We're glad you're enjoying HyperView, Dave! Can't wait to see the trails you ride with HERO11 Black 🙌
Amazing job, had a GoPro hero 8 and surfing, hiking and motocross riding all seem small and wimpy, may have to get the hero 11 after seeing this stuff!
Same quality is 💯/💯 and is perfect for my Mountain biking
The hyperview, while distorted on the edges, conveys steepness much better than without.
Yeah, I know most of the trails shown on this channel are steep, but this video gives me the same uncomfortable feeling as he approaches a steep bit as I get on the trail. I guess that's a point in favor of hyperview.
It does look more daunting at the edge of a hill or jump.
Yeah, the representation of how the trail is steep and the speech is totally better
speed* sorry
I was watching specifically for differences, and i did feel that the steepness came through. The trees at the edge of my vision helped to convey the grade.
You've quickly become my favorite mtb youtuber! The amount of control you have on a bike is incredibly impressive. Keep up the good work man!
I also switched to 11. At the beggining HV felt little bit odd, but I quickly accustomed to it. It is definetaly more foolproof, I almost don't have to worry about correct cameras angle, because hyperview is so wide.
I honestly don't really care for the hyperview look, I find it's just a bit too warped! I think I will just stick with superview myself :)
This setting is perfect, it takes some adjusting t9 get used to the skinner bike but if you look at the edges of the frame everything has a slight curve and that adds to the impressiveness.
I have a feeling that with hyperview it gives you a little bit more of a speed feeling as on the edges the footage is very fast! Love it so far
It looks great. I believe everyone understands that a wider FOV comes with some distortion, but the compromise is worth it. I get a much better sense of the environment you're in, not just the window in front of you.
This is the best GoPro11 mtb video so far! Great job man, thanks! I think the hyperview in chest mount is too wide (I hate to see thin hands) but with the chin mount it makes a prefect view.
I like the ”normal” view just a little more.. 👍
Stabilization and encoded details look a lot better somehow. During the ride I don't see those distortions (Thanks for showing it, I was really curious how this asymetrical stretching will turn out!) - all in all I'd say it's a win!
Great video buddy! I'm enduro rider and I'm used to that kind of terrain BUT this video is sick! And you're good! It's been pleasure to watch!
Wow the stabilization really impressed me! The fov is great! Great stuff Dave!
man, this footage looks incredible! Really conveys steepness!
yeah, I'd say that from watching your other videos I'd prefer having a wider view and partly distorted around the edges rather than a smaller view with no distortion. It makes the ride video more inclusive.
I do notice it, and it's a bit distracting as the scenery passes. My personal preference is for slightly less fov with less distortion. That having been said, I appreciate what you do and will enjoy either way.
I recently got back into MTB - and also bought a GoPro Hero 11 to record footage for my channel. The Hero 11 delivers really impressive results using hyper view. Keep up the great videos!
Looks perfect on this video. I prefer seeing more of what the rider sees than a very narrow field of vision on normal set ups
Awesome video and sick riding! The hyperview does do a good job of showing Hope steep and gnarly the trails you ride are.
Have you tried the new 8:7 aspect ratio?
The distortion is kinda messing with me , noticed something different in the last vid but couldn't quite put my finger on it. Now you've pointed it out I can't unsee it . Great video , just not a huge fan of the hyperview in all honesty
Wow this was captivating, from the very beginning until the last frame. You have amazing skills! Wish I could ride nearly as good as you...
I'm not a professional photographer or downhill rider, but your video still look good in this format. I can only really tell when you're at the top of a jump, or looking down at a cliff, but I agree with another comment somebody wrote that it really attributes to the steepness of the Hill
I actually get a little motion sickness from hyperview, maybe I 'm just too sensitive for it
Yeah, I get the same thing. Not sure what it is, but, for me, the wider view is nice.
These settings feel more immersive to me! I like it. Great vid as always :D
I think the perfect solution would be in the middle, you get to see enough, but not as much distortion. I did notice it in the last video, it’s not too bad but it gets very distracting after a while
Definitely feels more real. This is what it actually looks like when riding. Although there is warping I feel like you can tell the steepness of the trail a bit better. May be a bit harder to watch for longer periods of time. Also, there is some sick riding in this👏.
It looks awesome and it's sooooooooooooooooooooooo stable, love the content Dave, keep it up.
0:17 EGG BIKE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Hyper view looks ok for this purpose. It's when things pan across from left to right. But a POV with "fixed" things like a handbar and hands, it looks ok. Looks quite good.
soo good! love the wider field of view 🎉
Whoa Dangerous Dave has a face! I really dig this footage, the wide view is fantastic for mtb pov
I love the stabilization on the GoPro Hero 11, it will be great to shoot some shots with that while on trails or hills.
Hyper view is great. Get a lot more context if the trail. Feels a lot better seeing more of the tree line and not just the ground. You’ve always done a great job with your angle but this is even better.
With hyperview there are a couple odd frames you notice, but its well worth it for the steepness and dynamic it gives
awesome video, awesome riding skills 👌 the quality of the video blown my mind. can you tell us more about camera setting, any post processing? I have gopro7 black. my videos are always blurry and colors are not great especially in the woods thanks
hyperview looks good, so much more area to view but i think the best thing to come with current cameras is the image stabilisation
Stabilization is amazing. I have Hero 4 and 5, but i think i need an update hahaha. Really cool the video, nice trail
Looks awesome. Very clear image. Other then Hyperview what other settings did you have?
Amazing riding as always!
Hey Dave, awesome Video! How did you mount the GoPro? I find the chesty tends to wobble around and my footage isn’t by far not as stable as yours - and my trails are not the rough. 😂
Ride on! 💪👌
The people at 5:31 are the chillest people I know. I would've been pretty jazzed if someone rode by me like you did 😂
your footage is so smooth and stable it looks unreal
I think the hyperview distortions actually Mimic the motion blur and distortions the rider sees while moving. It makes it feel more real than just watching a flat footage. Definitely keep it.
