How is speeding, running red lights, and blowing through stop signs while driving a company truck any different than what the Safelite driver did? People see a Pipe Doctor truck driving like that and it reflects on the company.
Stop signs are a completely pointless North American thing. They’re all redundant. However, Mike continues to drive distracted by using his cell phone whilst driving. If the police weren’t completely cucking useless in America, they’d be able to prosecute him for each offence.

The service call featured in this video was a classic example of a little knowledge being a dangerous thing and the stupidity of the 'just have a go' kind of attitude and limited thought processes. The ignorance and arrogance beggars belief. It quickly became evident how little the guy actually knew. It was one red flag after another. Such situations can be problematic because as a qualified technician there is a potential of such customers blaming you for problems they have created or create after the fact. It can be difficult to know when to accept a job or just not get involved and walk away.
I have these conversations weekly with customers. I go out of my way to explain things and once in a while they either acted like we didn't have the conversation or claim they didn't understand. I still get paid. lol

In the automotive world, you can change connectors by cutting off the connector (or remove with pins from plastic connector with special removal tool). I suspect the same can be done for HVAC?? Of course, the issue is finding a supplier to sell that connector. For what it's worth, I think your solutions was quicker and cheaper
His repair is it’s great only thing that I would’ve done and this is like if you wanna be super tech is too heat shrink those things but that’s doing too much this ain’t no open heart surgery

Corrosion between the contacts, and thermal stress from the contacts getting hot and cooling down can cause the spring action of the contacts to lose tension and loosen up.
Future Skill to aquire, you can get tools to de-pin and then re-pin those connectors. Might be a PITA the first couple of times, but after you get good at it its Tits. Then if you get the Pin kit you could install Deutsch connectors vs wegos. Tons of kits for 1 to 10 wire connectors, something like, 174Pcs 12 Kits Deutsch Connector Kit With Ratcheting Wire Crimper, 2 3 4 6 8 12 Pin Connectors Automotive Electrical Connectors With Size 16 Stamped Contacts IP68 Waterproof. under 25 amps you can get 12 Awg connectors for pumps and other line voltage devices.
