“Sand Everywhere “ I am belly laughing “memories “
Oh carolyn you’re in my area. I love that you got to be on the beach down there alone. It’s so pretty and so rare to have the beach empty. That’s an area I love.
I live here in Corpus Christi I would never ever camp down that far on the beach by myself but I'm glad you had a safe time a beautiful time
Very dangerous. That couple that was murdered a few years ago.
Agreed. Not safe at all.
Thank God She was safe. God had his angels watching over her.
Sadie has an awesome dog life. She’s lucky you adopted her.
Or Sadie adopted Carolyn. 😃
Sadie looks really intelligent she seems to wanna be the tourist instead of hearing about it and when she did the little handshake trip she was looking at Caroline like really I’m capable of so much more please can we do more? Just look at her facial expressions and the sound she makes.
@@DuvAngel1. It’s like you can see her brain working as she looks out the window….she is one smart cookie🍪.
Sadie is such an adorable fur baby!
My parents went to Padre Island every year for 6 months , from Michigan , He died down there in the hospital . I couldn't go see him in the ICU cuz Michigan had a blizzard 17inches of snow ..No lights to Padre Island only to Houston $900 one way ..I did get to talk with on the phone and pray for him the day before he died. But so far seeing the drive it looks beautiful . I would have loved the drive . I love oceans...
❤❤❤ As a Texan who used to work in South Texas and take care of the visitors from the Midwest. I hope your father was cared for with love and concern just as I would have cared for him as I am a retired RN who cared for cardiac patients.
Sorry for your loss .
Wow really did not realize how intense making a video is
Went with my mom 1x before I had kids it was fun
Been their camping with my kids had lots of fun
I lived in Texas for over 22 years and never went to Padre Island. Though I knew many who did. Now I understand what the draw was. Thank you Carolyn. Love the everyday living footage interspersed with beautiful scenery and conversations. Very enjoyable.
Hello from El Paso Texas. I am a native Texan and love Corpus and Padre. El Paso is in the beautiful desert. I say this because I know you understand the beauty and serenity of the desert.
I camp free up along the entire Texas Gulf coast all winter long. If you’re ever in Texas again you don’t have to go all the way down to Padre. Check out Brazoria County Beach, Follets Island Beach, Crystal Beach, and Quintana Beach. Miles and Miles and MILES of free beach camping. I just move every 14 days and rotate thru all the public beach from Matagorda to Bolivar Penisula (Crystal Beach area).
The editing part was fascinating. I am hoping to get my son, 23, with autism, to go on the road with me in a few years. He is pretty tech savvy and would love to have him perfect his skills on the road. He is also a "savant" when it comes to geography and capitals and geography of countries. I just think him having a way to express himself on you tube would be great. Any video help is awesome so I can show him what he can do. Thank you
This is what we want to do with our special needs 15 yr old son. Also looking at wwoofing with him. Good way to learn life skills and working skills and still be with him.
I am also autistic, as is my middle son. My 2 boys did WELL on road trips, and we all fell in love with Padre. 😊
What month is this in the video? I mean you have on long sleeves. Lol
Carolyn, it would really be worth your while to drive 2 hours south to South Padre Island, Texas as the beach is absolutely the best and cleanest beach in Texas!!
I agree.
It’s like Sadie was saying “I have to help my jelly friend! He’s stuck on the beach!” She’s so cute
Padre Island is a beautiful place. I was out in the water & saw a guy on the beach looking out at the water where I was. I looked behind me and there was several dolphins swimming by me. ♥️😍
We love "Pa-lash-ous" Palacios. Hubby grew up near there. We are in Corpus. Very pretty beaches but its really hot here. The island is fun the go camping. ❤
Hi. You look beautiful and happy as ever. I enjoyed this episode very much. I appreciate how much effort and imagination you put into entertaining us and inspiring us.
Your videos are so relaxing to watch after a stressful day of work thank you for posting them :)
I was born in corpus Christi and it was good seeing the beautiful beach and loved the sound of the waves 👍😁
Carolyn, I love your Channel. I've been watching since 2018. I grew up in TX. Went to Padre many times. Yes, James and Michelle Butler were killed in 2019. Also, I had two high school friends who were musicians, he played guitar and she sang. A few weeks after they sang at my wedding in July of 1974 they were camping on the north shore of Padre. He was murdered, and she was kidnapped, put in the trunk of her car for several days while the killer drove her north. I think she started sending SOS signal by shorting out the tail lights of the car. She was saved and the perpetrator arrested in Denton TX. There is no way I would camp there, ever... I took my Girl Scout troop there in the 80s. Of course some were stung by jelly fish. It that happens, make a paste of meat tenderizer with water, and put it on the wound. It neutralizes the venom. It worked for my girls.