Awesome riding!
Wow this looks incredible with the HyperView!!
Great Video and riding, if I had to criticize I would say the handlebar looks distorted, but that minor. Overall it's more immersive and you get a better feel for the steepness.
Dave, love watching your videos and what you can do on a bike. What fender are you using?
Awesome riding dude!
Have you got your gopro 11 settings used here anywhere to see? I ride similar light conditions in the woods/forrests to your videos 👌
Great riding and the footage looks awesome to me.
The new GoPro is noticeable. All of your footage for the last few years has been fantastic but the newest rig makes the steeps look real vs flattened out.
That's awesome 😊😊, what kind of tyres do you actually use, they look powerful 😊. Safe riding and thanks for sharing
Nice video, good job.
Audio is captured with the Media Mod ?
I love this setting, I think it looks great
Yeah hyperview distorts a bit too much sadly
Is that in the highest hypersmooth setting? If so, it' crops the hyperview in quite well, but I think I still prefer superview with less stabilisation for chin mount
I noticed the usage of hyperview on a few mountainbike youtube videos lately and i have to admit, that i prefer superview. For me superview hits the sweetspot between seeing enough and not looking to funky on the edges. But maybe one gets used to it and after a while it feels weird to watch videos with superview :)
The hyperview made all the skinnies you were riding look like a typical wooded trail. Insane!
Looks great. These are awesome. Which trails are these ?
Impressive balance!
I think hyperview for POV is perfect! 4K 60fps doesn’t get Better than that! I tried to recreate the 8:7 full frame mode to make my own hyperview but it didn’t work as good. It sucks because you lose the dual vertical and horizontal aspect. I hope GoPro can release a plugin to create the hyperview from the full frame setting. Great videos man! look forward to more!
GoPro just released a tool for Premiere and AE that can create HyperView from 8:7 ! It's in the FX Reframe Plugin. Give it a go, it's epic!
@@abekislevitz is it a new tool? I have the fx reframe,
@@dpbikes it was updated a few days ago
Footage looks great, what were you using before the hero 11?
Would love to see more people use this especially skills with phil
Dave are you doing any postprocessing other than color correction.. like extra stabilization? I wouldn't think you are using a gimbal either... All i have is an 8 so I cant really get a grasp on how you make such intense riding look so smooth!
for a helm mount and just the cam this is really good
Cool video buddy 🤘🔥
looks great. how do you get no wind noise?
Hyperview is too distorted for my taste but I can see why you'd wanna use it. The best GoPro angle setting I've ever seen (most realistic + getting everything into the frame) is superview in vertical mount. Not ideal for YT videos though.
Sick! Can share a photo what is the angle of your gopro in your chin mount. Thanks
Dave, what's your preference? chest or chin mounting
I can see the steepness better but it does look wonky at times. The frame drops as well but I guess its because of my poor internet connection. Thinking about getting one myself. Very happy with the go pro 7 but it does make the trails look flat. Do you use a special Computer?
I like this camera it shows the steepness well
The weird distortion around your arms breaks the immersion a little bit but otherwise not bad.
the quality is stupid good. amazing vid
You make all of this look so easy ;-) And then starting at 4:36 one sees why ... it's pure bike control ... I'm in awe 😁
This thing really looks great!
Looked amazing! However, i also got eye surgery recently, and that also contributes haha.
As long as Hyperview is used only for its intended purpose it looks great - otherwise it can be a bit nausea inducing i find.
And my man, GoPro should be sending you these things in my opinion.
Hi, could you please tell me what your exact settings are? Although the M8m is a gopro 10, it should be similar. Your shots are beautifully clear even in the forest and mine are blurry as if I had vaseline on the screen
Thanks
Dave, how does the 8:7 ratio crop horizontal and vertical? Does it work or still not wide enough?
You are such a G! Keep laughin' it off 👍
It looks fantastic! This is the best feature of the Hero 11 imho
Do they make those fenders for the Zeb Ultimate? Looking for a full fender.
This camera is awesome 👍
Hi, is the horizont locked or not? thx. Looks awesome btw
Can you make a video on how to make your bike quite like yours thanks btw love the video
Definitely feel the speed and steepness more, but 99% of the quality is in the riding regardless of the camera. Thanks for the great video Dave.
Hey Dave, do you remember your settings for the 11 by any chance? :D
In your last video the distortion was somehow more noticable, bordering on distracting. Here it´s good, though. I think only when you do quick pans with the camera it is really noticeable.
I noticed the bump in clarity and this explains why
nice ride, how are you using all travle and don t go bottom out
I watched it at max res and it was a wild ride. I felt myself on the bike!
Cool camera, man. 😎
Sooooooo good!!!
I love your videos, but now I love them much more…
I like the sound of your hub 😎
What tire and pressure do you run in the front? You seem to have a ton of confidence in your front tire.
are those the One Up carbon bars?
What export settings are you using when rendering the video? I get a lousy blocky quality on YT when rendering and uploading gopro hero 11 5k 60fps footage. Dont know why, can you help?
I can't remember exactly, but probably 4k 60 at high (maybe 80mbps?) bitrate. I've heard rumors that bigger channels get better quality uploads, but can't confirm anything.
Dig it. Looks dope
Anyone else see that rock on the left at 4:24 and think: “That should be a drop!”? 😅
Anyways, great video as always Dave! Love ur stuff! I might be picking up a Go Pro 11 soon, so thank you for showcasing its capabilities!
what settings do you use for the GoPro for biking
1:35 whats that? This blur efect? How to remove it? I have the same in my videos with boost stabilization
