- In honor of National Senior Citizens Day this August 21, correspondent Nancy Giles brings us a love story about Phil and Dolly, two old friends in Maine - both widowed, and thinking their ships had sailed - who found themselves falling in love in their golden years, and about their bizarre choice for a honeymoon, which Phil's daughter, folksinger Catie Curtis, felt deserved a song.

Mr. Whitney, please, FOR your wife, you need to enjoy life again. Reach out to a Grief Counselor-again, FOR the love you have for your wife, because love shouldn't hold anyone hostage, love is remembering all of the good times, while you are smiling. You somehow got stuck in this part of the grieving process. (Personal note-I believe we are reunited with all of our loved ones after this life. Not in the sense of "mama! Dad! Oh, Cousin Mary! But as souls that feel the love and connection of love.) I'm so hoping you'll do this-you'll feel so much relief. I understand your generation didn't grow up hearing its better to share your feelings or go to counselors but as the generation just under yours, I can tell you it really, really helps. I'm cheering for you!

I’ve been to Reny’s before while visiting Maine. It’s quirky, it really cool. Kind of like a Big Lots/ Ollie’s, if you’ve ever heard of those.

Some women have a knack for finding a new husband after divorce or after their husband dies. One of my neighbors married 5 times and all of them passed before she did. I have been divorced half my life and never met another prince. Sadly they were all 'frogs'. It is evident that a woman or man does not have to be beautiful to find happiness the second time around. Age and beauty have nothing to do with finding a mate but mutual attraction from the heart and soul is a prerequisite for me at least.
