I am so happy to be a part of this fan-base! Their songs are chocked with positive messages and obviously attract like minded folks. It's been 48 h since they posted this reaction not particularly digging what is an important song to many fans. . . . and I just perused the 75 comments, and for the most part they are all RESPECTFUL!! I have not ever seen something like this on CZcams ever!!! TheOne seems to understand these guys are already fans and an important part of the community. and throwing negativity around reflects poorly on the group as well as the fans!!! Negativity is just not a part of Babymetal's DNA. Sometimes fans can get overly protective as they have watched the girls grow up and have some parentalish instinct to shield them. . . .nothing is perfect. Also, for many English is not their native language, so it can be difficult to get the right tone in their comments. . . .google translated for example. . . . But for the most part, I have never seen a more positive and inviting fan-base. Not perhaps surprising from a band with songs like IJAME DAME ZETTAI (No more bullying forever!). I highly recommend the Sonisphere 2014 performance. It was their first show outside of Asia, and they were bumped up to the main stage of about 60,000 fans the majority of which did not know them. . . . .UK festival crowds being natoriously hostile, the girls were afraid they would be rejected, booed, or worse (apparently, bottles of urine were hurled at performers in the past). I recommend you quickly read the lyrics to this one before you watch it as this song is very important. Su stated in an interview that there were letters from fans that had been bullyed that communicated the song helped them get through a very rough experience and gave them hope when they most needed it. Yes, a song that has most likely saved lives! Doesn't get more positive than that. Great HONEST reactions and thank you. Kitsunes up!!🤘🦊🤘

Good reaction. This song was inspired by and pays homage to X Japan's classic 'Endless Rain'. I completely understand about not liking slow ballads, they're not my thing either, but in the Legend S performance in particular Su really makes me feel this one.
Just a couple of (possibly) interesting snippets about 'No Rain, No Rainbow'. It has only been performed live 7 times (this was the second). First time was at the Legend 1999 concert in June 2013, so the song was ready, had been performed ... and Su was not happy with her delivery.
She felt she was concentrating so much on hitting the right notes and singing the right lyrics and that she didn't have the life experience to feel the meaning or to give this song the emotion it deserved.
She did not want to record it for the first album - she wasn't ready. She was still only 15.
Only after she saw people crying in the audience did she realise her voice could effect people so much, only then was she prepared to record the song - it was included on the second album in 2016, 3 years after its live debut.

One of the most beautiful BM ballads as a SuMetal solo act and clearly a tribute to X-Japan Endless Rain, btw SuMetal recently said in a interview that the first CD she got from a gift was an X-Japan CD.❤
Don't miss out the live version at Legend S Baptism XX 2017 SuMetal 20th Birthday in Hiroshima. Trust me it hits different, also heavily blocked so take precautions if you wanna share that version.

hard to believe she was 16 years old here. the better one would have been from the Legend X concert in 2017. i think they have only done this song like 3 or 4 times live. but like every band there will always be songs not everyone likes. to me it shows Su can do anything any style any genre.

The problem with this song is that it doesn't have that babymetal ingredient, it could be a very good ballad from any band, but for BM it remains "basic" (no offense). I think that "Akatsuki" is an example of a ballad in the faithful style of BM. 🦊🦊I always remember the ninjas fighting on stage in 2021

Totally fair comment to say so, I'd be interested to know why you guys aren't keen on ballads? Personally, I love this song, it shows a different side to Su-Metal (and the band). I think it speaks to a lot of people on an emotional level and often people can relate to it/ feel the emotion.
It's a bit of a curveball from their usual style, maybe something created to show everyone that it's not all heavy hitting, metal music that they do, that's kinda why I love this.
As I said, totally fair comment and a great reaction video!

I agree it's not my favorite song either, but how about that band ? These guys are some pros, they really sounded good for what it was. Su is always great and I can't help thinking that she must have been grateful to perform this. It's like something she was used to singing. Nor my favorite but still gotta applaud the talent on the stage. Way to go guys. Keep it coming. There isn't much more like this to get through. There is surprisingly a lot of great tunes left

NR,NR is my favorite Babymetal song, by far. It doesn't sound like any other ballad that I've ever heard, and I grew up listening to ballads. With that said, this may be their worst performance of the song. It is so much better at Legend S and at '10 Babymetal Budokan.'
I think metalheads might not be into the song much. I'm not a metalhead, though I love Babymetal. What's interesting too, is that this song is one of my favorite songs of all-time, but my take on some fan-favorites is similar to your take on this. (Pa Pa Ya, Road of Resistance, in particular)

