    Manufacturers need to put grease fittings back theses parts !! Ogh wait let's put parts on that have very little grease in them an it wears out to soon

      completely opposite actually, their sealed to help keep moisture out better, and also are stronger as they don't have hollow grease passages inside the u-joints to make them weaker. can guarantee a sealed Spicer u-joint will outlast a greaseable aftermarket uint any day.

      I think the oem joints come without grease now, based on still original joints I see, never greased in 30 year old trucks.

      It’s coin toss on what I see is better in the heavy duty world all joints have zerks they aren’t an issue if you keep them grease like at every oil change but I’ve also been told it can weaken the joint because of the channels that have to be in the joint to spread the grease

    • @thisisyourcaptainspeaking2259
      @thisisyourcaptainspeaking2259 Před rokem

      @@neooverby3750 The crosses with grease channels will break if you abuse them. It's really not an issue unless you do neutral drops, then there's a very good chance the yoke ears will also be damaged when the cross breaks, they get twisted out of round.

    With the VCMM diagnostic tool with accessory kit from Ford Rotunda, comes with a handy dandy vibration analyzer that works amazingly well to pinpoint vibrations without having to remove anything to check balances. Let’s you know if it’s a wheel/tire vibration, driveline vibration, or powertrain vibration based on frequency of vibration picked up by the accelerometer with inputs from the vehicle such as vehicle wheel speed, engine rpm, etc. My advice is if you’ve got a vibration you can’t figure out, check with your local dealer to see if they have this tool. I’ve used it to save people tons of money in unnecessary checks and parts replacements during my years at the dealership.

    With the electric impacts and vehicle on a lift its so easy to yank the driveshaft. I would rather be busy changing some ujoints than sweeping the floor or pushing something heavy around the shop trying to look busy.

    Had mine go out last fall. Albeit my 2015 has an 8” suspension lift on 38’s lol but it felt oddly like it did when my tie rods went out 8mos prior so i took it to my local mechanic shop and the tech called and said my tie rods were fine, but my u joint was bad. Had it lifted since I got it in early 2017 so I’m surprised the oem ones lasted that long lol I’ll also add I’ve still got my oem brake pads and roters. They’re built like tanks. Very dusty tanks, but tanks nonetheless!!

  • @thisisyourcaptainspeaking2259

    I once had seized ujoint that felt like a wheel balance issue.
    Use GWF (grease-worm-free) type grease.

    Can’t wait for the video. I have that vibration in my 17 f250 and I’m 99% sure it’s the u-joints, but I don’t know what u-joints to get :/

      Planned obsolescence. They don’t make anything to last anymore. They make more money if we replace things, including the vehicles themselves.

      @@TonyLasagna I’m not sayin they should or shouldn’t be on there. You’re probably right, Im not an engineer. I’m just sayin the automotive industry makes cars/trucks and parts that don’t last anymore intentionally most of the time. I just hope my 2015 F250 lasts me. The drive train should I take care of it better than ford tells us too, but I’ve had electronic issues already.

    • @KendrasEdge757
      @KendrasEdge757 Před 2 lety +2

      @@TonyLasagna yeah I hear ya. Uh well my backup system stopped working so I made the apt and took it in and they replaced my far left drivers side proximity sensor and it’s working again now, but anytime it rains or day after rain OR as I’ve found in this freeze we’ve been in this past week, the camera either goes fuzzy or it’s fuzzy for a sec and then it either goes out entirely or I get the message on the screen that says camera unavailable. I upgraded mine to the sync 3 through infotainment, about six months after I got it-love it, but that’s not the issue. I replaced the frame to camera harness and obviously that wasn’t it. So I’ve got to make another apt. At least the dealer said they wouldn’t charge me my deductible if there’s something related to the work. I also had some codes for the egt sensors that haven’t came back on since they did the recall flash on it. The only issues I’ve had were with the camera which is either the cam itself needing replaced or a wear spot on the wiring from the dash to the connection that dumps out the tailgate. From what I’ve researched anyways. So annoying. Everything else has been flawless and I love this truck. I wanted a diesel forever and finally got her and then we got blessed with $6/gl diesel

    I searched your content for 2020 superduty driveline issues. That lead me here. Hmmm driveshaft huh. So I crawled under my truck and 1 of the u-joint cap and bearings is trying to leave the chat.

    I have a 14 with new driveshaft and have a vibration at 55mph -70 mph. Checked 3 sets of wheels and tires still there. Jacked it up and confirmed that it is coming from the rear somewhere. Also seems it might have a very slight dog track. Owned since new 2014 f250 platinum with factory 2.5 inch lift. Im stumped. Any ideas? It's been like this since new. Dealer says it's normal but I know its not. It's very noticeable. Driveshaft was replaced and balanced as one full unit.

    My girlfriends old 7.3 had a bad vibration when we bought it. The double cardone joint was so bad that it actualy bent the driveline, because it would only articulate one way. Rolling on the pavement, it rolled the rear axle 2-3 inches with each rotation.
