Glad you made it through the artic blast. I'd rather try and salvage parts off a plant that had a disease or root rot than one that had any freeze damage. You have to tip your hat to those opuntia humifusa that can survive through the winter. The ones I have shrivel and turn purple during the winter but they always made it through, even after being under a foot or more of snow. What's the name of the Euphorbia at 5:39? What does the state/county use for icy roads in your neck of the woods? Up here in Michigan, we're blessed with stock piles of underground salt deposits so it's relatively cheap to use on the roads. Look up "Detroit Salt Mines" if you're interested in some mind-blowing information, photos, and videos. Take care
Yes, the Opuntia humifusa, and macrohiza and fragilis varieties ( the small ones) are super tough!!! Love them for their survival abilities. The little Euphorbia is psudoglobosa. Bought it two years ago on line. They use a couple of different things here for snow removal. Salt is one. Cinders is another, you can always tell cause it's gritty black. And they spray a beet juice solution. You can tell it cause you can see the lines on the road where they spray. I'll check that link out!!! And yes, even though I have had to restart plants from frozen pieces before, I'd much rather do it from a rot than a freeze!! There's just so much damage from freezing. And healing from that can take a long time. Thanks for watching Allan!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, out to Ecorse Michigan, have a wonderful day!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌️💖🌵🌷🌴🌸🌿🌻🍀🌾💐🌱🌳🌹🪴😃👍

🌵🌵🌵🌵🌴 Up to a balmy 40 f, here.. feeels like a tropical heat wave compared to what we have had. All of my collection of cacti and succulents made it thru ..so glad about that! My collection is not as extensive or impressive as yours.. (I'm right at 80 pots) But some are very old and or sentimental,, so I would hate to lose any.@@morrisparkintheozarks6831
