Hey Raquel! Love the oil change videos. One thing I learned being a diesel tech is too punch a hole in the bottom of the oil filter with a hammer and punch or some sort of pointed tool. It let's the oil drain out of the filter without having it run over the top, just less of a mess and easier to work with. Have a great day!!!

You need something behind each rear tire so it doesn't roll, just in case. If you get trapped under that car, it will be 15 hours before someone finds you.
Why 15 hours? Such a specific number.

I'm with you on filling the filter beforehand. Just did a oil change on my 21 1LE yesterday.

6:37 mark 🙌👏👍🤗 I yanked too hard and stripped the oil plug out so had to pay to get the oil pan drain plug tapped and rethreaded . Since I messed up instead of probably $50 to get oil change done ended up selling out another $150 😵🤯 Should have taken my time like you do !

i know how to change a tire, brakes and eventually oil filter change. wish i grew up learning to mess with cars, building and flipping cars is the thing to do in this economy!
I think it's awsome a ladies can wrench. My mom and aunt had their own shop back in the late 60's and early 70's. They had to have my uncle Pat there so guys that had a problem with it would let women work on their cars. It was a way different time. Tip: If you spin the oil bottle backwards so as the holw is away from where you are poring it becomes a spout. It let's you have more control of where you pour the oil. Great job.

I use Race Ramps instead of using jack stands, unless I have to take the tires off. Much safer and don’t have to worry about the car falling.

When you mentioned support the vehicle with jack stands, you forgot to mention, that, if you value your life, DO NOT use Harbor Freight jack stands. Remember that huge recall they had that was never properly corrected? Just thought that was worth mentioning since it should not be that way with simple tools and similar items. Regardless, keep up the great work.

Well I thought the same when I first change my own oil change many years away fast forward today I rebuilt engines now 😬
LMAO seriously? It's just about the simplest thing you can do to a car… It literally only requires two things… A jug(5 quarts)ol of recommended oil and a filter… That's it!!🤣 … Literally remove the bolt from the pan to drain the the old oil then unscrew the old filter… Screw on the new filter… Put the bolt back in the pan and pour the damn oil in the engine! Should take no longer than 15 minutes… if you can't trust yourself to do an oil change and think you'll "screw something up"… I wouldn't let you do a damn thing for me lol… Either you don't know how to do it or you have psychological confidence issues…

You should put synthetic oil in your Camaro because it lasts longer than regular oil meaning it doesn't degrade or break down after time FYI

I have a 2018 camaro and the dealer told me we need a special oil filter. Which filter do you use? Is it a high performance filter? Not sure how true it is that it's needed.

Generally Racing Engine Oil/s are Red In Colour. The racing oil you used looked like average engine oil. Have you used Royal Purple Engine Oil in your Camaro ?
Can you tell me how you got the jack under the side? I went to do my oil change when I first got my Camaro and I couldn't get it under the front or side so I gave up and took it to a shop😒😒

Please tell me your using jack stands for safety and not just the jacks. I’ve had a jack fail on me while I was under a car and I almost had my skull cracked open from the pinch weld of the frame and the concrete. I would hate for you to have to experience it or worse. 🙏 please get a set 🤙🙂

Pouring the oil into the new filter before you put it on is an old hot rodders trick. I don't know for a fact if it works like they say but they claimed by doing that it makes the oil circulate through the engine at least a little faster and therefore reducing wear right after an oil change. I know this, it can't hurt anything.
I always add a tiny bit to the filter but not too much or you’ll just have a mess.

I cringe when I see people under a car with only a single jack holding it up, I prefer a plan B of something else as in another jack or spare in place to catch the car if something were to go wrong you ain't bench pressing your way out of a 2000+ pound car. Good Job Raquel 👍
What are you talking about? I have 2 jack stands under it I leave the jack there for another support the car is on 2 jack stands
I would strongly advise you to use Jack stands. Jacks can leak and you don't want the car coming down on you. Safety first!