Also, the reason why there are so many police officers is to keep watch out for illegals, and drug transportation from Mexico. If you get a chance stop in at Lockhart TX and have some TX BBQ (cooked in smokers over 100 years old), Blacks BBQ and Kreuz (Pronounced "Kritz). German settlers form the late 1800s settled there and brought their sausage recipe with them. I have not found any "Texas sausage" like it anywhere out of the state of TX. Its something to try at least once. Lockhart's town square has been in many movies. My grandfather was a barber there on the town square from the early 1930s to 1970. Thanks for posting all your great travels! I really have enjoyed them.
How phenomenal that your friend thought of shorting out the brake lights to signal SOS. The sausage sounds good. If I ever go to that area of Texas, I'll check it out. Although, Texas is not top of my list since I live at the Gulf of Mexico in Florida. 😏
The sounds of the ocean, and the action of the waves, is so rejuvenating ❤😊
Thank goodness for the $1000 fine for littering. It's beautiful, safe, and clean. Gotta love Texas ❤
We were there last June and loved it. We stayed in a county park for $15 a night. It had electric and water hookups. Padres Island was one of our stops out to Yellowstone. We made a 8300 mile circle from Myrtle Beach, SC. It took 74 days. We were in a van. Loved it! Thanks for sharing your adventure at Padres Island.
You can touch and even grab the topside of that jellyfish. The stinging tentacles dangle from the underside when in the water. Totally LOVED your drive over the Harbor Bridge and then heading to the island over the Kennedy Causeway. Been over that at least a thousand times. Glad you enjoyed it and as in just about any place you go, be aware and vigilant. While in Texas, you absolutely MUST check out Big Bend NP and see the Marfa lights in Marfa, TX. Also a phenomenal observatory in West Texas called the McDonald Observatory. There’s so much in Texas!!
Oh wow, good to know. Thank you so much Rachel. Yes, it was a great trip.
I actually feel similar about beaches. I’m honestly not a fan. I keep thinking how nice it looks, and then yeah, I go a tad bonkers with everything containing sand literally all through my car. I live in Florida and friends will obsess over beach time, yet I just don’t get into it. Great video as always! My dog, unlike me, would love roaming around that beach where you were.
I thought that was me on your thumbnail and so did my family!! We could be twins!!
I used to go to south padre island all the time when my grandparents lived in Brownsville Texas. It was a short drive thru the speed traps to the island from there. It is one of my favorite beaches. It's really nice away from the hotel areas. You can walk for miles on the beach. Thanks for sharing, it brought back beach memories from when I was there.
Boy editing is a ton of work. This made me appreciate your efforts even more
❤ I so loved this video. I woke up in the middle of the night and wow I needed this. Thank you so much. Sadie is just wow. The best. She's such a great companion. Happy trails.
Your video of the ocean (bay) was perfect. I love salt water, and your video made me feel as though I could smell the salt air if I took a deep breath ❣️
I love my Corpus Christi!!!! Born and raised here though I have lived other places corpus is home and padre island is the best!! So glad to have found your channel ❤
Like the beach and camping on the sand. Like the desert with it’s tough beauty. My soul loves the mountains most of all. Jeffrey pines with their fragrance. When you stay @ a cracker barrel you try to convince yourself the traffic noise is the ocean.
Sadie has beautiful feet in the sand. Such a pretty dog. I really enjoyed this video. It's interesting to see the editing process. And the ears!
My youngest son was born in Padre Island. I lived there and loved it, but God gave us obstacles, and I returned to West Texas. That was forty-three years ago, and I'm sure it has changed a lot; my husband worked the rigs, so all the wives became good friends; we went to South Padre almost daily. Wash up your RV well when you leave the area; it will turn your RV into a rust bucket. They had drive-through sprayers that sprayed off the undercarriage of our cars on the way back to Town.
Nice video Carolyn. Camping on the beach sounds absolutely perfect. Watching your editing process was interesting… lots of work. Enjoy Texas:)
There you go again. Going places i can only dream about. Thank you for this video.❤😊
My pleasure 😊
Good evening Carolyn. You always seem to pick the most perfect music for your videos. Love it!!!!😊
Thank you, Carolyn, I have not been to the USA before and I'm so glad I found you and I get to go on your adventure with you my friend 😊thanks it's so beautiful there🥰thank for sharing stay safe
I love the sound of the waves!! Thank you for this video♡
That sandwich looks amazing, I enjoyed the editing info and I would love to camp on that beach for weeks! Thanks Carolyn!
Thanks, Carolyn and Sadie. I stayed at the Luther Hotel back in the 80's in Palacios. They were re-furbishing the rooms at the time. It was pretty neat, but felt a little "haunting." They had a huge kitchen and local people come for the breakfast buffet. Enjoyed the video!
I love your dog and I love when you interact with her…she’s a sweet!
Thank you Caroline. I really enjoyed this video in the wee hours Mon. a.m. I like the snippets of all you see/do. And esp the Gulf water sounds.
