    So glad Nepali times have uploaded this interview. Such great wisdom and humility. So happy the world is recognizing the Nepalese might in mountaineering.
    I wish I was there to meet him. My favorite person in my favorite hotel in my favorite country 🇳🇵 Nepal.

    He is the most respected mountaineer ever lived . He is a legendary mountaineer who made people realise that Mt Everest could be done without oxygen and is the first person to do so . And yes , it’s actually the Gurkhas who were accompanying the British in possibly the first K2 expedition in 18th century . Sherpas were brought into the scene in mid 19th century as far as I understand the mountaineering history .

      @@topologyrob to be fair Nirmal climbed with Sherpas while Messner soloed some and did all 14 without oxygen
