s it’s nearly identical to the series x but for 2 things, less compute units for the gpu (20vs52, ps5 is 36) and 6gb less of ram (10gbvs16gb). It’s not as weak as you think. Being that it doesn’t do 4K it doesn’t need the 4K textures so no need for the extra ram.
Little fun fact about the series s is it has a faster cpu then the ps5
Steam don't need to make a console, all modern games have controller support, I'm typing this on my PC I have hooked up to my TV that also has steam on it and I use a 360 wireless controller (you can use pretty much any controller)
Nothing better has come to replace them.

Nah, if the games aren't any better to run on newer hardware, they're to be launched on older hardware.
And that's the problem for Sony and Microsoft (and not us), they made consoles that aren't worth to buy. New games don't have a differencial feature on PS5 against PS4, apart from load times and higher resolution, and that makes them totally launchable on PS4.
Now, blocking them from old hardware just to force people to buy PS5s is a ridiculous and absurd solution, particularly when you use Apple, of all things, as an exemple to be followed.
I feel your annoyed at your purchase of next gen game on the ps2 went till like 2012 the problem is the series s (you are right tho I feel no reason to buy next gen still on the ps4 got the god of war and tomb raider trilogy and now cod)
Because the current gen was DOA. It offers nothing that should make up a new generation. Both are quite literally "Pro S+" variants of the PS4 & XB1.
Both shoukd have delayed a couple years instead of launch during a pandemic when nobody could get them so studios wouldn't dev FOR them. 90% of games on each are just sup'd up versions of the last gen titles they were designed for.
That's only now changing, what, 4 years in? It's normal to keep the last gen alive for a couple years but 4 years in and it's just barren. We won't see a wave of games ONLY for this gen until 2025, lol.
I've always been a "launch day or ASAP" console buyer. I passed on PS5 because it offered me nothing and that remains true in Summer 2024. Xbox? Even worse. Switch is fine but it's a glorified Android tablet from 2012 so it's getting stretched thin with what it can deliver.
Gaming is in a weird place atm.
As a One X owner with over 510 titles, above 300 of them are BC titles and a PS4 Pro as well I say this: Good

The problem is, it use to feel like an upgrade. NES to Super NES to N64 to GameCube. Massive steps up which you could see.
PS4 to PS5 no noticeable difference.
Xbox one to Xbox XS no noticeable difference. Almost seems like a downgrade. No physical media games, no disc drive, no Blu ray. Same network same support same bs.
Also when I was a kid it was $200 or less for a brand new counsel. Now it’s $500+ what a joke.
More than satisfied with my Series X. I have so many games to play on Game Pass. New ones are dropping every week. Idc if the odd studio closes tbh if I didn't see it in the news I wouldn't have known about it. The PS5 is the disappointing one. Its a PS4 Pro 2.
New ones drop every week, also u losing games every week u not own them... On Ps4 or Ps5 u not lose free games but u keep them with subscription,big difference.
PS4/XB1 will never (and I literally mean never,) go away for several reasons. 1 new machines are BC compatible. So why not release on 2 gens vs 1? It’ll never happen. If ps6 is bc with ps4 then games will be made for ps4 through the ps6 gen as well (same for Xbox but I doubt there will be another MS console.) 1/2 the player base or more are still on old machines because graphics alone isn’t a good enough reason for many to upgrade anymore. Most games produced today will run fine on the older machines. I’m sure there are more reasons but all of those lead to 1.) no reason NOT to be on last gen and 2.) more money for devs. That’s the magic combo
They might have to rethink the PS5 lifecycle at Sony... I don't think it's worth it changing hardware so frequently... PS5 must stay at least till 2035+

This is an opinion of “elitist gamers” that need the very newest of everything there’s no games on the new gen there soulless and not that much of an upgrade , I have no desire to get a PS5 whatsoever the graphics are not that much different and im perfectly content with my ssd ps4 and considering PS3 is still supported almost 20 years later PS4 is here to stay bud. The only people saying they should kill off last gen are the ones trying to justify buying 5-800$ dollar console with no games
I have a ps3, ps4, and ps5. The ps5 is a paper weight. Problem with gaming is that there are too many games to play. Upgrading is becoming irrelevant.
actually ps5 and xbox series are only 3 years 7 months old wont be 4 years till november. i agree the switch ps4 and xbox one need to die off so developer can start taking advantage of these consoles. moved on from ps4 years ago .