I’m from CC. Wish I could have met you. Just a warning for any viewers considering going to south padre, always check tide charts. Sometimes the tide can go up to the sand dunes and you can get trapped for a bit. Park your rig as close to the dunes without getting into the soft sand. Getting stuck out here is no fun and the tow services suck and charge hefty sometimes. The first jellyfish I believe was a cabbage head and the last was a moon jelly. If you are lucky at night you may see the moon jellies glow . It is true it is sticky and sandy and does get annoying but I’ve lived here my whole life and just used to it. Make sure you wash the salty water off of everything because rusting is a real problem. Anyhow, I know you are nowhere near here now and wish I could have chatted with you just a bit. I’m a loner also, but have a family with teenagers still. This lifestyle is my dream. Maybe one day.
Also the coyotes usually don’t go near humans but if they do steer clear, may have rabies. Watch your pets all the time the coyotes will grab them if given a chance.
My sister goes to Alamo Texas every year to escape the winter and her and her husband and friends go to Padre Island all the time She says it’s beautiful there. Enjoy Carolyn.
Thanks for sharing Padra island beautiful. Looks so relaxing. Love it.
A true eye for video, love your content. When you was down in cajun country, you was only a couple of miles from our favorite boondocking place. Thanks Pop & Capt Dee
For a birder, Padre Island is Paradise. I stayed a month and enjoyed every minute.
Is Padre Island that good for birding? It is certainly desolate and beautiful and on my birding destination bucket list, along with Aransas, Bentsen Rio Grand and Santa Ana WR….is winter a good time to be there? I want to see Big Bend also but I read that the hummers don’t show up there until March…hard to coordinate everything, may have to be two trips.
Just wanted to add Matagorda County Bird Park is pretty awesome as well in my opinion. It is just south of Bay City where the video started.
Loved this video, it's great to see the Beautiful places you find to overnight. Glad you're doing some history content again love listening to it and seeing the historical places you show.
Hi Carolyn, You are so smooth in the way you share your videos, it’s like we are in the RV with you. Another great trip to enjoy! I’m traveling in my in my own chair. Good blessing’s to you and Sadie
Beautiful. I love the information you give on these types of video. Very enjoyable. Greetings from England xx
Welcome to Texas ..Great video Carolyn.Safe travels.
Awe! You were in my neck of the woods! So glad you got to experience the beach at Padre Island. I love the beach too but can only take a day of it. Love your videos.
Not a big Texas fan but I do love me some Padre Island! What a wonderful stop, thanks for sharing!!
Love all your content❤ Padre Island is on my bucket list 😊
Love me some Padre! Love all the rest of my Lone Star State, too! Thx for sharing! ❤😊
I enjoyed your video creation section….such a lot of work to create a video. Thanks for doing that
We are moving to Houston this summer. Will be living with my son. I cant wait to travel around Texas and see everything.
I agree with the ocean being loud. It’s so beautiful, yet to me it’s loud. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you
Great video!
Love Sadie watching the sunrise out the RV window…So cute!
Pretty beach!
Was that a coyote peaking over the sand dune??
This video brought back a lot of good memories. I lived in Corpus for 10 years. Thanks 😊
I had no idea this was this much work to put together a video! Thank you so much for sharing this! Your videos are not boring! Keep up the good work!
I camped on the beach west of Galveston and loved it. We all have our favorite places.
I love the shore and the sound of the ocean, walking through the water and how healthy the grounding is. I miss it so much.
I gotta say, I loved your "real" opinions. Good or bad, you're real...that's what i love about you! ❤
G'day Carolyn great to see you again on here. Warm greetings from Australia.
Great, enjoyable video! 12 degrees below zero here in Illinois today!
Never bored with your video s I enjoy the walk on the beach . Is been cold and wendy in the Mojave desert. Stay warm 💗🙏
What a gorgeous SUNSET for you and Sadie at Padre!!
Great video! Beautiful area!
Great video Carolyn! Sadie had a great time !😍I was thinking that too, the ocean sound got irritating after awhile?! 😊
I love it when you’re talking with Sadie and I look at her eyes and make up her return conversation in my head. :-)
Fantastic video Carolyn... surprisingly, I saw my name come up while you were scrolling the comments before editing. What a gorgeous spot to boondock! I don't blame you for trying to catch up on videos. It's obviously A LOT of work. When do you get to completely relax and get a break? I appreciate all of your hard work and wonderful videos. Safe travels...hope you have a great time in Arizona.👍😊 By the way, are you still gluten free? Everything you cook looks outstanding.
Nice to see you out and about in the sun again Carolyn enjoy~ but it's - 2 in BC or - 50 in some parts, so enjoy the sun while you have it.
