- The sophomore record of this duo from Madison.
With this second offering this duo show what they are trying to reach, not exactly a lo-fi black metal fusion with synths or other softening tools, instead a harsh yet harmonious black metal, following their debut concept but adding also some new traits, such as punk, sometimes taking the sound onto a full d-beat mode. There are still dark ambient tracks, one intermission, the fourth track and the intro, but not mixed with the black metal, they are evocations as to realign the listener and set him into the right abyssal downward route.
On the last track we are taken into a different route, one that sinks deeper into melancholy, an almost depressive black metal approach, something that surfaces more in this record and is unveiled in this finishing track

I keep coming back to this almost every week - insanely unique sound, couldn't find another band with such dark and incredible vibe. The guitar bring me such joy, the atmosphere and vocals are out of this world. At 4:59 I can hear these background chants, almost a cheerful "LA-LA-LA-LAA"
Snowbringer's Spell followed by that final track is absolute perfection

K3YS 0P3N MY$TIC D00R$ - 5 very strong tracks here but it's definitely Vampyric Comet ->Snowbringer's Spell -> What is the Glimmer that hammer home the groups sound. To others commenter's points Glimmer specifically is a great closer and has some chord progressions which have a bit more of a "gaze" sound to them but the group don't go full Alcest on this at all and instead maintain the lo-fi production and tremmlo strumming and just nail the dismount/landing. Would def recommend for any wizards who need to ponder their orb or lament their losses. Steller follow-up for sure!