For total transparency as well, when I made a request for the Su and Moa version of Shine it did take some effort to get that up, so when I requested the Legend S version of No Rain No Rainbow I did indicate that our hosts should be cautious, and that I did not expect them to jump through hoops for my personal gratification. Perhaps I should have given my own pathetic version of our Queen's glare and been more insistent, but it's not my channel and I feel I should warn people if I have seen issues with certain performances.
That said, if a certain type of song e.g. ballads are not a person's favourite then the version possibly doesn't matter. 😜
Anyway, I'm happy. I had my daily fix ☺

Nice reaction. This is Babymetal stretching their legs into yet another genre. But while you thought of it as a typical live ballad. I suggest looking into the lyrics. Not a typical love song at all. For those who say a rock ballad isn't for you. IMO might be affraid of getting in touch with your emotions. And this song is big with the fans. Especially her performance of it from Legend S concert. I have to say I've seen grown ass folks cry over this song. If you let her Su will touch your soul and make you feel emotions like never before. Powerful is Su-metal in the way of song. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises

I fully agree that this isn't my favourite song, by a long shot. Where I think we differ is that I'm such a massive Su fan that I think her voice elevates the song above most non-Babymetal songs purely on the merit of having Su sing it. Thanks for the reaction, though, but I do have one question: Why no Arkadia?

Great reaction as always, I totally get it too. I do enjoy good ballads myself but this, in my opinion anyway, is definitely one of the most generic Babymetal songs of their catalogue. That being said yeah it goes without saying that Su's skills were amazing at that age!
I saw someone in here mention Yava. I'd love to see your reaction to that one! Unfortunately there arent many great videos of it, the majority are compilations that jump all over the place, but its in my top 5 favorite Babymetal songs so I believe it would be worth it!!

It's great that you honest about not liking slow ballads but still appreciate the performance. Although I couldn't relate about skipping Babymetal song. 😆
This is 1 out of 4 Su-Metal solo songs and the only Ballad. A lot of people say that they do Su-Metal solo and Black Babymetal for the girls to take a breather. Although they do, I mostly consider it as a performance variety where they switch it up and give something different. Something they inherited from Sakura Gakuin (The group Babymetal originated from).
The next Su-Metal solo you need to check out is:
Babymetal - "Akatsuki" Live at Budokan 2014.
Then next definitely should be a Black Babymetal song. (Black Babymetal is where Yuimetal and Moametal performs without Su-Metal)
Babymetal - "Onedari Daisakusen" Live at Budokan 2014.

Gentlemen every song/performance by these young ladies and their Kami's are different (it is one of the reasons I believe that they are a worldwide draw). One thing for sure you will never see them get in a rut and become predictable. Ballads not your thing? Understood but many of us love hearing Suzuka sing solo (the Legend S LIVE Concert performance of this song with a pianist and full orchestra is my favorite).
Understand also that solo's give a much needed break in the setlist for Moa/Yui or Momoko to get some water take a break etc.
Also when Moa and Yui performed without Suzuka (Black Babymetal) it returned the favor
There are also 2 performances where Moa sings Onedari Daisakusen snd GJ! (Good Job!) solo LIVE at Budokan 2021 that are amazing.
Moa also has a solo on Headbanger (Moabanger) LIVE on her 20th birthday that is stunning. Moa is a vocal talent in her own right.

I understand your comment, and indeed Legend S is an incredible performance, but I respectfully disagree. The song structure and chord progressions are in fact formulaic of an 80's rock power ballad. They were supposed to be as that is the genre homage. However, it's the subject matter and the emotion of the performance that makes this piece great, and this early performance can fall flat for many listeners including myself. I do wish they would google a translation of lyrics before they react. It really adds to the picture when you know what its about. KU 🤘🦊🤘

Learn the lyrics, this song has a lot of meaning, sorry you missed the meaning, getting restless. Not a "Love song". This one of the most cared for solos, especially after the death of one their members. You have to learn the story that precedes the song, then you will get it. React to the more recent Legend X with captions. I guess you we so bored that you missed the guitar solos, missed the piano/strings (and of course the intro story). Seems you still have a lot to learn about Babymetal. Still outside looking in, maybe you will get it soon. Keep learning.