I'm an Ocean beach lover, a part of my soul it seems... Loved this video, found it very relaxing.and googled it, coyotes on Padre Island yes, indeed! Learn something new everyday, thanks, Carolyn!
Thank you for sharing this! ❤
Looks beautiful there!! The sound of the surf must be relaxing!!
Just an fyi, Palacios is pronounced "pa-lash-ous." Lived there and Port Lavaca down the road a few years ago. Corpus is a wonderful city, as are all the little gulf-facing port communities between Galveston and Corpus.
No it's not, unless you're Castilian with a lisp. Whole history how THAT started. That is a mispronunciation.
It is if you are local to Palacious, TX.
Like the word Palace, from sailors seeing them when shipwrecked. It is a Texas thing. Along with Buda [ bewda] and many others.
Palashous is a mispronunciation that people have accepted as correct, but it's not . This happens to alot of Texas towns.
@melvapryor9868 I totally understand what and where you are coming from. However, there is no true Spainish or English spoken in Texas or even the USA. We typically use a perverted vernacular of them that is socially accepted as correct. By doing this other's will understand the speakers attempt to communicate. Most words here are an amalgamation of many languages. One example is the common word Yea used in place of yes.
I'm in Quartzsite now but planning on going to Corpus Christi April to see friends. I'll have to check out Padre Island while I'm there.
Thanks for showing this.
I loved camping on padre island, directly on the beach,14 day stays in each spot.
New subscriber here from Wisconsin 😀I absolutely love your channel. I appreciate the history behind the places you visit. During Christmas 2022 I was in the hospital with heart issues. For the next month I was on a lot of restrictions and that is when I found people like you who gave me a chance to see parts of the country that I only have dreamed of. Seeing the country through your lense is incredible very calming and peaceful. I love water! There is something about water and how it soothes the soul. Thank you for sharing your adventures!
I was in Padra in 2009 and loved it but we were in a very tiny but fun motel on the beach. But you are right it get kinda redundant(I think this is the right term) after a few days unless your there to be a tourist and shop as there really isn't much sightseeing. We did go to the turtle wildlife and rescue and that was fun and educational center. Thanks for sharing all the beautiful shots and telling about the little town. Blessings!
@CarolynsRVLife I’ve been a subscriber, and I have watched you since the beginning of your channel, a Hartfield thank you, and sincere appreciation where is your candor in all your adventures. It’s awesome seeing you laugh it’s so genuine and it’s wonderful that you’re having new experiences. I admire you❤
Wow, Carolyn- that shot of the pilings leading out to sea - really special ❤
That dog on the dunes when Sadie was growling, seemed more like a coyote.
It was. Hope Sadie is extra careful out there.
This video is so informative about building videos. It's much more complicated than I imagined! And, you seem so happy on the island. Thank you Carolyn!
What a gorgeous spot!
Love it! Safe travels!
P.S. I love Whole Foods!
Love these longer videos!!! Beautiful spot!!! But can definitely understand the dampness and humidity !!
Love that slow mo beach shot
You're happy and focused in this video! 🎉
Good to see Texas thru your eyes. 😊 TY
Now let's not forget that it's Relaxing. How funny Carolyn!
Great video. Don't be afraid of Texas. I grew up there and my family were a big group of yellow dog Democrats. Really enjoyed watching your work process. ❤
Your videos have been kind of long but I break them up into a couple of days to get through but I still watch them.👍
I know we're all different...I love the longer videos! 🥰
Me too. I just hate the fact that I have too many intrusions.
Loved this one!! Lived in Corpus for years, so I knew exactly where you were!
I spent months on the beach near Galveston. I loved it! Probably because I love to swim in the Gulf. Swimming several times a day makes you feel fresh even in the humidity. I did take have the beach with me when I left though. I just gave up on keeping sand out of the RV. My dog Buddy has a fluffy coat and carried it in 😂. Swept it out later. ❤
Really enjoy your videos. Your content is entertaining and beautiful. Feel I have a connection with your personality. You are so lucky to have your freedom❤
❤Thank you for Sharing ❤ It's been a very very long time since I have visited there at the beach. 😊
Lovely place! I’m always happy when I’m on the water! 😊
What a fun video! Be happy, be free (youre already kind). What a view of the Gulf....
Wow, you're a wiz on that computer, there's alot involved in the great videos u produce. Great job!
Ha ha! We get to enjoy the beach and visiting with you! Minus the sand, noise and humidity! I visit family in Charleston SC and find beach picnics with real sand sandwiches not so great! Keep on being “on the road again”
Great spot again wow the sounds of waves will put you to sleep. Love it
I spent every of my summer on the Chesapeake Bay been stung by sea nettles many times. It really stings. One way to get rid of the pain is Adolph’s meat tenderizer! Not something you’d have on hand but it works😆. Have only been through the top of Texas on my way to New Mexico over 20 yrs ago. Looks beautiful.
