I cannot believe how fast destiny reads… like the breakup tour clips look like they took place within 20 minutes of each other… you go girl
And then everyone else (me) spends a week reading a 500 page book😭

i agree with your opinion about authors using taylor as a way to get sales!! im a swiftie and i am tired of seeing taylor references that are literally on the readers face like the great thing about her is that you can literally reference her work way more subtly and it would work but people just throw references around and market it as something taylor coded because people will buy it

Bride from Ali hazelwood is actually super on brand I feel like Bc a lot of her stuff has to do with nerdier hobbies and she literally took a fanfiction concept and made it into a mainstream book and I love that for her tbh. But I also understand for anyone who didn’t like already acclimatize to what goes on in said book it can be a little weird 😭

Ugh I love Alex Michaelides books so much and I love the little Easter eggs in all of them. The Greek aspect in The Silent Patient was the tragedy they saw “Alcestis”.

I too read The Fury. I rated it 5 stars, which I've actually done with all his books. I love the way he incorporates Greek myths into his stories and I love how he changes the plot structure in each book. Just FYI- the Silent Patient is based off a Greek myth as well.

I love the concept of not rating them until the end because I also need to process ratings sometimes, and also sometimes I'll put it as one rating and then it's actually something else (a 4 star that turns into a 5 because I literally cant stop thinking about it; a 2 star to a 1 because I actually keep remembering stuff I didn't like)
I also read Bride and felt the same way as you, I just heard so much about the romance being amazing and it wasn’t like that once I read it.

I feel the exact same about the Magnolia Parks books and series!! So glad to know I am not alone in the feelings of the series being a bit draining and annoying as it goes on, but Jessa does give us amazing writing and such a real look on life. I want to read ITD soon!!

My most anticipated release was CC3 and I am STRUGGLING to get through it. It has gotten to the point where I am like "Oh my gosh is this over yet?" and I feel like it is mostly my fault because of expectations that I had built up for what I thought was going to be happening in the book.

loved this video!! I have a sci fi/thriller recommendation for you that I think you would enjoy! Annihilation (part of the Souther Reach Trilogy) has been one of the best books i've read so far this year, and one of the best thrillers ever. it's a little more of a psychological/you don't really know what's going on kind of thriller, which I personally really like and I think you might too!
I completely agree that in, if only I had told her that that point of view was cut off very abruptly, and that's not what I was thinking it was gonna be
